Hey guys, I have a safestrapped DMI1 flashed with hyperdrive. Stock rom wifi works fine, but it doesn't seem to work in hyperdrive. Anyone else having this problem?

I believe you need to flash the ml1 module set and then wifi will work. Its covered in the safestrap threads I believe and the rom compatability thread.
Hit thanks if I helped you out. Doing a little bit of reading goes a long way. Sent via tapatalk.
Hey, I remember something about a wifi fix for nc5 roms, and seeing as how Hyperdrive 16.1, which I installed, had not working wifi, I would like to get the zip for this. Can someone point me to the right modules to remedy this, or guide me to make this better, it is a great rom, but fixing this will make it oh so much better. Thanks.
Okay so I recently decided to to upgrade to the 4.4.2 KitKat root through this video http://youtu.be/AIRoQKTLeJQ and I was running the stock deodexed rom that was provided. I then looked up some compatible custom roms and came across several that were supposedly compatible with NC5 and Safestrap 3.72. However, on most of them (Echoe Rom, Bajarom, Phoenix Rom, etc) the wifi does not turn on even after rebooting. Bajarom it would work (it would take FOREVER to turn on though) until after I restored my nandroid backup (just data) from before I upgraded to 4.4.2 via the video. Then the wifi function would stop... Echoe Rom and Phoenix Rom both had a Galaxy S5 port that had S5 apps, themes, etc. These ones wouldn't have any network access at all. WiFi and 4G would not work. I would still have a signal so I could send texts and call people. I tried flashing modules and modems and NC5 fixes but nothing would work... Does anybody know how to fix this WiFi problem?? Or does anybody know of a good, clean, custom TouchWiz rom that has working wifi? This would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Did you flash modules after rom? That's the only way your wifi is going to work.
Check out giglies NC2 wifi fix and see if that helps: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23487008491963696
Yea I tried the modules and they didn't help. But thanks! I'll give this a shot.

Yea, I tried it last night. I was desperate and was on the verge of just reflashing the stock rom. Luckily that fixed worked, havent experienced any problems.

Stock rom, just rooted.
Is it safe to flash a custom rom like CM11? I upgraded my phone to 4.4.2 NC5 through ODIN, then did the Towel root and flashed Safestrap.
I dont think so.

Wait I thought you said you were on the verge of flashing the stock rom, implying that you're running a custom rom...

Yea. I was going to reflash it to get back the stock kernel. I just got the phone so I didnt have much info to lose and I was in a rush and could't find a solution in the kernel thread. I see people asking about losing wifi, but no one posts any solutions.

So the wifi fix worked but I'm still not getting a 4G signal and I can't make calls or send texts on Echoe Rom or Phoenix Rom. It says there's modules in that wifi fix and I even flashed separate modules but it didn't change anything. Do you know what I can do to fix this?

Sounds like maybe some issues with your APN settings.
Check this thread and see if they match what you have: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2734775

There's no option to change APN setting in those roms... I honestly don't even know where to begin trying to fix this anymore...
Modules Needed??
Does anybody have any idea how I would flash Echoe Rom with the S5 port to my phone with Safestrap 3.72. I have the NC5 bootloader and I'm wondering what modules I need to flash in order to have working wifi AND data/calling/service. When I flash Echoe Rom my baseband version changes to NC2... Does this change the modules I need to flash? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

You could try flashing that wifi fix, which will set your modem as NC2. Then flash the NC5 modem and you'll have the NC5 baseband and working wifi (this is what I do for Hyperdrive).

Hyperdrive is excellent. I Love it. The link and everything you will need to know can be found here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2301724 I have tried other ROM's also, Baja, GruesomeWolf, just to name a couple and I have found Hyperdrive to be the most stable.
Is there a file I can flash on NG6 that will enable the mobile hotspot to work without provisioning. I dont want to use wanam modules, I just want the stock hotspot to work on the new OTA does anybody have and ideas or what I can do to make it happen?
Hey friends,
heard a few might have some wifi issues with OC1 or want the modules for safestrap (this should fix the WiFi issues from muniz's broken 1st release OC1 and save you the trouble of downloading again) and will allow support of wifi or fix it if broken in almost any 5.0 TW ROM you use in the future.
Here is my WiFi fix for OC1 ROMs for Safestrappers / non MDKers (updates HLOS)
before you ask yes you can flash this in Flashfire. However I'd recommended waiting to use this great app until some bugs are worked out and its more stable. I'd continue to use Safestrap right now as that is what I will be using for future ROM releases.
Here is my NK1 WiFi Fix in case you're looking for it.
and the infamous NC2 WiFi Fix
NC5 WiFi Fix
NG6 WiFi Fix
Gigilie-do you have a fix for MDK users of the stock modded OC1 kernel in Muniz's stock rooted OC1 thread? Can't turn on Wi-Fi when the stock kernel available in that thread is flashed.

I was just wondering. This is if you can't turn wifi on right? Are there other issues? I can turn wifi on but it weakens after a few minutes and I have to turn it off and back on to get it working right. Will this fix that?

it might. this flashes your modem, HLOS and modules. Normally if your WiFi isnt working and your on Safestrap its because one of these 3 has been left behind or doesnt match the other 2 anymore.

I dont officially however you can try grabbing the newest OC WiFi zip open it on PC and delete the nhlos .bin and you wont have any risk and it very well could fix WiFi. Let me know if it does and I'll post the MDK zip for all then Otherwise your probably looking at a need for a custom 5.0tw kernel with modules in the zip package.
