[Q] RAZR adb not installing safestrap - Motorola Droid RAZR

I'm trying to install Cyanogenmod on my Razr, so I'm following the steps by trying to install Safestrap first but adb isn't working correctly
C:\Users\#\Desktop\RAZRDroid\ADT\sdk\platform-tools>adb install C:\Users\#\Desktop\SafestrapSpyder3.63.apk
Whoops: didn't find expected signature
read_central_directory_entry failed
file 'C:\Users\#\Desktop\SafestrapSpyder3.63.apk' is not a valid zip file
rm failed for /data/local/tmp/SafestrapSpyder3.63.apk, No such file or directory
This is the error I get everytime I try to install. adb does recognize my device and I have 3rd party sourced checked along with developer options enabled.
I've also tried installing from my phone but get a " 'Parse error' There was a problem parsing the package."
I've tried using the default File Manager & ASTRO to no avail.
Is there something I'm missing?

Try redownloading the apk. Might be corrupted.

[Q] Flashing Rom, No signature error

Im downloading the rom, right clicking it, then zipping. I then used adb to push the rom onto my sdcard. I do the wipe but when i flash my rom it tells me.....
E:No Signature (1444)
E: No verification
Any ideas? Im also using a mac if that makes a difference
If you download the rom you don't need to zip or unzip it. Just put it straight on the SD.
You're removing the "signature" that emulates HTC's rom.

[Q] Unable to update razr, No blur_facebook.apk

I have been trying to update my droid razr to the latest 6.12.173 from verizon, but the update fails on 'Verifying current system'
The error is:
apply_patch_check("/system/app/blur_facebook.apk"...
When I first rooted my phone I deleted this apk by accident. (noob mistake, I should have froze it instead)
I have tried replacing the apk with one I downloaded from 4shared, but I don't know if it was a working file or not.
I have also tried a factory reset and still have the problem.
Is there a way to replace this file or get around the verifying process?
Thanks for all your help.
You should be able to grab the right apk from a ROM dump. You'll probably want to use something like Root Explorer to copy the file so you can set the permissions on it.

[Q] Razr Maxx, Problem flashing "[MOD]External SD as Primary/Internal"

Hello, I apologize for my ignorance, but I am having a problem I have been unable to find a solution to anywhere on the site. I have a Moto Droid RAZR MAXX running Gingerbread 2.3.5 and am trying to flash the mod "[MOD]External SD as Primary/Internal" which should swap the internal and external sd cards. In the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1545292 it just says the flash the switchSD.zip file. By this, I assume, perhaps incorrectly, that I should boot to recovery mode and select "apply update from sdcard". When I do this, however, i get the following: E:signature verification failed Installation aborted. Does this mean the mod not compatible with the razr maxx, or am I just going about things all wrong. I have also tried RSD Lite, but it says there is nothing in the file it can work with. I appreciate any help anyone can provide. Thank you.
Choose .zip from sdcard option, try that.

Thanks, but I think that is what I am doing. There is no option that says from a zip file. It when I select "Apply update from sdcard" I am able to navigate to it - its in the root directory of the external sdcard. When I select it it begins, saying: Finding update package, Opening update package, Verifying update package, and then this is where is says the signature verification failed. Installation aborted. Do you think it is incompatible with the razr maxx? From what I have read, if it works on the normal razr, it should on the maxx as well? Maybe? Anybody tested it? Unfortunately I am unable to post this question int eh thread relating to this topic, as I am a new member. Thanks again.
Well, I thought I would update on my progress in case anyone else is having the same problem. I was unable to ever get the mod to flash on my Droid Razr Maxx, as it just says "Signature Verification Failed". I did eventually get it to work though. I had to take the file "vold.fstab" out of the zip file, and copy it to my memory card. I then used Root File Explorer to replace the original file in the directory /etc. For some reason I could not get it to just overwrite the original - I get a message saying the phone does not have enough storage space for the file, even thought there is plenty. I had to delete the original, then I was able to copy the file successfully. This seems to work just fine, fixing my only real problem with this phone. Perhaps someone can move this message to the proper thread, as I am unable to post there myself because I don't have enough posts.
Thanks for figuring this out! I was having the same problem with my Droid Razr!

Verizon OTA update failure

I've been trying to complete the ICS OTA with no success. I was rooted. I defrosted all previously frozen bloatware. I used Voodoo OTA rootkeeper to hide root, I uninstalled superuser and Bionic Bootstraper. The log info is below. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I tried to get individual files like that (eventually got them all) but the install still failed with a sideload error in the preinstall part of the process. You may have to resort to wiping the phone to get that config file (and probably many others) back to stock. Titanium backup is your friend.
Here are the instructions I used (second set, but I didn't need to use the Modified 1.6, just the regular 1.6): forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1692694

When removing bootstrap did you just delete the app or did you open the app and use the uninstall feature? That makes a difference

Whenever I try to update my S3 using the lineageos updater and TWRP it always fails with Error: 7 and right above it it says Can't install this package on top of imcompatible data. Please try another package or run a factory reset. Btw i've already tried wiping and starting fresh but to no avail.

nvm turned out that the zip was corrupted
weird even with the right zip it still fails. I tried both pushing and installing it from twrp and sideloading it through twrp.
