Issues with a spare amaze

I've recently rooted and had some issues with my personal phone, which I've cleared up with help from this board and members, and have actually enjoyed messing with my phone, its been fun learning about android and the possibilities with these phones. But with a bit of hesitation on going at it again with my phone, and how screwed I was when I couldn't get it going for a while, I thought I'd browse for a spare phone, anything, something old to screw around with and really practice on.
well, don't I find a 'bricked' amaze in my local classifieds! so $50 later I have myself a spare amaze to mess with! This phone powers on and goes straight to hboot, and I thought sweet, a factory rom upgrade and away we go. but it wasn't so easy.
this phone is a telus, and was relocked, but the one thing I noticed on this one that I didn't on mine when I flashed the telus rom is that this one has a 'security warning' under the relocked banner at the top of hboot. For the life of me I can't seem to get an oem rom to upgrade this phone. I've tried 3 different sd's, formatting etc. downloading the telus ruu zip from lots of different sites, trying with sd out then installing it when hboot loads, with and without usb plugged in, you name it I've tried it, and I cant' seem to get a stock rom to load.
hboot checks for ph85diag, then ph85img, finds it, checks it, then checks it again and back to hboot. No matter what I do, it won't ask to upgrade, and even trying out other ruu's it'll at least tell me that its the wrong file. Funny thing is in all of this I've already done this on my fully working amaze, and it worked right away, the only thing I'm thinking is that security warning banner, if that's in any way preventing the install.
any thoughts?

unlock it done
you're kidding, its that easy? I thought about it too and didn't try that. First thing I'll be doing when I get home
what I was screwed by was I did the exact same thing to my good phone, I re-locked it, and loaded the telus rom and it went easy, no problems, and I tried the same with this phone, and no dice
did the unlock trick work
I'll let you know in a couple hours, the dud's at home and I'm stuck at work with computers that encrypt everything connected to them no screwing around (to a certain degree) at work
yup worked, had issues with wifi/bluetooth but bulletproof fixed that issue, all is working again, thanks, I can't believe I didn't think that would work before!

[q] bricked evo 3d cdma

So, long story short, took the Phone into Sprint so they could look at my headphone jack (was cracked and left ear bud would constantly cut in and out) because its acting up.
Gave the Tech the phone without the battery in it (since he didn’t need to power up the device to clearly see the headphone jack has a huge crack in it) but I left my SD card installed. As he was walking away, I asked him if I could remove my SD card and he let me, then seen that I gave him the phone without a battery. So, I ended up giving it to him (praying he didn’t turn it on and see ViperBoys sick ass ROM booting up) and he accidently pressed the power button turning the phone on. Promptly short after, he removed the battery when the phone was on the HTC screen, didn’t even get the boot animation. I was like OHH $h!t, that gonna mess up my phone & sure as $h!t, it did… Just loops in and out of that screen resetting each time with a little vibrate then looping.
I can get into Fastboot and use ADB, I’ve flashed RUU’s, put Stock image on root of SD and let recovery restore (losing my CWM & my HBOOT 1.400), unlocked, relocked, wiped, thrown, and screamed at it with no luck.
I did do a CWM backup before even setting foot in the Store, so I do have a backup. The 1st thing I tried was restoring it through CWM recovery and that didn’t stop the looping. I can still get into fastboot via power + vol down and adb functionality is still there.
HBOOT is 1.50 and s-on is enabled..
Been reading through threads since lunch and tried many different solutions without success. It seems once a phone is this far gone, people stop responding.
Anyone have any ideas?
New phone will be here tomorrow (free of coarse courtesy of Sprint insurance) but I’ve been without a phone all day and most of yesterday. I’d like to get this one back to stock and booting before I trade it in for the replacement tomorrow
So you ran an RUU and it still didnt work? And you're sure the RUU SUCCESSFULLY ran without any parts of it failing right?
If that's true, there's no hope AFAIK. Try to get it not to show the bootanimation by bricking it further.

Yup, RUU ran though fine and finished without error. Thing has been rooted since Revolutionary came out with the 1st rooting scheme for the 3D.. Flashed tons of ROM's never had this problem.

My only explanation is that while he removed the battery some of your hardware got borked. This can't possibly be a software issue.

BUMMER! In case the question comes up I ran "RUU_Shooter_S_Sprint_WWE_2.17.651.5_Radio_1.06.00.1216_NV_NV_spcs_1.42_release_233304_signed" and it ran just fine.
Hmm, hardware issue. Dont see how I can check for that if it doesnt boot.
Guess I'll just have to wait for the new Phone
try to fastboot oem lock it from fastboot. Then RUU, see if that works.
Why even get this one to work if you are getting a replacement?
Sprint is just going to put the phone back to stock....

The HTC unlock went as expected. Followed the directions to the "T", then relocked, checked in fastboot (not that I could check anywhere else, LOL) and the phone says "*** RELOCKED***". Ran 2.17.651.5 RUU successfully to the finish. Still looping
WEIRD!

Because I just want to know WTF happened!!! Had this Phone since release, abused\used the hell out of it by flashing ROMs constantly, restoring backups, tethering like crazy, emailing, texting, FBing...
No reason for it to crap out on me from a simple mistake, not even of my responsibility, lol!
The only issue I've had with this Phone is that damn headphone jack 1/2 way failing..
Got new phone, terrified to even think about trying to flash new ROM though

Same problem with me happened.. Except I had hboot 1.5 and I went one month or two without rooting because I was scared to brick it. I ended up rooting it with desperation and I found my one true love ZR3D rom.
BEAUTIFUL, FAST, plus 4.0 skins ;D. Do it man

DONT TEMPT ME DAMMIT! lol! Just been without a phone for almost 3 days. I'm also seeing a lot of new threads about people experiencing what I've gone through.
Woops, sprint\HTC! once again rooted, and running viperROM.... SWWWWWET!
HBOOT 1.5 and s-on is a *****!
Not to mention... But in Linux, I never got revo recovery to flash... You can do it in windows just do it via fastboot.
Took my Orig cwm bsckup "recovery" & "boot" .img and threw them @ the phone via command prompt.
After cwm was restored, I restored my 4\29\2012 backup that I made before I entered the Sprint store, now my phone is back to the exact same way
It was. Pretty Damn sweet!
So much info here!! I'm truly thankful!!!

[Q] Rooting Pantech P9060

Sorry if this is in the wrong subforum, and I'm sorry to cause trouble if you have to move it. I've been a google-searching lurker for years now, but I made an account just to ask this question so again, I'm sorry if I placed it wrong.
Yes, I have a good old Pantech Pocket P9060, good ol' 2.3. I love the little thing but like always, I want to get this thing rooted. I've rooted before, but it definitely wasn't as difficult as this thing.
Every website I've been to, and my google searches are all purple links now I've been at this for hours, make it look so fracking easy (it's such an older model, after all), but for some reason mine just won't budge.
I downloaded and installed JDK, I've got the ADT bundle, I've downloaded the packs, I've got the drivers, I've got SuperOneClick, I've unmounted the SD card, I have it in USB debugging mode, I've followed all these webpages to the letter and for some reason it just won't work for me. I've done literally everything, but obviously there's gotta be something I'm not doing hidden in the void that is the steps to get this thing rooted.
I've tried having the SD mounted, I've toggled a few options, I've reset the phone while it was plugged in, I've manually updated the drivers...nothing.
There was even one page that said to dial some #*#* number but it wouldn't let me type in the whole thing, it was one * character too long. I just can't do it.
S1C keeps freezing at "starting adb server" which I see is a common problem, except they usually end up getting it resolved by doing something that, in the end, doesn't work for me. I'm past the point of pulling my hair out. What is this things problem? What am I missing?
Again, sorry if this is out of place.

Seeking Stock Rom for soft bricked LG Sunset LGL33L on Straighttalk.

Seeking Stock Rom for soft bricked LG Sunset LGL33L on Straighttalk.
Hello, I need the help of xda on this one.
I installed kingroot on my LG Sunset (Lollipop) yesterday and everything was fine. Then I ran Super-Su-me and it soft bricked.
It won't get past the LG-Life's Good screen unless I leave it for 3 hours and then it moves to the Tracfone screen and stays like that.
I have searched all over for the stock rom for this phone and have not had any luck.
I am trying to use KDZ_1_4 to flash it but I need the correct .tot file and the .dll file
Can anyone help me on this one?
Thanks.
Anyone?
Tried to factory reset via stock recovery?

I have the same phone and same problem. rooted with kingroot, ran super-sume opened super su it downloaded and said it needed to reboot and in reboot it is stuck on lg screen. tried factory reset but it starts and goes back to lg screen and stays.
I'm in the exact situation as you. Have you been able to solve the issue yet?
I am pretty much having the same problem. My LG Sunset boots to the Tracfone screen and just sits there and does nothing. I cant even boot into recovery or anything.. I hope someone finds a solution to this cause I have not been able to use my phone for a few days.

Hey man, you need to get another phone asap. For tracfones, it's pretty much the end in cases like these. I actually got another exact (lgl21g) model from ebay, so that as soon as i get the time, will see how i can (if possible) get my softbricked device revived through my new one. But i have yet to research and at all costs, avoid softbricking my new one. As for now, no one else has any idea for a solution.
It kinda blows me away to know that the android community is completely oblivious to these kinds of recent low end, but useful android devices coming out on the straight talk service. For affordable androids, they're kinda neat. But it sucks that Tracfone has completely annihilated the essential utilities that such devices need in order to be revived by the user. I mean an actual bootloader menu to do modding and fixing through. The recovery option on these devices are pretty much useless.
But if you can. you should reply with a description that tells how your device was soft-bricked. As in, "did you use kingroot then Super SUME, which caused your device to freeze on LGs boot logo screen"? If so, then you are one of the many out there who xda needs to listen to, and heavily, i mean HEAVILY REGULATE these eff-ers [http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/paid-software/supersu-please-t3110954]. Because they need to specifically do more research into why their S~H~I~T~T~Y app is... well, S~H~I~T~T~Y! There are people out there promoting this app as though it is absolutely flawless and works on any android, but such a claim is far away from the truth, and these crap-app makers are only breeding more effing lying trolls. And sadly XDA mostly supports those big thugs with flagship phones problems ONLY. Not the little people like us, we're kinda on our own. SuperSUME is not supposed to force anything on the phone if it's not compatible, working something like kingroot if not being able to find a root method, then just telling the user it failed. Instead SuperSUME does something that effs it all up. Which is pretty much worse than malicious s/ware by itself.
So just hang on to your broken fone for now since it's not completely lost. Though you can take it into walmart and see if you can get a replacement, but I cannot promise you that i could come up with a solution, since I'm learning this crap from scratch as well. The only lead i have for now is to "Flash the device with it's firmware", which we know tracfone isn't gonna just hand out like free air. Sadly i'll have to reach out to XDA developers to help me once i describe this issue and experiment with whatever software out there that can help, if god willing.
FYI I just saw your post and Straight Talk sent me a new phone lol. Of course I didn't mention that I was trying to root it. The problem was actually McAfee Security. I didn't think about switching the setting off that locks the phone down if it's rooted. I made sure I did that on the new one and KingRoot worked just fine. ?

LG L164VL you smart guys can tell me can't ya

i have a LG L164VL it is rooted or was I don't use it as a phone anymore it's my streamer gotta have one right I do a lot of streaming to tv I'm a cord cutter in sorts i did a factory reset now it will not get past where it says looking for updates i thinking it might be bricked or might be easy fix. I've used it t
As just a streamer for a few years worked great for little things and streaming hope you guys know maybe how I can get it back thanks have a great day
Help with the messaging here
I get a message saying someone replied I can't see anything I don't know how to use this site I guess
How did you root it?
KingO root
I used king O Root everything was great for a week or so then something happened it just started acting funny I shut it off and the next morning I powered it up and everything was downhill it stopped at the safe start so that's what I did and it took off to start loading. It was like it was factory reset it started going through the steps of that got past where it looks for the sim card well I took that out long ago its sole purpose is just for streaming and you know searching internet for streams it wasn't a phone anymore never used it as one other than at the beginning when I first got it got past that into the looking for software updates and that is where it got to and that's as far as it will go I don't know what do you think I have did a factory reset to try that was no help same stopping point I don't see any of the backup apps not 1 Ann I know they were there.....Thanks for looking I hope someone has answers so I can get my streamer going Thanks
well, if it is bric you can try anything and see how it goes? have you done anything besides KingRoot?
IDK if there is any downloads for this like stock images or whatever, guess not.
I'm hoping for some info of ANY sort other than 'no root' or 'brick'.
