hello,
i search a 2g/3g toggle who work depending on the quality of reception of the telephone network.
I explain:
If the strength of the network is low(value custumable or not), desactive 3g to save battery and when it high or middle , active 3g.
Thanks
no one want a app like this ?
I surprise !
I think there isn't any apk which toggle 2g/3g.

Hi I am looking for a 'working' flight mod app or widget. I have used several so far but they are not turning off data. Its annoying at night when all is quiet at home to suddenly get a notification coming in. The little plane icon is usually there but the data is still on. So any thoughts on one that works on our phones with a rooted stock rom or modded rom? thanks
You can turn off "data" Settings in 4.2.2 (Settings > More.. > Mobile Network > untick Mobile data) or you can use the default Power Control widget to toggle data on and off..
if thats what you mean...

I'm using SwitchPro Widget setted up as notification panel toggles and it works fine except the torch.
OMG it does not work, didn't noticed before couse i usually untick wifi, data and sync before to set airplaneode on.
So any other app is working?
Thanks for the replies but the real issue still exists that even though the flight mode is activate in settings i am still getting SMS's and emails coming through and this morning when it was switched off there was no data at all coming through, maybe a reboot will fix a few things but that shouldnt be the case, should it?
I did a search for data switch apps and found one that switches off the data so that may do instead of a flight mode one. thanks again for your replies
Notification Toggle
Give it a go, it works

Hi, I've weird problem, when I click on network mode tile in quick setting panel or in network options I can't change from 2g to 3g or opposite. It happens only when mobile data is on, it was working before I made clean reinstall of Resurrection Remix rom 5.0.4, now I must turn off mobile data then I can change network mode. The function that I described was also working on PAC man rom, but rom was unstabble so i pick RR. Is it modem fault or maybe rom? Can it be fixed?
i think there is a separate tile for changing between 2g and 3g . the one given by default only helps you enable or disable mobile data . check in tiles and scroll down .. you might find the tile you want . all the best and happy flashing
Yes, you are right, but before I made full format I was able to change from 2g to 3g without disabling mobile data. This is the story: I was running PACman jb nightly. There was tile 2g/3g, it was working even mobile data was on. I think after clicking on this tile it was stoping mobile data, changing it from 2g to 3g and enabling data. I made dirty flash from PACman to CM11 and finaly to Resurrection Remix. Tile was working like in PAC, few days ago I made full format. Installed 3 files old rom, and came directly to CM11 and to RR. I think that described feature was in PAC tiles, can I import to RR only this part of rom? Maybe I'm wrong and it's kernel fault, now I'm on dorimanx 10.43v89 cyberneteus. Plase help me this is cool feature and I would be pleased having it back.
is it not in quick tile settings in the extra rom features menu?

Great idea, but we won't know if the signal is back to normal while airplane mode is ON .

Oh ya that's very true, I never thought of that, but then what about Turning Airplane mode ON, for a specific interval, then ON again to check whether the signal is better, if not then turn on Airplane Mode ON again... is that possible? Or maybe instead of saving battery it might end up draining it more?

Yep, it may drain more power that way and it may keep you unavailable on some periods when the signal is normal.
This app is extremely useful especially with the two whitelists. One thing I notice is when I have my wifi manually turned off already this module turns it back on each time I turn my screen back on.

Yeah i know, but why you would like to use the WiFi feature if you turn it off manually, we can remember the previous state of the WiFi while screen is going Off, but the delay that WiFi service may take to get fully activated may lead to wrong state report doing a fast screen Off/ON/Off.
Let take an example: if i have WiFi activated, and did a fast screen ON/Off, the saved state of WiFi may switch to deactivated because of the delay.
Any ideas are welcome.
When away from wifi I usually try to keep it turned off. The update seems to work perfectly for me now. Everything disconnects and reconnects lightning fast. Thanks @wanam you are the one of if not the best dev.

Thanks for the great module
It would be nice if you add an option for cheaking network activity(30 seconds for exemple)and if no network traffic is detected then turning off 3g or wifi.

Searching for a way to activate 2g when connected to Wifi. Possible to implement it?

Android does that automatically by itself. Look at Settings > About phone > Status > mobile network state when Wifi is connected.
Not on mine device. Lg g3. Checked recently while connected to Wifi

I would recommend implement this option as well since it well check network activity with a customized threshold before disconnecting 3G
Thanks again for a useful module! Have used it and whatsapp messages don't come through. Just add that to the white list to make them work?
It is not stable on LG G2 mini, It reboots when the screen is off
Sounds like a good idea in theory, but I have found that switching to 2g when the screen is off with similar mods (like Gravity Box's Smart Radio) can make for an unpleasant call experience. I much prefer to just disable LTE when the screen is off and stay on 3g as the call quality on the 3g network is much better on the 3g network than on the 2g network, at least on T-Mobile US, anyway. I have found it to be of little difference in battery life between 3g and 2g networks, but I guess for some this may be useful.
