So recently i got a htc one x but i was frustrated with the issues the one x had and and one of them was overheting man the phone was super hot when playing games it gos up to 54C and while playing a game you cant charghe your phone becuse it is going to overheat and htc says that is normal (maybe for them but not for me).So i got rid of one x and looking to get a GS3 so how are the temperatures in normal usage and in gaming my GS2 while playing GTA III is not going over 38C.

And what are the max temperatures?
There is an article over at Engadget where someone's Galaxy S3 bursts into flames and melts its own casing.

yeah i saw it that made me open this theard and i think the 2012 phones suck im thinking on going for the htc one s in the end god knows..
Only time my phone gets noticably hot is browsing XDA due to all the frigging adverts!
I seem to have found a combination of activities that can make it seem "hot"
I use a background radio streaming app over 3g, then if I play any kind of game - it runs quite hot, almost uncomfortably.
Mine stays at an average of 31 degrees consistently.

Mines' doing fine, base on SetCPU around 38'degrees for a full 30mins of Nova3 (clocked at 800Mhz, running all 4 cores i think) on my battery, not sure how warm my CPU is
Mine gets quite hot after using it on max brightness after awhile.

In usb host mode the usb port gets pretty warm >40c
Also, i'd imagine the cpu does get pretty warm given how much processing it does.

Samsung should promote this to the Alaskans as a combined entertainment/hand warming device.
so how are the temperatures do they go over 50 when gaming like 30-40mins like the one x i had my s2 while playing gta 3 wont go over 40c i played 1h and 6min
And how is the battery how much can do you get onscreen time? with one x i couldnt go over 2h and are there any issues with the phone like the one x had with screen flex/ripple yellow tint, hardware problems with wifi etc.. i realy expect an honest answer because i had the one x and it was only trubble dont want to make that mistake twice so im thinking galaxy s3 or htc one s
Same here.... Changed from HOX to SGSIII... The SGS get's warm while playing games. But it's ok... The HTC was f...... Hot.

I'm curious too. HTC says it's a 50% increase in battery life but we will be the judge of that.
HTC Sensation w/CMX JB 4.1.2
This may not be exactly what you're asking for but it's no worse than the Galaxy S3 I had. It also has a Power Saver option permanently in the notification bar that has no visible impact on performance.
I can't give an accurate figure yet but after 4 and a half hours of heavy use, constantly downloading apps, making calls, listening to music and using it to browse the Web at a relatively bright screen setting and it's still at 62%. With the power Saver on and my typical usage habits I have no doubt that it'll last the whole day without issue.

Battery life is immense compared to even a rooted custom ROMd HOX. This is my second day on power save mode and the second time I've hit 12+ hours of near constant FB + emailing with 33% left.

Yes the battery life on the HOX+ is pretty top notch.... I was watching HD music videos on youtube & playing heavy games for abt an hr or so & I had consumed only 1% battery

Having had the HTC one X+ for 3 days now....I really dont see much improvement. (very much comparable to my One X with Jelly Bean) As much as I thought it will (300mAh more), but I guess it's not much difference. Please note, I am not saying that the battery is bad, but even HTC one X with Jelly Bean already has good battery performance. I guess the extra 300mAh must have been cancelled out by the extra power in CPU. Anyway, maybe give it a few more days (more cycle) so that the battery is settled. Maybe then I can see better juice from it....but at this stage is unlikely.

Well, may u tell us the difference (in time) of using full day mobile without battery saver and the same enabling it?
Im thinkin on getting this phone, but I need it to last at least one day....
Im talking of course about "normal use" Im not talking about playing games, just playing around 1h30m .mkv, whatsapp, push mail, feeds, some social, music, etc....
I read also about other user he told that one x+ was unable to decode video via HW so, sometimes the image was not synchronized with the voice. Is that real?

For normal use should be really no problem. For HOX battery test on gmsarena gave 37 hours until empty with 1 hour talk, 1 hour video and 1 hour web browsing each day. So with HOX+ easy
I can watch MKV 1080p videos streaming from my NAS at home without any problems, just ridicoulos! btw: I use BSPlayer for that, don't know about stock player...

Thanks in advance!
Hi..
I am using stock HTC One X+ and my phone temperature always go high around 130 F when I play game or surfing on internet on 4G....
Is that normal ?
Also .. once it get high temperature it start working funny .. like not respond to your input and crash app etc...
Is there any ROM out there that have this issue solve.?
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda app-developers app
54 Celsius is well within the heat tolerances of the device. There is no software fix for the heat apart from underclocking. This is what happens when you put a 1.7GHZ quad core CPU in a phone

Hi guys,
I bought an HTC Desire X two days ago and I'm finding really good with it. However I realized that sometimes the battery overheats (it's happened especially when I have HSPA enabled and I'm browsing the Internet). Is there any way to reduce or to delete this problem?
Yes, turn it off. Lol. As long as is on it will get hot, screen produces heat and 4g too.

I swear the Desire X doesn't support 4G? Yeahh the overheating is a known problem with the Desire X, I also turn it off and take the battery out just to get it to cool down quicker. It's so annoying.
I am a new user of HOX+ and I dont know if the temperature is normal or not. I'm using Elegancia ROM and use it only to play Candy Crush or Governor of Poker. My mobile data is rarely on and I often set the brightness level to the lowest. The battery temperature widget says it is running around 43-45 celcius degree, sometimes a little bit more. For me, that number makes the upper back part of the handset (around the camera) too hot and uncomfortable for my palm. Is the temperature normal?
What ROM do you use and how is temperature going?
Afaik its been a common problem. I run Viper XL and my battery goes up to 50C

Well it must be annoying. Ive read some articles about it and the problem comes from the characteristics of Tegra 3 overheating. I think that answer my question about it being too hot. I hope the the hardcase doesnt prevent the heat to go out
I been using for almost a year, it overheated before. In August I gave it to the services Center, when it came back. It doesn't over heat as much as it did. Max temperature so far on my phone is 50c,before 55.

Dang...mine is around 45
Do you measure that temperature when you are playing games or doing whatsoever or right after you turn the device on? Any means or tool you use to preserve the battery temperature?
When i am just texting or browsing it is quite cool, But the heat goes way over the top when I then use it for games after that. I can feel the difference too much.
Is it related to the working cores or something?
I measure whenever I want to. No there's no such application to do that unless you underclock, but lose performance. Take it to the service Center, tell them to fix it, tell it overheats. Mine was first only formatted, then I lied to them about having other issues, so they send it to the company, and they replaced everything inside, when it came back, no more issues. I'm guessing an updated version of the Tegra 3 is released, which fixes overheating issues, so maybe they kept the new one in mine lol
