1080p - videobam . com/IehLG

Now, my question is, Is my cellphone good, or have a problem?
the S2 can record 720p or 1080p but can take 8mp (3456x2304 almost 4k hahaha) pictures ;D
so... its good :highfive: don't worry

Is the continuous autofocus in video recording for SGS2 ONLY works in 1080p?
I know its impressive to be able to record in 1080p with continuous autofocus,
but for me, 720x480 is sufficient
if i set the resolution lower than 1080p, the camera doesn't auto focus any more in video recording.
Am i the only one facing this problem?
is my unit defected or with software problem?
Please let me know whether you guys able to get video focus in lower resolutions.
Thanks!!
for me its more less the same..the autofocus is there but u cant notice it that much...i think lower res means that the camera doesnt need to focus 2 much on details less pix less focus correct me if i am wrong
but yeh u can feel it a lot more with 1080p
Hello hunteres,
Thanks for replying
I'm very sure there is no autofocus in the lower resolution,
start video recording outside my house (very far, focus at infinite)
put a book infront of cam, about 10inch away (focus change to macro, words on book become clear.
(only works in 1080, doesn work in 480)
Its weird that the 1.2GHz dual core able to record at 1080p but not 480p
Do you think that x10's video recording at 8.1HD cam is worth of a HD video?
I disagree.... Because indoor videos are never clear and it can never capture fast videos!

It is HD, albeit not the greatest video recorder. I've seen a lot of video recorders that are worse. 720P video recording via the X10 is a lot sharper in comparison to 480P recordings. Image quality is definitely improved.
HD doesn't automatically mean super amazing video, there is a lot more that you have to take into consideration. How is the image processed, FPS, bit rates, lighting camera sensors and so forth.
See my comparison below for 720P vs. 480P. Shot with two different X10s, one with the 2.1 update and the other on 1.6 (these were recorded long ago).
480P
720P
sorry for my bad english .. I would like to know if there was any mod to implement the video to 720p as the 'S2 has 2 mp camera .. Thanks for any replies =)
Tryb with lgcamera.
Megapixels do not have anything to do with quality of video recording.
I think 720p is not possible with our frontcamera.

This. The Galaxy S II's front facing camera is 1.3MP or 2MB (can't remember the exact spec. of the top of my head), so while you could bump the resolution of the video feed up to that of 720p, it'd still be rubbish quality, and quite pixelated.

Hi
Does anyone know if there is a big difference in battery consumption when comparing 720p video recording to 1080p.
I can image 1080p using more but is the difference big enough?
Recently, I noticed that 720p recording mode is quite wider than 1080p on my s2. It is simply far superior as it gives more to view. However, I noticed that 1080p makes the camera automatically zoom in and screw up the video by making it zoomed and pixelated.
My question is that 720p "Looks" better but all monitors/tv in my house are 1080p and in the future screens will be even bigger, will my 720p videos look like crap compared to the 1080p ones?

Yes . 1080p uses more lines than 720p. Screen on phone means nothing as not hd. You can upscale 720 but better to stick with 1080p. Wonder if the s4 has ultra hd built in as this will hopefully be out later this year . Before you ask it should be one of the two thats bin submitted either 2160p or 4320p. Like hd befor both will get aproval I should think.
