Hi new to forums but big big fan. I have seen the problem i face posted on many forums including xda but not with sufficient information. So here goes.
My partner bought a galaxy ace from virgin here in UK, it came with 2.3.3 pre installed after 3 days texts stop sending with 3g on but still be received. But when wifi is on or packet data or 3g turned off texts send. Now my partner had problems with germ previous phone abduction doesn't want to root in fear of needing tech help in future, now we can find a temp fix using automateit but not ideal for her. I will also note my sister got one on 3 and the problem hasn't occurred. Any other ace owners got this / fixed it without root and new Rom? Virgin CS is useless so not had any help from them. As i said i know this subject has risen before but just needed help as virgin will NOT reduce bill even though Im sure its their problem.
Any help / ideas?

I haad the same problem on one of my SGA', However it is on Orange and i had the exact same problem, this exact problem didnt start untill 2-3 days after purchase. I found NO fix for this..1 week later i flashed to 2.3.3 KP7 not the original pre-installed stock rom..Ever since flashing the problem has not reoccured.
I hope this may point you into the right direction,

i got her to give in and let me root, and install official 2.3.4 on it using odin, but problem still there, so what install a earlier non network rom to fix? i thought the official 2.3.4 was non network specific?
Glad she gave into let you root her sga, thous im sure she wouldnt have notice it if you dont it without her knowing
Anyways back on topic,
I advise you to Flash (USING ODIN) to S5830XWKPW, CSC - S5830OXXKPC. This should rectify your issue

ok nice, but im a little confused about this, with my hero all data had to be deleted before flashing, but with galaxy ace you dont?

Format /wipe cache from Recovery Mode then enter Download mode.

captcha was also a problem for me, Use the audio captcha

Can you use any custom roms if your on orange uk ?

Hi everyone my partner had to re-root my fone last night and it seems the new root is not letting me get text messages i can send them but not recive them!!! is there any way to take my phone back to it 1st ever firmwear???? kies does not work on my model.
PLEASE HELP!.. been to other sites no one seems willing to help im at my wits end with it not i need my phone as my sister texts me when she needs my help or is in trouble as she had surgery recently and im first port of contact. Would it be better if i re installed firmware that should be on it please please help.................

You can use Odin to flash to stock firmware or
could you just restore service provider APN?
Pre-paid mobile service providers use a message centre number as a gateway to deliver your text messages
sometimes your APN settings might be lost
simple fix : Call the customer care of your service provider asking for sms/mms/Internet settings
And they will send you a configuration message,save it..Done
And in the future ,make a backup of the APN .

Go Here Flash fresh Stock Rom that's it
Hello dear XDA Forum.
I've got a bit of a problem with the Samsung Mega 6.3 of my father. Up until now I have flashed it every month or so with a new rom, but now for the first time I have encountered a problem I can't solve on my own.
After flashing a new Cynogen Mod Rom the Smartphone stopped recognizing the Sim-Card, it won't even let me make a Emergency call.
I've tried several othe Roms now (Broken, other Cynogen Mods, Aokp) but with every rom I get the same error massage "com.android.phone has stopped working".
The only step I got into the right direction was, after reading alot of post about the same problem on other devices I saw that mine didn't have its IMEI anymore, I flashed the original IMEI with an exposed module but the error still remains.
I'm at a standstill and have now idea what I could try now.
Does anyone of you have a clue what the problem could be?
