I tried to unlock the BL on my new P769BK but ultimately failed. I am on stock now, but my touchscreen has a wonky touch problem, but thankfully isn't mirrored. In order to fix this, I have tried Lelus' method using ADB, but that requires root, and I don't have root at the moment, any ideas on how I can fix this? I have the v6.bin file, can I put it into the .kdz file somehow?
I think you have to put it in the kdz flash thing like how you did with 20b bin, then do a hard reset after it flashes , hope I help!

769 Mirrored / Inverted -- Help Requested
I flashed V20B.00.KDZ and now the phone has a mirrored / inverted splash logo screen and when fully loaded it stays mirrored / inverted.
I have since read and searched for 10hrs trying to locate clear info on how to recover the phone to stock.
I located and have installed v20H.KDZ from LG, still stuck with inverted / mirrored issue.
Could someone please help me recover the phone to a normal screen.
The BL is locked.
Thank you

actually i did use the search, thanks for that....and it definitely wasnt a hard brick, i unlocked the device through fastboot and then ran the one-click fastboot restore to recover from bootloop or softbrick, worked like a champ! thanks for all the help, and for reminding me to use the search feature.... lol

Can you get your phone in Software Download Mode? Power down your phone and hold volumn up while connect usb. If your phone can boot to SW download you may able to flash stock rom to it again.

Hello buddy,
Have you tried to factory reset your device (holding vol down + power + home buttons or from CWM), if nt then first try to reset it. If problem persists then reflash stock rom. If you are able to boot into CWM recovery then best option is to restore cwm back of rooted rom from collection of rooted CWM backups thread by cmahedra. If you r still getting error then please explain it in detail that what error ur getting while software update on pc and phone with screen shots. Good Luck
Here is the link for ready made rooted CWM backups

Hey all i accidentally hit the OTA update "OK" button when it popped up on my screen. I've been deferring it for the past few months but my finger slipped and hit the "OK" instead of the "defer" and choosing a date to ask again.
I have a looping "Teamwin" logo and it keeps looping.. Cant seem to do anything. I've taken out the battery and then start it up but it still does the same thing.
Any advice, step by step to get out of this loop?
Thanks!
David

Would you care to give me a link to do this with a note 2, droidstyle?
yep click the link in my sig...refer to section 1b. you can probably get away with using root66 so you do not have to reroot and unlock BL.
Also when you get back up and running I would recommend freezing SDM1.0 apk with a App such as Titanium back up pro and you will no longer get prompted for OTA updates.

hold on a sec, can you boot into recovery? If so you can probably wipe data and re flash the rom you were on.

if you had an updated firmware then that file wouldnt work for you. i also noticed though you put that file in the bootloader field instead of the pda field when you tried flashing it one of those times. that may have been a bad thing. you could try to flash the other file marked vramc from that thread.

root66 works on all devices with the current firmware since it does not contain a bootloader, recovery, or wipe data. Sometimes it will cause a bootloop which all that is needed is to wipe data in recovery.

I might not do the transfer now, but then i have it, so i can do it at the holidays.

ok how can I flash back to stock if I cant enter downloadd mode?
I have found that I need to press the volume down button first, and continue holding it down, before tapping and releasing the power button. Pressing both power and volume down simultaneously, rather than volume down first, produces a normal boot.

You get into download mode by pulling battery put battery back in and by holding the volume up button then you plug in USB cable.
