Hello anuj,
Are you using BSNL broadband? If yes, then many changes that the problem you are facing is because of poor internet signal.
YOU can try these tips to insure it :-
First of all in wifi's advanced settings, uncheck "avoid poor connections"
Second tip is try using wifi with another phone's as wifi hotspot.
If in both or in second tip your wifi is working fine then there is no any problem with your phone, if happening because of poor broadband service.
If you are getting same problem in both cases then it is possible that your phone have some problem.

Good day everyone. I have been using my samsung vibrant for weeks now with no problem. i noticed today that i couldnt connect to the internet through my stock browser. so also apps like the xda app and facebook book app will not connect to the internet, while my internet indicator is showing connected (both 2g and 3g).It keeps displaying ""nodes for the connection is not available" on the browser. However, at the same time i have able to connecting and use other apps like ebuddy, yahoomail e.t.c. My vibrant is unlocked and purchased from the US but presently using it in nigeria. My APN settings is still the same way since i started using it and my service provider, MTN, says all is well with my connection. This has occurred three times today... each time i had to switch off and back on, or turn on and off the flight mode for it to work sometimes.
Please, any help on how to resolve this?
Apparently our phones lose data connection when they switch from 2g to 3g or vice versa. To prevent it from happening at all go to settings -> wireless and network -> mobile network -> network mode -> and set it to gsm only to lock it on 2g OR wcdma only to lock it on 3g.
Thanks reform. I have tried choosing only 2g and even tried choosing only 3g...but the problem still persist. I had to turn my phone off and On severally for me to have my internet network back now. Is there any other way I can resolve this?

Hello everyone. Please can someone help me with this problem? I have tried everything possible but the phone kept cutting off my internet connection, but only for my browser, Facebook and xda app. Each time it displays 'node not available for this request' it actually deducted from my data plan but not connecting me. Any help please?

I've noticed that I'm losing Wi-fi connection very often. Its coming randomly... first for example I using browser Dolphin HD and connection is lost...
2nd - I turn Prime in the morning for the first time and doesn't work immediately.
After restarting it works, but this is happening now almost every day.
Wi-fi antenna shows half of signal so this should be working. But the problem is that antenna is in grey color instead of blue color.
U know if you click manage WiFi settings then click option screen there is a advanced setting where you can change WiFi to best preformance this should help you

I see no option for best performance in advanced settings????
Go to wireless settings hit manage WiFi access points hit menu then hit advanced then check box for performance

I think he is talking about the wifi disconnection policy. No such thing as "performance" in wifi settings.

About what kind of "policy" are you talking about ? i didn't hear anything about that..... what is that normal to lose wifi connection? nothing we can do?
At the wifi screen, at the very top right corner of your screen next to the add network button there is a button with 3 squares on it. Tap it, then tap advanced. Then change Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep.
Do a factory reset and see if you have same problem maybe its a bad update/flash

Also try restarting your modem/router and see if that helps. Sometimes the fault may not be on the device itself.
I also have this problem!! The wifi disconnects very often on my campus which makes things really annoying. It seems like an software issue to me though since restarting the wifi makes all the wifi networks display and connect again (until it disconnects again) I have yet to try the factory default solution though.
I still didn't fix this, internet is working fine during that time on PC, but Prime loses connection somehow, I just turned it on and he started of without Wifi connection...

When the Prime loses connection, the only solution that works for me is to turn my router off, then back on

I get back connection after restaring Prime, but that isn't really a solution doing it every day, its annoying at least.

You're lucky. Rebooting the router each time is a pain
WiFi connection
when i upgraded from Transformer to Transformer prime i had this problem constantly. I had to remove the WiFi network profile and re-add it. that seemed to fix the profile going in and out.
I am away form home now and facing some frustrating issues with my new S3.
1. I cant connect to any WIFI network though the WIFI connection has very good signal strength. I always get the msg 'Network disabled. Poor Connection'. There is nothing wrong with the WIFI as i can connect it with my laptop and my buddy could connect to it using his IPhone.
2. My roaming time is completely wrong. It does not follow the time of the country I am in. It is showing the same time as my home country network. Shouldnt it automatically detect the network and shows the correct time like Iphone?

1. Restart the router & try just using 2.4Ghz in settings > wifi > advanced
2. Ensure: menu > settings > date & time > check [auto date & time] and [auto time zone]

Beginnin to regret my decision to get a S3. So complicating!
If you happen to have a case on, remove it and try again.

Hi, this is my first post, as I created my account specially with the purpose to answer you.
After being faced with the problem all day and reading all possible materials on the topic in google and here, my dad walked in and asked me why he is not able to connect to our home wireless connection.
This was when I retrieved my hope that the problem is not in the phone. And it was not! My iPhone, my laptop were able to obtain a internet connection in contrast to my other laptop and my S3! I restarted the rooter and everything was ok! Everbody got their internet dose !
So, most probably it isn't you!
Also have wifi problem, except it tells me it's an authentication error. I cannot connect to the WiFi unless I stand right next to it. Can't connect to WiFi anywhere (if you think it's the router in my house), even though the device detects the router. Sent it back to Samsung.

Hey, I experienced the same problem. But in my case, I am able to connect to the AP, if I am using a static IP address in the SGS3 instead of DHCP. Same router, no settings changed there. Just configured a static IP.
Cheers,

Same problem
Tried everything still not working, took it back to samsung they said it's working fine any other device is connecting without a problem but the S3 wont (i have 15 S3 with this problem)
Thanks

I'm also frequently getting the "Network disabled. Poor Connection" message when at home. I have 2 wifi routers:
- Buffalo WHR G54S
- Draytek 2920n
If I turn wifi off/on on the S3 it sometimes resolves the issue, but not always. Sometimes after turning off/on it shows a status of "Connected"but there is no internet connectivity. If I then switch to the other router I can sometimes (but not always) connect successfully.
I'm running Checkrom v5.5, and have tried both the Perseus and Siyah kernels - both have this problem.
Hey guys,
Is there any way to use Mobile Networks without turning Wifi off?
Currently, as soon as I turn Wifi On, if there's a know network around, it will connect to Wifi and obviously Mobile Network (3G) is not used...
However, is there any chance to still use Mobile Networks without:
- Turning Wifi OFF
- "Forget" known networks
Reason for all this is that I'm having an issue with my phone... When I turn Wifi On, it gets "stuck" turning it on, and the only way to get wifi connection is by turning phone off and then on again (seems like a known bug, but nothing seems to fix it)
So what I want to do is to keep Wifi On all the time, but always use Mobile Networks unless I want to connect to wifi...
Any idea?
I had the same problem a little while ago, other software worked for me.
There is a workaround that helped me when wifi was stuck
Go to settings and search wifi hot spot! Turn that on and off and try if the normal wifi is off again.
It doesnt work always, but you can try. But i would say put some new firmware on the phone!

if you go to settings, you see wireless&networks. you can click on "more"
you will see Tethering & portable hotspot click on it, and there is the option for the portable wifi hotspot.
enable it, and disable it again, next thing is to check if you can turn on wifi the normal way again.
i hope this helps for you!
Will give it a try!! Thanks!
I am having serious wifi issues on my T-Mobile P769 20f Jellybean which makes wifi pretty much unusable.
I have the following advanced wifi settings:
Keep wifi on during sleep = always
avoid poor connections = disabled
wifi frequency band = auto
When I am connected to wifi it will be for no longer than a few minutes before the connection drops. Sometimes it restarts on its own. Sometimes I need to kick it by toggling wifi on and off.
When I am connected I have piss poor link speed, only 5 mpbs. The connection is very slow. It took me on the order of 5 minutes today to download "wifi analyzer", an app which is less than a megabyte.
When I set wifi frequency band to 5ghz, I don't even see the 5ghz network which my dual band router (Asus rt n66u) has created on a separate SSID altogether. I only see my 2.4ghz network but trying to connect to it by clicking on the name does nothing.
When I am connected to my 2.4ghz network I have changed the ip settings from DHCP to static and that doesn't seem to help as other threads I have read suggest. My connection still frequently drops.
Finally I wish to try changing the wifi power saving setting by dialing *#0011# but that just yields "invalid MMI code".
Does anyone have any ideas? I am at my wits end with this wifi that is unusable and I am currently roaming so cannot turn on my data. It seems to me that this is the infamous Jellybean wifi issue but maybe not.
Any help is appreciated.
Yeah jellybean has a lot of problems, ice has the best Wi-Fi driver. I think wind 21b has good wifi, it's been awhile since I've been on that Rom, so I might be wrong. Maybe we can port the wifi driver from ice to the jellybean, not sure if we can though.

It may sound stupid but have you checked that your router firmware is up to date? Other than that I would try a backup if the problem wasn't pre existing. Last resort reflash it.

I had this problem whenever I have any "battery saving" app running (Battery Saver, Juice Defender, etc.). Turn them off and have my wifi on all day (or maybe using Llama / Tasker to turn wifi off at night) solves my problem.
