Those pins are for Qi charging. The NFC pins are above the battery.

No I believe that's the ID chip for the s view cover so the phone can tell the color of the case, genuine product and type of s view (tall or short, although I don't believe the short windows will come out for our notes
no those are the wireless charging pins, the sview pin is the bottom one of the 3 which is clearly missing on that case

No, those are not for wireless charging. They are mounted low enough to contact the bottom 2 pins, which means they control the S-view features.
The charging cover would have 3 pins there plus two pins higher up to contact the NFC pins (if present the wireless charging coil would interfere with the built-in NFC antenna).

I didn't use the ground pin shown in the video or by the juopunut devs, but instead I used the USB port for my ground.
If you touch the right combination of pins it'll turn your phone into a fully functioning sexbot. I'll leave you to experiment with which combination of pins that is.
the thread about the touchstone mod tells what the pins are for... they usually are for charging without wires through the battery door

Hi guys i used to have galaxy s2 before i bought the galaxy note.my s2 used to charge in the background even though am using it.but i found note dont charge the battery when am using it.i dont think this is a special feature samsung gave it to customers i never saw a device having this type of issue. Is anyone having same problem. Is there any solution for this. Thanq guys
That's because the phone uses more power than the stock charger provides.
This is normal, but you may have better luck using a different charger.
How long have you had the phone? And are you using the stock wall charger?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
Are you using an overclocked kernel? If so, that along with high brightness setting and using the stock charger could cause that to happen. plus it takes a few days of full charging amd discharge before the battery is calibrated.
Am using it from 2 months.am using original charger.

I had the same problem. If you get the wire at the AT&T store that is a charging only wire it seems to provide the phone with 1 amp of power from the original charging block. Or you can buy a wire off eBay like I did and it does the job.

Which ebay seller? Many sell bogus charge only cable...
Download current widget https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.manor.currentwidget&hl=en
Use a 10 divider and if the widget shows 990-1000ma then you're good as far as the charger.
Now even with 1000ma chargin, if the screen is on, playing music, and navigation. It will either stay the same charge or charge very very slow. (very)
CobraCables... I purchased 3 six foot charging cables. One was broken and the seller asked no questions and sent me a new one. All cables come with a 2 year warranty and are high quality.

I recommend a 2A charger like the HP Touch pad unit. The phone only draws as much as is needed. It also come with a good quality and thick cable.

My charging cable hasn't really been working well and I just noticed it only has four golden colored prongs inside of it. Can anyone confirm this isn't correct before I order a new one?
Edit yea its not the cable this thing is just barely charging.

Is it the OE cable? And charger? If its not that's your problem.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
mine does the same thing from time to time. if its charging slow unplug it and plug back in, then make sure the red light is on. i have noticed sometimes when i get a email or text and the charging indicator goes off(red light), it seems to only be trickle charging per say.

I don't think I have ever used the charger & usb cable that came with my Note 2. I have never had any issues with it charging. In fact, I am currently using a Motorola wall unit with a no name cable upstairs, & a cheap wall unit from Walmart & the cable from an Acer tablet. Both charge fine.
I'm using OEM charger and cable I installed an app called galaxy charging current and its showing a ridiculous fluctuation. I'm thinking it may be a faulty charger. It charges much faster on my car charger.

I currently have this car charger:
http://www.amazon.com/PNY-P-P-DC-UF...fkmr2&keywords=usb+2.0+car+charger+pny+2.1amp
When I first got it, I shorted the pins to force it to charge in AC mode. Now that I know it is capable of 2.1amps and our phone can accept similiar amperage, will I need a micro usb 3.0 cable for it to charge at 2.1amps? Or will my old galaxy s3 usb 2.0 cable be able to charge it at 2.1 amps as well?
Bump for update

No, a USB 2.0 cable will charge at the same current as a USB 3.0 cable (1800mA with the screen turned off, 1200mA with it on).
If the max is only 1.8amp then why is our charger rated at 2amp?

Overhead.
sent from my sm-9005.
Change the color to black and it's less than half the price. Isn't there an app that will tell you how much current it is drawing while charging?

I believe there is also a loss of energy during the transfer of energy. The process is not 100% efficient.

The app is in the Play Store and named Galaxy Charging Current

Anyone tried using a magnetic mount like this with a qi insert tag? I'm concerned the magnetic strip may interfere with the charging.
Has anyone tried any sort of metal case that interfered with the wireless charging?
