CM team is working on cm10.1, I'm sure we will see it for the vibe.
???
yes considering 4.2 isn't too much of an upgrade from 4.1. However i think more research should be done on whats causing this encryption unsuccessful bug that's bricking a lot of phones.
That would be cool to see it come to the vib

This far the EU bug is only an "ICS thing".
???
Through CyanogenMod and other Dev we will get 4.2 and 5 as well, possibly 6, but not sure about 7 (it depends on if we get to Android 7 before the world ends due to countries going to war over lack of natural resources and nuclear war ensues). I'll let you know in about 5 years time if I'm not glowing green due to radiation.
The Nexus S have been confirmed by a Google Dev it won't get official 4.2 though.

I think with Vibrant we're going to see all Android versions until:
- Developers loose interest
- Hardware requirements make the new versions not feasible.
The level of stability and battery we have with JB is simply amazing for how old the phone is. You can buy a brand new battery and extend life cycle easily for another year with this phone.
That is true I'm amazed the vibrant made it this far lol
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
Maybe because the nexus s has the same hardware for the most part and it is getting these updates officially and it gets ported over. That's why I've always thought it made it this far. Just my thought lol.

of course we can get 4.2
DerTeufel and pawitp both make 4.2 for sgs i9000 they are pretty stable some issue are there but it is awesome
if someonw try derteufel rom here is the link
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2003676
I Agree, @der and pawitp are great developers bringing us all the releases. AOKP is good too.
Unfortunately, we dont have a developer exclusively for Vibrant. Nevertheless, we could wait for a few more days to see 4.2 for Vibrant.
Cheers.
I am curious what everyone's favorite new jelly bean features are. I gotta say from using my Nexus I love the clock app. Its finally on par with HTC clock. Which is something I always go back to sense for.

The notification area. Way way way better. With MMS and music integration, it just looks so pretty

Second that. As an extension, I love the quick reply in stock messaging and how it's assessable from the notification area.

One of the rezound jellybean users here should post a video of jb running on their rezound. I'd love to see it in action...see if it's as great as it sounds.
Thanks
Rezound, s-off, loving it.
My favorite feature is both project butter and the notification area.

I'm assuming anyone on a jb rom with the rez is either building themselves or using an unreleased build

Correct there are no public releases yet, jellybean is as stable as ICS in my opinion for what I use, but the developers are doing very extensive testing to make sure that the average user doesn't have any more risk flashing jellybean than they do with ICS. When it is released, its because Chad and the other guys working at the source level feel it's relatively safe and secure.

That's good top hear I've been bummed buy the lack of updates and stuff for the REZ lately. But its good to know is just because they are all working hard on getting us jelly bean. I'm pretty stoked for it to be released. I'm really thankful for these guys working hard on a device that's been such a pain in that ass

I'm thinking that rezound development is better now than its ever been. We have aosp, senseless, sense 3.6, sense 4.0, sense 4.1 and a sense 4.5 test build. That's just OS versions. There's more roms actively being updated and developed now than I can ever remember. PM me if you have some questions on recommendations or where to find good roms.
I'm currently running Ecliptic Rez with a nice kernel snuzzo and hawknest built for that rom and there's an update getting ready to drop.

I'd love to check out JB but I went back to a Sense 3.6 ROM (Rezone Redux) from Rage 1.9 because of issues with my phone not switching towers properly. I'd often lose data (especially when transitioning between 3G and 4G) and have to turn the radio off and on to get it back without having to wait forever. Airplane mode became my most used quick setting.

The optimus G got an early port of cm10.1

Like 2 week old info and its a different version of optimus g. All the optimus gs are are very similar so work on one will effect work on the others to a degree. Keep an eye in the #lg-optimus-g chat room for more up to date info.
Very promising, can't wait to try an AOSP build on this monster phone

As long as there is something going on I'm relatively content.
We have ICS and it runs fast as any JB phone. I'm through and through content to wait for now.
In my humble opinion, JB is over-rated. I have a Nexus 7 running JB 4.2.1 (the latest). Except for the screen size, I see no upsides to the JB running Nexus 7, compared to ICS on my LGOG. Additionally, if you check the N7 forum here, you will see many, many users frustrated with the laggy performance brought on by OTA updates to 4.2.1.

JB is awesome. You can put Google now on ICS but it doesn't work nearly as well as it does on JB. Also, the new quick settings are much nicer. I'm using a rom that lets you customized each one on my gnex.

Not only that we're not going to be running Google released jb, it's going to be made by the cm team which means it'll have subtle tweaks here and there that Google didn't think of

Yeah I flashed CM 10.1 on my Captivate last night and quick settings is so awesome. If you have no active notifications, when you swipe down it automatically shows all your quick settings/toggles. I love that you can use the full notification drawer now too. It's gonna be great on the LGOG.
That's awesome. The only thing I'm going to miss is the aspect ratio correction that the stock rom has.

The SickleSoftware team is pleased to present you with SickleRom.
This rom is based off of cyanogenmod for ease of porting to new devices. Its also based on 4.1.2 for that same reason. Something different about our rom however is we are taking the few good features from 4.2.1 and putting them into 4.1.2 so that even more devices can use them. We as a team, also don't agree with the way google took their new flavour of jellybean. So we hope you agree with ours, thank you for giving our rom a chance.
Change log:
http://review.sicklesoftware.com/#/q/status:merged,n,z
Source code:
http://github.com/SickleSoftware
Download:
http://goo.im/devs/SickleSoftware/SickleROM-ALPHA/grouper/SickleROM-ALPHA-V1.0.0.zip
NOTE this rom is still in beta and alpha stages per device we currently plan on adding a lot more features and reworking the way the rom functions and looks. All features by us or cm will also be toggleable. Consider this alpha release preview nightly
If you would like to be a beta tester PM me with a request to get access to our beta forums
Since it is based on 4.1.2, will it act correctly with the 4.13 bootloader?

I have done 4.2.1 update with the images provided by Google and flashed the rom on the new boot loader and it works fine. But when flashing remember the 4.2 google apps are NOT compatible

Hoping not as interested in latest 4.1.2 until directory bind and CFS fixed in 4.2

Nope it does not. Were working on doing 4.1.2 and 4.2.1 as both active development

Excellent I'll prob try this out later cheers
Edit: tried to install few times got black screen every time. Is there a boot video or is it suppose to be black. Left it for ten mins and nothing. I'll keep an eye out on this though as I want most uptodate 4.1.2 for directory bind. Thanks anyway

To be honest, i'll rather stay on cyanogenmod or pacman even if its jellybean than kitkat stock without the extra stuff.
I still have a hard time understanding why Nexus 4 got it before G2 because Nexus 5 is basicly same hardware as G2, but it doesnt bother me so much.

Because everyone in the Paranoid Android team owns a Nexus 4 and all has bought the Nexus 5. Pretty sure lots of them own the Nexus tablets also.
Honestly, I tried Kit Kat on my Galaxy Nexus and I don ´t know what to think about. Yeah it is faster, but LG G2 is fast anyway. Can ´t find anything which would be esential.
I hope that at least battery will improve. Otherwise it´s not big deal.

I have been running cyanogenmod since it came to g2 and i consider it stable, especially after todays snapshot release.
For me it doesnt matter if its a nexus or not i flash a custom rom anyways, and in this case the g2 hardware is better than n5 with the same software i see no reason to get n5 besides the price if you live in a country where playstore devices are available.
So you're saying its bug free? Looking at the thread it looks like a bunch of force closing etc. Etc.
