I have next question to which im not able to find answer here. Pls :
I got married ( Im UK origin) and moved to Turkey. Due the certain internal rules Im standing here longer than i/we supposed. After 6 months from registration of my HTC ( weird..very weird) my HTC stopped working and they told me I have only one possibility - to buy new phone in turkey.
So OK..grr.. I bought Samsung GS3, rooted it ..etc. Like every my phone. Now I have here fiirmware update and BIG ??? :
Can I use firmware for UK or I MUST use firmware for Turkey and switch to english only?
Simply : I wamt instal UK version and ROM for UK and not turkey. Is there any danger for my phone if Ill do it ?
Thx for help

long story short; I'm planning on buying a Sam galaxy S II from china.
If I end up with a "asia region firmware", is it possible to change it to another firmware/region risk-free?
Edit:
also is it possible to unlock it in case it was locked?
thanks
It is possible to Unlock.
It is possible to flash any region firmware over any region firmware.
Regards.
Still the same i9100 phone, so you can put any firmware made for i9100.
Hi,
This is not working for me. I tried to flash XWKF3 over the ZCKG4 with Odin but that ended up in a brick phone. Got ZNKG5 downloaded and saved the phone but still on chinese firmware (with no app-market).
Have anyone done a firmware upgrade on a chinese SGS2? I would really like to get EU version with APP-market support, the phone is useless for me otherwise. (and I cant read chinese...)
Either you made a mistake when flashing the KF3 firmware by Odin or you flashed a wrong firmware. Make sure the firmware is full, it will be sized around 300 MB.
Regards.

Id just like to get my 2 cents worth in here so please correct me if im wrong, but ive been reading many failed attempts at this and heres what ive been thinking.
For example the galaxy s2 has this version that we have and also a 4G S2 released in canada.many galaxy models have 3G and 4G versions. Also we see Samsung releasing phones for for china or korea only.Is it possible that the Asian area also works on a different format frequency. For example an S2 firmware wouldnt be compatable with the 4G unit would it??.maybe the same type of thing is happening here cos i cant see anyone having any success with flashing between these two specific regions.Maybe there is a batch of chinese made phones made especially for the aisian region only because of this that makes it non compatable internationally like 4G- 3G regions.
from what i know the 4g s2 from canada is just a naming gimmick by the carrier there. it's still the same s2.
Ok, i read the other threads. apparently in this case failure is more common than success. so I guess I don't buy it in china.
Hi , i recently registered in Xda-developers cuz i found out some updates for my Galaxy S II.
So , my question is how do i know what firmware i have to update , there are a lot of firmwares and i don't know which to flash...
Another question , firmware update means that my android version will change to a newer one?
And finally , reading a lot of post about updating galaxy s II with Kies or Odin , i found that a lot of people had problems flashing the phone and that sincerely scares me.. I'm afraid of bricking my phone.
Anyways , there are my Galaxy S II information :
Version of android : 2.3.3
Bandbase : I9100XWKG1
Kernel : 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKG1
Clalabeltest_I9100XWKG1
Compilation : Gingerbread.XWKG1
Note: It's unbranded. Also i noticed that in the kies update at the enf of the new firmware information it says (ITV)
Can someone help me pls? :/
Check if it says i9100 under battery, not i9100G.
Learn how to use Odin to flash.
Than come back if you want help

Need Stock ROM forSGS III of Bouygues Telecom France
Few months ago I bought an SGS III GT-i9300 with CSC of CHU running stock ICS 4.0.4 ROM (bouygues telecom). The phone was originally bought in France, and later on when I came back to my home country ie Pakistan, I got it unlocked so it could work on local carriers. The long of the short of the story is, last sunday I decided to update my SGS III to the leaked polish JB ROM I9300XXDLIB_I9300OXFDLI1_I9300XXDLIB_XEO. This resulted in loss of connectivity with my GSM network. Sadly, I made the cardinal mistake of not backing up the original ROM, in case I needed to go back. So now I am kind of stuck with a phone which at best is just like a small tablet ....
Can anyone please help me locate Stock ICS 4.0.4 ROM for the above CSC region? As so far I haven't been able to do that despite hours and hours of trying.
Also, can I install Stock ICS ROM for CSC PAK/WDC on it? If so, how can it be unlocked & made to work with it?
I hope that someone can help me in resolving this issue. Thank you.

Thanks alot JJE. Didn't knew about this checkfus tool, but it sure is one very handy util. I will let you know of the progress asap.
Regards.
Okay, I used CheckFus to locate the ROM, downloaded it, wiped/reset S3 before going ahead and installing the ROM. But unfortunately it didn't help. By the way CheckFus in Product Code field says 'Not Active'.
I was wondering whether I should get unlock code, will it help solve the issue?
In continuation of my previous post, here is an image from Galaxy S3 Sim Unlock.

That "Not Active" against the product code is probably the cause. Any help will be hugely appreciated. regards
Hello, I'm new to the forum, also new to the world of android. Days reading forum, there's so much that I was all confused and worried about touching the same phone that it would not be brick .
The first few questions, the phone from my brother who purchased Galaxy S3 through advertisements, which btw does not work .
Model I9300
Android version 4:04
Baseband Version I9300XXLE8
Kernel Version 3.0.15-554452
Built Number IMM76D.I9300XXALE8
AP:I9300XXALE8
CP:I9300XXLE8
CSC:I9300PAPALE5
Phone is a retail demo application that I could not uninstall it, so I'm using the Samsung GS3 toolkit 7.0 root the phone first, then uninstall and then do flash stock rom via Odin (I9300XXALE8_I9300NZCALE5_I9300XXLE8_HOME.tar.md5), which I DL with the Samsung GS3 Toolkit 7.0 then I do wipe / data recovery also with a Samsung GS3 toolkit 7.0, and now the phone as new, completely empty. Everything remains the same only the CSC changed, now is I9300NZCALE5, since I did not find the same CSC. Does it matter that CSC is the same or not? I know it Built Number must be the same, did baseband version and CSC must be the same?
With original CSC, could not update via kis, now that it attaches throw new update but different, I could not run, does this update can this phone? (picture attached)
And most importantly the end, can anything be done to get the S3 network coverage?
Pardon my spelling, English is not my language, translation help Google.
Cheers!!!

That I was afraid of that: (. Unfortunately it is impossible, thinking of returning money.
Remains a possibility to be used as navigation, as camera, to go on the internet .... .
Tell me please, is safe to perform the update with kiss, see picture attached above, PDA:LE8 to LLA, PHONE:LE8 to LLA, CSC:LE5 to LL1?
Hey, I have been trying to return to stock, I've downloaded ODIN, but when came the time to pick a stock rom, I saw that there were quite a few stock roms for my phone (GT-19300 international) . I live in France, there are 4 operators: Orange (where I bought my phone and where I have my contract), Bouygues, SFR and NRJ, on Sammobile I saw there was a stock rom for NRJ, and I also found stock roms for the other operators (not on sammobile though, on tha site there was only the NRJ one), then came the question, do I need an orange stock rom, or the regular international one, does it matter? If it's any help, there isn't the orange logo on my phone, and I don't recall having orange apps on my phone when I bought it, but have a vague memory of me downloading a couple, although maybe anyone with a contract there can download them, I qish I could provide more information but nothing comes to mind :/ I'll try to answer all questions as best I can, thanks for answering quickly.
P.S. I'm using this guide to unroot, if you can think of a better one or if there's a problem with this one, I'd appreciate all suggestions, thanks! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27407556
AnyI9300 rom on any I9300 phone .
Stock is just Samsung firmware usually by country basis .
Vendor roms are usually branded and may have addons from the network . Vendor roms will have the correct modem and CSC .
