[Q] [Urgent] SafeStrap 3.62 Won't Boot on ME7 i545 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

I want to cut it to the chase, but I am going to attach a video too because this may help!
I had safe strap installed on my i545 Verizon Galaxy S4 on Me7 and I installed several different roms with no problem. Today, I was rocking the eclipse rom, but decided that I wanted to return to the hyperdrive rom that I had yesterday.
I know the Rom works because i had the exact ZIP file flashed and working yesterday...
But now I flashed it and then the module files and when I reboot it stays on the samsung boot logo and will not show safetrap... its just stuck there...
I don't care what it is I need to do, even if I lose safe trap or root, I want my phone fixed. But I'd love to keep it if possible
Im freaking out but I can go into download mode and some weird blue recovery mode if I hit Volume down + power or Volume up + power.
What are my options?
Thank you so much!

Yes of course, that does nothing Can I just reinstall the stock firmware with odin?

Yes, I would try this --->> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2301259
Pick your appropriate build.
Then if all goes well, you can re-install safestrap and see if your ROM slots are still viable.

Thanks for the quick replies! I will try that now I really hope I didnt do any permanent damage. I thought that safe trap does not touch anything that will harm the device?

It shouldn't have. Unless you may have accidentally tried to install a rom to the SAFE (Stock) side and something went wrong.

If you can get into download mode then Odin should fix you up.

You are on mdk? hence the "blue recovery" .

[Q] Possible Brick, Looking For Help!

Hey All,
Pretty much a noob here.
I rooted my phone recently, then tried installing TWRP via GooMananger, but upon reboot, it sends me into the "Downloading... Do not turn off target" screen instead of TWRP. Any reboot returns me to this screen so Im assuming I've screwed the recovery mode. Is there a way to restore this? I was running MJ7 if thats important.
If you need more details let me know.
Thanks in advance!
Scratch that, found this shortly after panicking:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2568780
Just had to do a power, volume down, home reboot and select "cancel" to get back. However, Im still not able to install TWRP even after trying again. Based on some reading, it looks like this might not be possible still on MJ7. Is that true, or is there a different way to install a custom recovery on MJ7?
Thanks!
Tim

Ok first off there currently is no custom recovery for the galaxy s4 running MJ7 only those on MDK can get a custom recovery. The MJ7 release is fairly new and only has root available.

Ok, so given that, it's safe to assume that there's currently no way to flash a custom ROM to it?
Thanks for the help, even just having this info is extremely helpful!

As of right now there is no custom recovery for MJ7, so no custom ROMs. But Safestrap is close. Keep an eye on that thread.

[Q] Help! Flashed non-loki boot and now getting Software unauthorized by Verizon

Guys I am in dire need of some help. I have a VZW GS4 i545 and I flashed the new 'merged' version of PHilz touch for the GS4 only to find out it is non-Loki'd so now I am getting the error message "Software not authorized by Verizon".
I know I need to use Odin to get back but I don't know how to use it to replace the boot loader.
Can someone please tell me or point me to a step-by-step?
I've Googled this many different ways but I can't seem to find what I need.
Please help.

Jamesd1085, thanks for the reply.
But, how do I flash with the " Software not authorized by Verizon" message up?
I don't know how to get the phone back into download mode with that message up.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Pull the battery then try to get into download mode again. Here's a thread with a guide. Make sure you get the mdk file and not another one as you'd end locking your phone up.

Mistertac, thanks for the response. I pulled the battery and the phone booted into my custom ROM HyperDrive RLS 14, and I still have root.
I think I may have just hosed my recovery. While I'm waiting for the no wipe mdk to download (another 2 hours), is there nay way to just flash the recovery?
Your help is greatly appreciated.

[Q] Phone won't turn on

Hey,
I have a Galaxy Note I717M under bell, running complete stock, and recently, it just decided it doesn't want to turn on anymore.
I can still access download mode and recovery mode, but when I try to boot into system I get stuck at the samsung logo.
Is my phone soft bricked? Am I able to flash a new rom and move on? If so, am I able to recover all my data that's currently on the phone?
Thanks in advance!

Looks good, but judging by the end of that post, the phone needs to be working because it'll ask me for a password on the device at some point?

I guess its for encryption of the data, try once and see it may work
As you are stock on everything
its the only way out.
try to do these steps in fastboot mode it won't be any problem most probably.

[Q] Samsung GS4 and Rom manager

Has anyone been able to get this to work?
I have a stock rooted GS4 from Verizon, the USB debugging is on. I have ROM Manager Premium v5.5.3.7 as well as Titanium backup which works fine. I used Towelroot to root it and it seems to have done its job correctly. I have both Clockworkmod touch and the standard Clockworkmod recovery to work with, both seem to do the same thing.
In ROM Manager I can brows ROMs and look for stuff but when I tap to backup the ROM I get the name dialog hit ok and it just goes reboots to the recovery.
Anyone gotten around this?

You cannot use clockworkmod or rom manager unless you are on mdk. You are going to soft brick your phone.

MDK is the bootloader that you're on. If you bought an S4 recently chances are you are not on an MDK bootloader also if you took any OTA updates you are no longer on an MDK bootloader.

I have had it for over a year now, but I did do at least one OTA OS update at some point.
Is there a way to put an MDK bootloader back on it?
Is there a different product you would recommend for ROM backup and restore?

[Q] Questions on Rooting GS4

Hey guys, I've recently come across a VZW GS4 and I'm stuck on rooting. I know nothing about Samsung phones so this is pretty new to me. I tried towelroot and it was not sucessfull even after entering the different codes. The picture below is of the "About phone" section in settings. If you could just point me in the direction of a thread that would help me or let me know what do you, I'd really appreciate it.

So I flashed the first thing, as per your recommended post and wifi will not enable afterwards. I open towelroot v3 and it asks to be connected to the internet. So now I'm stuck there. Any advice?
YOu need to flash modules or Goglies wifi fix

How do I flash in ODIN? Just the same place as the NC5, under AP?
EDIT: Okay so not in ODIN. Like I said, I know nothing about Samsung devices. Seeing as how it is a .zip file I assume I need to flash it in a recovery on the phone. I jumped to conclusions with the wifi fix so I am now going to actually look up the proper way to apply it.

Is safestrap just the stock recovery or is it a custom like TWRP or CWM? And another thing, whenever flash an old firmware so I can root, it doesn't seem to actually change. I'm still at NK4 every time I change it. You know what I'm doing wrong? I've looked into a few different posts nothing is working. I've tried towelroot and Kingo.
And I suppose I should actually address your reply instead of just going on a tangent, I did and it put the phone in a bootloop and I have yet to address that. I just reflashed NK1 deal with it for the moment.

That is the thread I've been looking at most actually. But I just can't catch a break. Every time I try to download the files I want, my G3 fails instantly and my friends Wi-Fi just won't download at all. I think I now know an even better reason to why I've never bothered getting a Samsung haha.
