I was wondering whether any developers are considering making a 4.4 KitKat based rom for our device, or can this not be done?

Kitkat is just released, give the devs some time. We probably first have to wait for CM 11/10.4
Ok dude, its just ive seen custom roms already made for other devices on youtube already and they look cool

Those are not bugfree and the only port we can do is a CM one
Oh ok

And mods, please close this thread as we already got one in General Section discussing KitKat. Please continue there.

Quick question but why bother about asking for 4.4 rom shouldnt we be focused on a stable cm rom first ? So others can be ported that people want and also making future cms eaisier ?

Yes there is, see this thread:

Seems to be just for lightning Rom or villain Rom.
But not for stockrom,...
A file would be cool.

I think there is an explanation how to do it for "any" rooted rom. Of course it is far from being straightforward... As an android newbie it would take me a lot's of time to get into it, but it might be possible to do for more experienced users.
But the main problem here is still how could Samsung let happen that setting Desktop permanently actually requires hack
Yep, for more experienced users,...
Think not for me,... ;-(

Is this being considered or does anyone want it? Thought we'd have something because its an HTC device and the software would be more "easierly" ported? Surprised no one else has brought this up.
Isn't it just a launcher.

Facebook home is a launcher, yes. The intent of my question is the ability of the DNA developers to be able to port the htc first rom so that we can have an AOSP version of android that works full as HTC has made it rather than spending time doing it themselves reading over lines of code, logcats and so forth.

Just because HTC made it doesn't mean it's any easier to port to our device.

I would like an ION kernel for Jellybean sense roms please!
I have some stuff ready to go, but no kernel = failure
Did the sense 4+ rom have a bootable kernel in it? And did you ever get it to boot?
Thanks, Chevy

No I was unable to get it to boot all the display libs were using ION so that's what we need. I've been thinking about the ION kernel for a while I think I know what to do

Any way we can put out a new cm10.1 kernel with tweaked pmem values? Seems to be behind some reboots on our end.
Then again, if ion is closer - that would probably solve the same issue...
Thanks!

hope the nexus HTC One Rom helps that

Anyway to have the ROM not have the SuperCID requirement? I still have S-ON on my device.

Super cid is not a must.. It's a plus but not a must.. It's mainly for Asian users since we didn't get a official ics update so we had to s off and update our firmware using other carrier firmwares..

As stated above kernels are device specific. There are custom kernels for the 3vo already just find one that is compatible with the rom you are using.
What rom are you?
