Hello all,
My Note 3 touchscreen is freezing. When I restart the phone it works temporarily then it freezes again. ... I can use the S-Pen on the screen and that works fine.
I can even unlock my phone using my fingers on the touchscreen and that works, so I'm assuming it's not a hardware/touchscreen issue.
Here is what I have tried to resolve issues but it still doesn't work:
1.Soft Reset
2.Hard Reset (everything erased)
3 . Clear cache from boot screen.
Any advice on getting this to work would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have an SD card installed? Try removing it and see if that helps. I had a problem similar to this once on an HTC phone. Problem was the SD card.
I've had the issue since I updated to MJ4 firmware. I've also had issues with the voice/data connection being lost. So it could be the firmware you are on
same here

Hi
I've just received my new SGS II a week ago, and I have been noticing that it randomly restarts.
It seems to occur without any reason and the restarts both when I'm using it and when it's just sitting idle.
I wonder if it is related to ICS or if it might be a hardware problem. What do you guys think?
When it restarts it shows the samsung logo and all but it doesn't require me to enter the pin for my sim card.
Cheers!
Backup data and factory reset .
Test if its still; a problem return to service .

Are you rooted? Using official rom or custom?
If official and never rooted, have you tried hard reset the phone and install everything back?
It's stock ICS and a hard factory reset seems to have solved the issue.
Thanks to both of you
There seems to be a weird issue with my Galaxy S3.
I had installed the Omega ROM v36 (upgrading all the way from v23 i.e 24,25.. serially) without wiping the data.
The phone was working fine until a few days back. Then suddenly the phone used to hang(like old nokia phones).
I tried calling the sim number and the call was going through but wasnt getting anything. The screen just stood there.
And then i had to reset the phone (Power 8 seconds) every time it happened.
Today I wiped the data and freshly installed the ROM. The same issue still exists.
It is really irritating. and even after reset-ing the phone the phone hangs the same way!
Please help someone.
Should I go back to stock? Something else?
Please!

But the problem is since v34!
I tried installing every update.
Nothing helped!
And which SD do I need to format? internal or external?
Did you experience this screen problem before the custom rom? Lets hope its not a hardware problem.
Try formatting your internal SD. Don't think your ext SD could affect it, though eject it just in case. Return it to stock as much as possible.
Hey guys,
I was using my phone, everything ok but SUDDENLY it seems to have some touch issues! Sometimes the touch is unresponsive, for like 0,2 / 0,3 sec. I press and I have to press it again. That's frustrating!! Especially when typing on keyboard!! I thinked that the problem was caused by the ROM ( maybe little lags ) and I changed ROM, but the problem is still alive!! The phone didn't fall, this happened suddenly!!
Can someone help me?

Clear cache/ dalvik cache/ factory reset and see if this helps.
Also, did you dirty flash your ROM ? This usually happens if you dirty flash a ROM. Always start fresh.
Secondly, if you made backup and trying to restore it, that might cause the problem.

I tried to wipe.. but same issue. I always did the wipes before flashing a new ROM, so I think the installs were always clean. I tried to flash a firmware with flashtool, but same result..
Is there a solution for this? Now I'm trying to flash Gingerbread firmware, but I think the problem will remain..

Well, 0.2 seconds is a very small delay. However, if the problem persists, I suppose you should check typing speed/sensitivity in settings.
I suspect you have alot of applications in your phone and Xperia U has only 512 RAM which is not enough to run JB smoothly.

Nope.. I know that our device can not run lot of apps, in fact I have just some apps, no Facebook and something like that..
Anyway, for example, I did a touch screen test : it works in all zones, but, if I touch the screen 10 times, only 7 times can be "received" from device

Maybe the digitiser is having some sort of problem. This is usually caused by humidity / water in your phone in small amount . I hope I'm wrong.
Clean your screen thoroughly and remove screen protector and use ultra thin protector instead. See if that helps. On my devices smudgy screen has problems with touch .
Same issue here
Im also having same issue here..
it is taking only 6 out of 10 touches. a few regions not responding to the touch
same problem with me, i hope some people give best solutions for this issue
Maybe it's caused by charging the phone with non-official chargers. It overcharge all the hardware and can easily damage it.
Anyways if you have warranty you can flash the original ROM, relock the bootloader and bring it to Sony.
So,
I bought this phone on the day it was launched, its been more than 3 months and had no issue with the device. I rooted the phone , experimented with Xposed and other apps but for the past few days i was experiencing this strange problem. Cellular network was not running on my phone, i changed the sim, swithed the devices on/off several times , did everything i could do in the os, changing the mode to 3G from LTE and vica versa, etc etc .. but still no luck. The cellular network sometimes comes and goes. Then i opted for last resort which was to factory reset the phone, after resetting it the cellular network worked but i don't know if this is a permanent solution. If you have anything to add please share.
Regards,
Saransh
Sorry nothing much to share but i suspect you install some apps or did something to your rom so the network screwed. My suggestion is you nandroid backup every week (at least) so you can revert back when something happened.
Tried factory reset
I have tried factory reset but still having this issue. Maybe it's a hardware issue. I don't get it , everything was working fine few days ago then all of a sudden this **** happened.

Maybe exposed screwed something. Get a microsd card with whatever rom you want in it. reboot to recover and try full format. insert the microsd after then flash a rom. see if it works
Rooted my phone with sudamod rom, Everything is working fine.

if your phone is not rooted or unlocked .restart your phone when your battery is very low like you have power backup just for 10 seconds.

if your battery is 2-3 years old, try changing it with new one.. mine was struck in bootloop, tried flashing but didn't worked out.
it got fixed by changing the battery
So...sorry for forgetting...if it helps anyone:
i left the phone for about a week...then i decided to try again the "tricks" because i really like this phone..
i removed the PIN from my sim card, inserted it in the simtray and tried to call my nuber from my girlfriend's phone. i tried it like about seven times ... nothing...
then i went to make dinner and suddenly remembered i was waiting for a call and rushed to take the sim to my working phone...and when i ejected the sim....voilá... it started working again...so i deactivated the poco launcher and now i'm using the nova launcher and it's working fine...
Anyway thanks for the concern to all that answered...
For me, the phone boots fine if I remove SIM card. Once booted, you can clear data of poco launcher and it'll work fine for few days.
