So apparently there is a problem with using data abroad with another provider's sim. The Acces Point setting is unable to be changed. I was told the S4 had the same problem which just recently was fixed by Samsung in a firmware update.
Nice.... Was really counting on this feature sitting here in Barbados and next week in Spain..
Any gurus here who can fix this?

Never mind. Found the fix for the S4 and same applied for our Notes. You do have to be rooted and not afraid to add a snipped of text to the build . prop file..

I got the success on flash note 3 with the other cdma carrier , without SPC code.
but without spc cant possible to unlock it for GSM carrier.
anyone pl help me to get SPC/MSL code?

you get it?
The 90 day thing is for the phone. If it hasn't been active for 90 days they open a case and call you in 24-48 hours depending on their work load. I had mine unlocked the day after release. It can be done from the international chat. It's different than the regular chat.

ok, I see the "+" button goes to the "add APN" but everything is grayed out so it can only be used to switch between existing APNs but not adding a new one.
However I've just tried to use APN manager Pro and I was able to add an APN without modding the build.prop

Also from my experience with traveling with modded Sprint's Note 2, it is easier to download xml file with huge database of APNs and inject it with APN manager pro. Some lists are here:

This way when you insert a SIM card it automatically pics up a correct APN.

Also, if the phone is not active on your account for at least 90 days (which is the problem for me)

they told me since i was under a spending limit that they cant unlock my SIM card on my gn3, but i do hope someone comes up with a process to manually unlock it, they did give me my msl code though........
No problem here getting it unlocked within a week of getting the phone...

probably not, if going through Sprint, it'll only be unlocked for overseas SIMs, not domestic ones.

That's the process for the Note 2 and S3 that someone has changed the title of. The code they give doesn't work at all on the Note 3.

hi! I bought a Sprint Note 3 on Ebay. to make a long story short, phone is global. when dialing *#06#, it was giving me a MEID. it has a sim slot even tough it's with sprint witch is a cdma carrier. I called sprint and they give me a 6 digits code, telling me it's the unlock code. after a few research on google and messing around in the phone, I now get a IMEI number after dialing *#06#.
when dialing ##0011#, i see NETWORK: UNBLOCK. the phone work on the same frequncies as my carrier I'm trying to unlock the phone to. but I never found the key pad where to enter the unlock code to actually unlock the phone (supposed to restart the phone with the wrong sim card and a "please enter unlock code" prompt should appear, but not me). I used it to get in the data hidden menu (##3282#), and that it. my sim card does not work, and I'm out of options...
Somebody knows what to do?

Yes call sprint and have a account with them and the phone in the us because it can only be unlocked ota from them

This is a flashible zip to fix mms messaging on sprint galaxy note 3. Your phone must be active on metropcs with working internet. Remove sim reboot into recovery flash the attached zip then reboot to system. Mms should now work but if u have sms enabled in hangouts it will mess up mms. You will need to go to settings in hangouts and disable sms. I was able to edit hangouts.apk to make it work, it works very well mms even works sending and receiving while connected to wifi but have not posted it.
For me on mj4 apns would not stick active unless I left sim out

Verizon note 3 dont need anything done to stock SecMms.apk verizon works for metro or cricket also there no need to change mms settings
In epst just edit apns-conf.xml and delete telephony.db

Flashed on my Sprint Note 3 (MJ4) flashed to MetroPCS working talk & data. After flashing from recovery and rebooting get "messaging failed" op-up error on the home screen and the regular messaging icon turns into an android figure and app now called "com." something. I followed directions by enabling Global settings and checked MMSC settings and are changed to the MetroPCS address. I downloaded GoSMS and am able to send pictures but can not receive. Any suggestions

U flashed the zip in op correct it should not mess up messaging app I tested many times redoenload reflash and let me know also not sure y u put in global settings don't set flashed phones to global set to cdma only unless ur meaning activated global roaming apn but u said global settings

Hey oakieville I finally fixed mms on my phone!! Thanks a bunch when u sent me all those zips I opened them up and immediately saw my problem..u leave them as sprint but just replace the MMSC, proxy and port addresses so I just went behind and replaced all the ones you changed to metro with vzw, deleted my telephony.db and profit, so thanks again cuz I wouldn't of figured it out without u!

Doesn't work. Someone is just rehashing what worked on older galaxy phones. I think it worked for S4 and they just assume it will work for Note 3.
This isn't the first site to post this. I believe it requires being on 4.1 if I remember correctly. Check the domestic unlock thread, I believe someone posted the same thing there. @Epix4G, you even commented the post in the domestic unlock thread

Hey,
The unlocking was done by one of the mobile repair shop in my home town through an unlock code. As per apn settings I was unable to make any changes to the apn at all.

Apns are always changeable root the phone edit apns-conf.xml make mnc in apns matches for the gsm carrier u useing delete telephony.db and reboot but u shouldn't have to do that after sim unlock is done and usa gsm block removed u should be able to set phone to gsm in mobile networks settings and edit access point names and get signal talk txt and data with no problems what gsm carrier are u useing. Did u try dialing ##3282# select edit enter spc go down to more then go to lte apn setting

There is nothing when i go to the apns. When i click the settings i get an option of restore default settings only nothing else.

If u edit the apns-conf.xml using mnc that matches sim card and go to that menu restore default u should be able to see the apn u edited

Maybe off topic a lil bit only place I think I can post I just got of phone with t mobile they said if I call sprint and unlock my phone I can bring it over to t mobile. I just called sprint and unlocked for china. Question is has any one did this before and of so will it work. I don't want to open account with t mobile of it don't work. Thanks in advance

I know that their is a solution for note 2 sprint but never heard of note 3 sprint
Got this on a trade. I opened up browser and it seems previous owner was looking up on how to retrieve msl. I opened up the service menu and it says cert failed. I odined back to full stock and even did the 727 key pad and it still says the same thing. Does a Sim card have to be inserted to even connect to the sprint network? It has no bars with the little x over the antenna. Is there anything I van do with this phone? Its on nc5 and imei is different from what's on the housing but both read clean and register as sprint note 3. Maybe LCD was replaced?

Did you activate this device with Sprint ? If so, have you tried to update your PRL and a reboot after you odined back to stock ? A sim card is for international use.

I'll have to borrow my friends sprint sim card. I have another motherboard and it connects to the sprint network without a Sim card. That's how I know something is wrong
