I saw the same thing this morning. I hope Samsung/Sprint hasn't done something to make it even more difficult to root the phone.

If you got to Settings > General > System Update you can uncheck "Auto Update"
Menu/Settings/General tab/Security/Security policy updates

I did locate the security policy updates however no Auto Update can been seen in the menus. If I search for the key words auto update I find it and it's checked. Un checking takes me to the below screen shot. Problem is Un checking won't stick.
Edit: Just realized this is the Sprint Forum for the Note 3. I will ask the question in the T mobile area, sorry.

Yeah, However the N900T does not allow me to disable Auto Updates. Searching for it using keywords brings it up but I cannot uncheck it. They make me Auto Update. LOL

I'm rooted and I received the same update when I woke up today. Still have root and haven't noticed any issues yet.

I received the 4.4.2 Verizon update and periodically I get a pop-up that wants me to sign up/sign in to the Samsung website and become a member before I can read the privacy policy. Since I do not have access to this policy as I will not sign up/provide marketing and SPAM information to Samsung I have to decline the option each time.
How do I prevent this unreasonably frequent demand for my personal information interfering with my use of my Note 2/Verizon?

are you rooted, customer recovery? your request is pretty vague. if it's the .6 point release it's just bug fixes. I installed it day one and have had no issues.

I don't think so, even if it did it's a quick fix. The point was more that there was a total lack of information in the OP. maybe I should have told him it would turn him into a troll :O

I was on gtalk with faux123 and sent him the OTA update. He took a look and determined that the .6 update disabled the HTC information mining and logging. I'm not saying that it did not effect the heat issue, but it was mostly for the logging.

HTC information kinda monitors your phone for issues and when they happen gets reported.

Can someone explain the difference between the "AT&T Software Update" item in Settings versus the "About" then "Software Updates" option?
As far as I can tell the AT&T update takes a lot longer to check for updates and can only be done once per day. The About/Software updates check takes less time and can be repeated as often as you want. But I can't tell what they each actually check for.
Do they check for different things?
Will only the AT&T one get the major updates?
Is the About/Software updates only check for apps?
I am trying to figure out what the value of having both is. Thank you!
If it makes any difference, stock AT&T 4.1.2, not rooted.

This is the discussion thread for Hashcode's release of CM11 for the Note 3 Developer Edition. Do not flash on a Verizon Retail device. It will brick your device.
To download the ROM, go here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600883
cam30era said:
I take absolutely no credit for any of this. I did a little research and flashed the international N3 version of CM11 on my DE this morning. It's working fine so far. FWIW, I've not tested everything, but after one hour I've not found any notable bugs other that speaker phone (mic doesn't work).
Go here >http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588892
For Gapps, go here >http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps
You'll have to edit APN settings to work on our Verizon network. Go here >http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2535920&page=72
Note that at the bottom of post #718 it explains how to get in to APN settings, which are grayed out.
And Post # 716 gives you our Verizon APN settings.
Note that I also edited the build.prop as follows:
ro.product.model=SM-900V
ro.product.name=hltevzw

This could be a daily driver, except for SMS not being able to send. We are going to need help to be able to use CM11 on our devices. I am going to flash this again, in a day or two and get a logcat. I'll post it here in hopes that someone can help us figure out what the problem is.

The data dropping is also an issue for their phones, and the devs seem to be getting a handle on it. The SMS issue is ours, alone. As such we will need help from someone with a DE to solve, I suspect.

not that i am aware of. not many roms to speak of for verizon if any. i am running viper beta and it is very smooth and very minor issues. great daily for me
I am running tams latest build and it's fantastic! 4g works, 3g works, camera works, text doesn't. I can receive but not send. Phone is running cool and fast. Very impressive considering the state of things last week. vzw dev edition. On a side note does anyone have any idea why I'm receiving but can't send text?

In the OP I posted a link on how to access APN. Quoted here > "OK so I was messing around in settings under mobile networks when I pressed carrier settings it immediately FC's settings but when I went back in mobile networks I got two notifications (just ringtone) and I now have access to my APN settings. Weird huh anyone else done this?
Edit: I have to hit ok on the fc prompt and go back into mobile networks before the notification sounds. If I'm fast enough the access point names won't be greyed out anymore"
Be sure to click "save" before exiting editing APN.
This does work. But after changing APN to VZWinternet, we still have the same two problems, i.e. can't send SMS and can't hang up from a phone call.
The problem is not with APN settings. These affect data, LTE, 4g, mms, etc. And we can edit APN for VZW.
I suspect the root of the problem lies in build.prop commands. I made a few changes to build.prop related to network, radio and ril. Result was either no effect or would not boot. This is too complicated for me....
The method is to be used only and ONLY to prevent getting locked out of your OWN device and works practically for every device out there using Google Keyboard(maybe others too) bypassing the Factory Reset Protection:

This was in fact fixed in the January release.

Yeah it is fixed so you can't enable developer options straight away, but there's a way around it as google hasn't fixed how you reach the dialer and settings, though I don't care to share more.
This was only meant for people got stuck out of their phone and locked phones don't update, so no worries.

Yeah and the guy is a f'kin ninja stealing from other people's work. Someone had the instructions pasted with a video, this clown deleted it and is ranting on it as if he reinvented the wheel.
