What do you mean? 4.4 KitKat isn't publicly available yet so no one knows.
Oh.. right. Silly me xD
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Although, it is 98% certain it will
Why i want to know this is because i'd like to start doing some ROM/Kernel work on 4.4, or at least try . But hey, practice makes perfect

Is there any way to run Samsung apps on aosp roms? I would love to switch to running tasks aokp or cm9/10 but I would miss some of the apps that I currently have. Specifically the note taking app, s-voice (don't hate), and calendar?

Those apps are made to be universal. Should work on any ROM unless otherwise stated by the OP.

which player do you have 3.6, 4.0, 4.2, 5.0? the root methods vary depending on the player, also is it the US (all capacitive keys) or International (physical home button) as this can also effect rooting method.
If you have 2.3.6 you cant root..you will have to flash custom kernel to unlock and then root

I have the 5.0 and can you point me in the direction to do that.

No need for those words. I suggest you try RJ's Kernel. It's rooted, and it works for me. More like 2-in-1 so you can have a new kernel and also a rooted device. Good luck!

dude if you don't have any clue the difference between rooting and a kernel then maybe you shouldn't be doing anything to your player at all, so don't get all pissed off when someone tells you to use google.

I dont know if you guys know this or not, but porting rom isnt easy let alone stock firmware. You realize that not only do you have to figure out what kernel modules are needed, you also have to figure out how to make the rom compatible on a device with slightly different hardware.

So you were able to modify the linked ROM to work on your VZW S4?
Are you running, the MDK firmware still?
Want to share how you were able to get it ported?

No the s cover with the Window in it so you can view the time and check for notifications. That's why I don't use aosp cause I like that feature.
