[Q] How to change Orange ROM on Mozart

Is it possible to change the ROM on a Orange supplied Mozart?
I understart Orange might withdraw warranty and/or support but would HTC will withdraw the manufacturer warranty as well?
Not possible at this time , we first need HSPL for that .
and you lose warranty for orange and HTC .
Hmm, so in this case if i unlock it and use other SIM (e.g. O2, Vodafone); will I be getting the phone and software updates from Orange or HTC ?
Oh..
Did you buy the Phone from Orange or O2? I'm not talking about the Sim but the Phone. If you bought it from orange then you will get updates from the orange website or call orange support. If you bought the handset from O2 then you will need to go to O2 for help.
I got my Mozart as an upgrage from Orange and it's unlock now. Any software update from Orange annouced?

Atrix Orange UK SIM Unlock firmware

Hi guys I have just bought a Motorloa Atrix off ebay that comes unlocked but it is the UK orange model. I have a couple of questions regarding the firmware.
1. Do I have to use the Orange firmware updates if I want to officialy update the phone (for example when the gingerbread update comes out)
2. If it is the case that I do have to use the Orange firmware will it then re-lock my phone back to orange.
3. Is there any way of me installing a debranded firmware on the the phone without bricking it?
Any help would be much appreciated.

1. Yes you do!
2.No it will not!
3. Of course there is! Check my thread to Unlock your bootloader http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1302423
Then head over to the atrix developer forum and choose a ROM to download. I personally recommend Aura or Darkside for starters. But if you like stock android without the Motorola stuff Cyanogenmod is great!

Can all parts of an de-branded mozart be updated with zune?

Hi all,
When I debrand a HTC Mozart (in my case a TMO-DE), can I use Zune to update all parts of the device (os+firmware+radio+bootloader/spl) ?
After my (extensive) research here in the forum i understand, that:
Only the os will be updated by zune on a debranded mozart. the radio and the bootloader will not be changed and stay at the version of the htc rom from debrand process.
Also this can lead to problems with the camera and color banding.
The only way to update the radio and bootloader of a debranded mozart is via RUU.
To completely debrand a phone, so u can use zune to update everything, you have to use goldcard.
Ansar gave some advise how to update the radio and bootloader of a debranded phone with RUU here and here. But unfortunately I didn't really get what he meant. Could some please explain this to me in a little more detail?
Please correct me if anything I wrote is wrong or incomplete !!
Thanks to all !
jones
PS: I ask this because I want tethering on my TMO-DE Mozart and Deutsche Telekom is not going to release a tethering update, but on the other hand I don't want to start flashing (custom)ROMS. I really got used to the comfort of updating with zune and don't want to always flash new rom via RUU when microsoft releases an update.

Flashing Official Sony Firmware

Hi,
I've seen a few threads here about flashing unbranded firmware, I have a Telstra branded (Australian) Z5C . I want to know if I can use the flashtool to flash an unbranded firmware WITHOUT unlocking my bootloader or voiding my warranty in any way. Can someone confirm that I can do this?
Long story short I don't want to wait for Telstra to "optimise" Marshmallow for 6 months before I get the update. I would like to be able to get it as soon as sony releases it.
Any help appreciated, Cheers.
You don't need an unlocked bootloader to flash an official firmware. Plus, if you want warranty, you can flash back the telstra firmware when needed

Debrand and OTA question

Hi there,
I've got myself a XZ1 which is currently locked to the EE network within the UK. If I flash to the latest generic UK/European firmware, would the phone then pick up the OTA updates as Sony make them available rather than having to wait for EE to release them? Also am I correct in thinking the network lock won't cause any issues, but the phone will remain locked to EE after the generic firmware has been applied?
Thanks
Kev
