OK..totally noob question...How do you clear launcher defaults? I thought that was just automatically done when you choose the new launcher and select "always" after hitting the home button but I see you have it as a seperate step. I'm coming form nova launcher which I use because I like to have seven app icons on my home screen alonf the bottom.
From your google+ page, I see that you have this affected on your new nexus by setting dpi to 240. I'm hoping this works with the kitkat launcher.
Thanks again!

Thanks. That does fix the problem on Liquid Smooth:
UPDATE 1: Google Search Force Close fix:
Long press the home screen, select Settings. Select Voice. Select Language to change the default. Change to another language, for me I choose English – UK. Hit Home. Do a Google Search. Repeat the first three steps. Change back to English – US. (you may have to redo this step every time you restart --- if you experienced FC --- for non-rooted users)

Since I have my SGS3 a few weeks ago there's something missing and I don't know why. I'm talking about the in line spell checking.
In ICS when you misspell a word a red dotted line appears underneath that word, so you can easily see the mistake and fix it. This is also present in iOS.
Why don't we have that on our SGS3? I really need it to easily check for any mistakes when writing emails and other stuff.
Right now there is no way to see when a word is incorrectly written. I have to re-read all my text again to see if it's correct and it takes to long compared to just looking for the red dots.
It's it just me or is there a way of enabling this feature? I downloaded the ICS keyboard from the market and it doesn't have this much needed feature.
I don't understand why no one seems to find this to be a problem.

samsung keyboard, settng, predictive text, spell correction
Thanks but that's not what I mean. I still don't get any visible sign on a misspelled word. I'm not talking about spell checker.
What I want is something like iOS when you misspell a word and a red dotted line appears beneath the word. That way it's very easy to check for misspelled word on very long notes.
I think I saw this same feature on the ICS keynote. A line appears beneath the mistakes word and it gives you a list of optional words to change to.
This does not appear on my SGS3. Maybe it's because it's not stock Android. How can I get this?
Thanks.

No, no, no. It doesn't need to work like iOS. I'm saying that stock Android has this feature but I don't see it on the SGS3 and that is weird. Stock Android shows you a line beneath any word misspelled. Why not the SGS3?
There has to be a way to show it.

I've already downloaded the ICS and JB keyboards and still that feature is not present. It's not present strangely on any keyboard: Swype, swiftkey, go keyboard, etc. It's actually really weird. It's an essential feature and it comes with stock Android. I don't know if this problem is only with Samsung or if HTC has it too.
Will moving the keyboard file to system really work? I will try it.
My last resort would be to use CM10 I guess.

This should be possible, just need someone with the knowledge and time to make one.
I am sure the S-pen SDK allows us to monitor when the s-pen is removed so we should be able to trigger an app to auto-switch keyboard at that point.

+1 someone please make this happen!
One of the first things I thought of when I got my phone was "wow, EVERYTHING is way too big". I tried shrinking icons and text, but still want happy with things like the system ui.
Once I had my phone rooted I dove into the build.prop file and changed from 480 to 320, and couldn't be happier! Naturally the launcher was jacked up, but Nova launcher fixed that. The only remaining annoyances are a few Samsung apps that don't scale properly, the phone, camera, calculator and I'm sure a few more I haven't noticed. I know there are multi-DPI apps available for the unlocked S4, but I didn't want to be the first to test them on Verizon.
If you've changed your DPI, what did you go with? Any problems? Have you tried the multi-DPI Samsung apps?

Use the xposed mod, should work just fine as it isn't phone dependent.
Just did this, amazing. My first thought too, this phone is for visually impaired! What are some other good values, if any, between 320 & 480?
I've tried exposed in the past on my GN (Toro) running AOKP and came away mostly disappointed. Fact is, I want EVERYTHING to be smaller, not just select apps. I really don't get Google's insistence on making the GUI elements so big, it's not like we're dealing with resistive screens any more. I wish they would just take advantage of the fact that android scales so well and allow anyone to change their DPI either device wide or per app, then they could make everything default to smaller with big only for old and/or blind people.

I have changed mine to 420 but i cant decide if i like it or not. Sometimes its cool making everything smaller and using that screen space but other times I am missing seeing larger icons and text, showing off that resolution in the more visible graphics. Hmmm... I also tried 320 before that and everything was very very small lol.
Plus I can't use the Xposed app to fix the now cut off Gallery/Phone app because I use 3Minit Framework and app instead..

I think it is because you are CM10.1. I am not positive, but the way I see it is the CM10.1 makes it so your phone isn't a Galaxy S4 in a sense. So maybe Apex is seeing that you aren't a Galaxy S4. Not sure, but just a thought.

My phone doesnt support rooting
ok i have done a TON of research but have yet to get the issue resolved. as we all know it has been well documented that the dna has issues with getting mms to work with an att sim card. hoiwever, i did speak with att and they said that my sim card COULD be the issue. something about it being a 3g card and the stream of #'s is not compatible?
think thats possible?
anyone else have any luck with changing the sim card out?
ill go out on a limb and ask if anyone has the correct apn or mms settings. i can get internet but the dreaded mms is a no go. i did manage to get ONE mms to come thrrough on my phone but i have a feeling it was a fluke. also that was multiple days and tries ago.
id hate to part with such an awesome device but i do need mms...

i did download the gosms app. however, i couldnt find where to put the mms settings in. is there a how to for that? im willing to give it another go.
Here is how you get to the mms settings in go sms. Just get to the menu in the app and follow the pictures I have attached. Then fill in the correct apn settings and make sure they save and it should work. (I don't know the apn settings for AT&T but I'm sure if you Google it or search xda you can find it) I would reboot after you change them and then test it and see if it works. Hopefully it does.
Good luck

Well that's up to you. I would just flashed viper dna since the recent apps button also acts like a menu for short press and then acts as a recent apps button when you long press it. But that's up to you. Let me know if you get it to work.
