P.S. I haven't tried it yet... waiting until the Motorola specific apps get ported to 4.4 also (rely too much on touchless and active notifications).
i tried it the past few days..things have caught up to what cm10.2 is quality of build..there is issue with the framework not picking up a plugged in headphone.
speaker sound works great. it is pretty smooth for the begin stages of the kitkat kernel
Camera Question
Does this ROM flash the Nexus 5 Camera to the Moto X? I know that some that have flashed the new 4.4 camera (meant for the Nexus 5) have had icon alignment issues, just curious if this is the case here.
Downloading now. I've been messing around with kitkat on my gnex. Guess I'll try this to see how it is supposed to run but I'm restoring a backup shortly after. I love active display and touchless controls too much to lose

I just ran this and it worked great. It came with both the Google now launcher and aosp launcher 3. I had no freezes or reboots but I noticed scrolling was rough and jittery. Also the larger icons in the launchers look stretched out and blurry instead of sharp edges and good detail. I didn't run it long but I didn't notice any of the graphical glitches plaguing the gnex builds. Everything ran fast and smooth. Just scrolling wasn't good

How about trying to put the SU binary in the ROM zip itself so that the ROM is pte rooted?!

Got it! Thanks! Real tempted to flash. But Unlike touchwiz on the S4 I had, I actually like the Motorola baked in stuff so far.

Already has the su binary in the xbin, it seems the system will not mount correctly, I assume it could be an issue with recovery
Edit: issue was with superuser it self, found a update for supersu 1.65 and it enables root access.
Exposed will not work with kitkat, speaker phone doesn't work, graphical glitches still. It doesn't really look much different than jb overall

1. According to the thread, the TMo version can be flashed on the Vzw Dev Ed.
2. According to the OP on rootzwiki, the propriety bits and pieces, from the TMo leak, have been added to the current build.
I flashed this ROM last night and it runs very well but there is no volume in the speakers and on the phone ear piece. Is there a fix for this or did I just screw this ROM up.
Sent from my XT1060 using Xparent Cyan Tapatalk 2
Flashed it again and got volume but really, really low. Started getting UID inconsistent messages every time I rebooted the phone then apps started disappearing like titanium then I couldn't redownload any of my rooted apps on any other ROM I flashed that followed the 4.4 rom. Plus I always got the inconsistent UID warning. Ended up doing the rsd lite back to factory default. Now just running stock with the Google Launcher

Okay, so FIRST OFF, I'd like to avoid any flak I may take for this guide lol. Also, I'm not gay or anything. I just prefer not to sound boring and unclear, unlike a lot of people aha. Before you start saying, "CyanogenMod iz da [email protected][email protected]!" and "Yew suk newb unlok yew bootlodah!," I'd like to point out that SURPRISINGLY ENOUGH there are a lot of people here who haven't been able to unlock their bootloader, thanks widely to T-Mobile USA. -.- So there are many people who have root and recovery, but are unable to install ROMs and feel unsafe flashing European phone versions, only to mess up and screw over their phone's digitizer with no knowledge of how to fix it! Alright, so to all you experienced users, disregard this section aha! Basically I'm teaching you how to root and gain CWM access in a broad 3 step process. Enjoy!
Click to collapse
STEP 1.) Root your phone. If you're on JB, use THIS METHOD. You don't need to do the spritebud check, just run the application provided and it should root you. After you do this, install the Superuser app from the Play Store that was developed by CLOCKWORKMOD, and start it and select "install" on the popup dialog. If it failed to install the binaries, run the LGPwn application again and do it a couple more times until it works, if it doesn't, ask for help on his thread.

STEP 2.) Install busybox and CWM. Go to the Play Store and download the BusyBox app made by Stericson, and install busybox. Then go into Artas' L9 Recovery Installer, and install that. You can find the recovery HERE.

Click to collapse
STEP 3.) When you power on your phone, the LEDs should flash repeatedly for about 3-5 seconds, in order to enter CWM Recovery, press the VOL DOWN button and it should load up the menu. DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING YOU AREN'T SURE ABOUT.

Before you freak out, yes there is customization with rooted phones that doesn't require an unlocked bootloader! The best of which is done using the Xposed Framework, a guide that I made HERE. Check out that guide, it's also a work in progress and YES, I know, it looks hideous. I'm not good at formatting on forum posts, but HEY. I'm learning.

Alright, so you've either continued to read here because... 1.) You're a rebel who didn't click the LINK DARN YOU, 2.) You've themed your phone with Xposed (AWESOME), or 3.) You didn't want to because you're a BORING LAZY POOPFACE. With that being said, ever seen those stupid QSlide apps that you MAY or MAY NOT use? You can't remove them on stock. They take up space and make it look all.. blegh. BUT! There's this really awesome guy named @mateo1111 who created a mod to remove those pesky space-wasters from your precious notifications! AND, if that wasn't enough, he created a mod to make your notification bar PITCH BLACK. It looks absolutely, undeniably, SICK. Here's the links to each of his posts.

Now, there are also modified applications available, in various colors and formats. I personally am a huge fan of transparency, as I use a setup with a (usually) galactic wallpaper, and set that as my keyboard background using "Kii," and have my epic background in all the apps I use But how would I do that? Well, "Team Blackout" has made it easier than ever! I'll leave links to their stuff below I highly recommend their things, and they actually complete orders and requests. It's amazing, and I can't turn back to the bright white and ugly color schemes that Google uses in their applications. Check these out guys

There's a TON of apps in the Play Store (More than iOS now W00T!), but the best are often hidden among the popular Chinese ones filled with advertisements. (Go Dev, I'm looking at you.) So without further ado, here are the applications that I absolutely recommend without a doubt to ANYONE with this phone, or any phone, for that matter.
Textra - This is a given. It's a texting replacement app, and its ingenious Group Chat feature is unrivaled and is cross-platform. It even has an amazing feature to turn on data only when sending/receiving MMS. Amazing. Also, it looks a lot like the "Kik" app if you know what that is. I personally am not a fan of that iOS/Android-blend kinda UI, but it's doable I guess. I recommend using Hangouts for SMS now.
Next Browser - Wow, Go Dev Team actually made a decent piece of software for once! Don't get me wrong, I'm no developer, and couldn't do any better, but their applications are bloated into eternity. Sadly, I've watched this browser get more bloated slowly and slowly, but at least they haven't advertised their other apps in it yet. ANYWAYS, this browser is really fast and smooth, but doesn't sync across devices like Opera/Chrome/Firefox, so sorry to multi-device fanatics.
A replacement launcher - Smart Launcher, Apex, Nova, Holo, Action, anything but the stock LG Home. Please. It's too slow and wastes RAM, and is kinda blegh in my opinion. But to each their own.
Duolingo - Learn a language. Seriously. Do it. It's fun on here. The tools are amazing and it's simply... simple. Spanish/Italian/Portuguese/German/French, and more being added in time. You can also learn English, but I don't see how you'd be reading this..
Bible - Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, and do not take this as an offense, however, if you are a Christian, this is the most useful spiritual tool you can get on Android "Got Questions" is another good one.
Kii Keyboard - Simply the best. If you know how to use the "Freedom" app, you can crack the in-app purchase to get the full version, not that I recommend it. I've used this since the beta in January (I think it was January) and it's simply gotten better and better. Swype couldn't lure me back.
Music - Omich Player is the best music player on Android, if you want to listen to music. There's apps with 50 different equalizers and a ton of crap I don't want, when I just want my music. This one does just that, using the older Play Music style. It also sports an option for a transparent background.
WifiKill - It kills Wifi. Kicks people off of the network using a simple, yet effective, ARP spoofing method. It literally takes a touch of a button. Great fun when in school or university, and you feel like messing with the teacher or

Swapped DSP for Awesome Beats, swapped CM file manager for for Root Browser, swapped out camera for moto x camera, swapped out browser for dolphin. Removed cm settings and replaced with vanilla nexus settings.apk, added in Sony x4 video player, Nexmusic and 4.4 gapps included in ROM and a nice Beats Audio Blizzard boot animation.

Rom seems a little bigger than most, are Gapps included? Or do we still need to flash them too? Downloading now to give it a shot.

Great mods in the rom. Do we need to flash through cwm and install superuser like other 4.4 roms?

Just installed and so far so good. Only two things ive noticed so far. I get an error each time I reboot about the Qualcomm time stopping. And if you try to swipe with the keyboard it will just disappear. But apart from that very slick and smooth. I'm loving the Moto X camera

I'm a big fan of the moto x cam. Best thing to come out of Motorola I had the Qualcomm error once but not since. I think its the timeservice.apk I took from another device. Just need to put the t0lte one back in that's just a guess though. Have u tried any other 4.4 ROMs with swipe? Just curious if they have the same issues. I appreciate the feedback so quickly. It is pretty vanilla at the moment but you gotta start somewhere

I have the same qualcom error. Comes Evert 5 min or so. Else it seems responsive and nice!
Edit. Aosp keybored crash on swipe as reported before.

Sorry about that that's quite a lot. I'll swap out the timeservice.apk and see if I get the same error. I had it once on bootup but never again so I didn't think it was a big issue.
Again apologies.

Hey no worries. At all. Always love trying out new Roms. Vanilla is good. Nothing wrong with that at all. And with xposed working again things are looking good. No stress about the error. It's not a biggie at all. As for the keyboard Ive only had that issue once on an early build of 4.4 but I don't use stock long enough to really worry ?? great work though brother. Very nice.

Any issues with proximity sensor not working at all ? In all other 4.4 roms I have tried this has not worked at all, meaning I have had to turn the screen off during calls to stop unintended button presses.

I'll have to put a link up for superuser. Flash that (you can grab it from any n7105 4.4 rom) so u get root permission and delete timeservices.apk and problem solved that'll save another 300mb download for you.
Downloaded rom - installed by TWRP v2.6.3.7 coming from lion rom 4.3 - no phone service and says baseband unknown. any ideas please - as this has been repeated no matter how many times I installed the rom. I feel it is sleek.

That's weird. Did you flash anything else? All you need to flash is the build zip and gapps. Don't flash SuperSU as it is included in the build.

Flashing
1. Do Full backup
2. Full Data/Cache Wipe
3. Flash Rom
4. In Aroma choose the 9005 Kernel otherwise it wont boot
5. Dont Restart phone
6. Flash Buildprop.zip (otherwise data wont be stable)
7. Restart and Enjoy (takes 10-15 min on first boot)
You can use your kernel of choice with this rom for me Civz Kernel works great but Alter and Lean work as well

@kyalejamison curious as to why this rom - DarkLord s6 rom is flawless (I used the fixes from the 2.2DL rom - apn and build prop and I have everything except being able to send MMS). Is this rom more stable than that ROM...just curious no need to flame me.

I did the samsung 6 launcher and am happy so far. Actually I'm super impressed! Toolbox is working, screen mirroring.. The only thing missing is xposed but not even missing that. I do like the pullup app too but I just run Nova Launcher and solved that issue. Great job man! I'm really loving the new features and so far everything is working great! I'll keep digging for any issues but so far I'm not finding any
