Hello, just got the Thunderbolt coming from Samsung Vibrant. I've rooted and flashed deodexed stock rom, etc.
I want to install the AOSP File Manager and have placed the apk in System/App. I've checked all the permissions and rebooted multiple times but the app still doesn't show up in the app drawer? This worked on the Vibrant, not sure if something is different here?
Thanks for any help.
Weird but I figured it out. The file was named "File Manager -Copy.apk". For some reason didn't notice it. Deleted -Copy and it works fine.
Hey,
I've tried to theme some apps for the first time, and everything worked well.
Until I tried to theme Root Explorer. I just tried changing the icon.
The icon is changed, and the program installs.
But when I open the program it FC's.
Anyone knows what I can have done wrong when the other apps worked?
Hello,
I had some sort of crash on my phone but i managed to get system back. All's phone appart few apps that didn't appear anymore in launcher. After checking data/app i saw their apk was corrupted, so i deleted it. Reinstall was fine for all, but not for ezPDF Reader...
I tried all i could : deleting all files related to it, wiping caches and even flashing it from cwm (with TB update.zip feature). It failed for that last solution too (apk was in data/app and not corrupted but still not showing in launcher).
Ah, forgot but i also tried copying the apk rightly named & good permission in data/app myself. Of course i did reboot everytime a change was made. Please help/tell me what's the file/thing to change so i can restore/install it.
Thanks.
While looking through the folders on my divice using astro file manager i came a strange blue file called Discover More Apps next to the folder it has what looks like a small grey birthday present as i clicked on it, it took me to a kind of un-official playstore i backed out straight away and tried deleting it got the small notification to say it had been deleted but never removed it, the folder seem to follow you into every folder you visit i tried running avg but picked up no threats would just like to remove it as im guessing i have picked it up downloading something i tried unistalling everything i have recently download but this made no difference
My device is a Galaxy S3 GTI9300

afaik astro file manager includes ads, so it could be an advertisement. was this "unofficial play store" opened in your web browser or was it an app?
maybe a screenshot of this folder could help for understanding what you mean.
try if you can find the "folder" with another file manager like "es file explorer" (it's a free explorer without any ads)
if you cannot find it then its obviously an ad and if you don't like it you should change your file explorer or buy the paid version.
Hi guys, I'm having a very serious problem, these days ago, I got a Coolpad 3622a, blocked by MetroPCS, then I was thinking, "I'm going to root", then I rooted the device using KingRoot on the phone, then restarted automatically, and failed, but I rooted again, and it worked, I checked the root of the device on the Root Checker and the root was working, Then I changed the ringtone of the device by the stock old Android, to transform it into Android 4.0 ICS Holo, that this Coolpad's android is 5.1.1 Lollipop, so I deleted the boot animation, the shutdown sound & shutdown animation, and created the Backup folder on the sdcard, before I deleted it, I copied it there in the Backup folder, and another , I deleted some apps from Google and MetroPCS, and left the backup too, and I left the apps just like the Android Emulator, I changed the system icons like Phone, contacts, messages, calculator and etc. to ICS Holo, using root explorer extracting and compressing again and renaming by .apk er I rebooted the device, and the icons worked, even I changed the app drawer icon in Launcher3, then I installed the Android Stock browser, and it crashed all the time when I opened it, so I restored the phone to factory defaults there. settings, then after restoring, I chose the English language, connected my Wi-Fi, and now I'm stuck on Checking connection. How do I do to solve this problem? I restored it, and it was just like breaking into the system of the device. Help me please, seriously!
