[Q] Strange Storage problem - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I have several strange issues with my my rooted Gnote, the strangest of which has to do with internal storage. Out of the blue, two days ago I began experiencing the dreaded "storage space is running out" on both internal storage (2GB) and the emulated sd card (16GB). Since my Gnote is no longer my daily driver I decided to wipe everything and start over from scratch. After the wipe and flashing a new rom (Carbon). I checked storage and the emulated sd card as well as my external 32GB Sandisk showed lots of space available. However, internal storage shows that of the 2GB, 186MB is taken up by apps and 2MB is taken up by cached data, yet only 209MB is available; this after wiping everything! I downloaded Disk Usage which gave me some decidedly strange results. It shows that applications takes up ~200mb and system data takes up 1.62MB with 208MB available. I don't see how that 1.62GB figure can possibly be right. Does anyone have any idea what is going on here or how to fix it?
Any insight would be appreciated.

Never mind! I figured it out! I must have hallucinated wiping the data partition. I tried it again and so far, so good.

2 Problems that could use assistance

I just flashed AOKP's JB rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30974673#post30974673).
Problem 1: I receive an error when trying to install some apps, saying "Error: Couldn’t install on USB storage or SD Card”. I read that this is external SD card related? I have found a minor workaround, uninstalling the app then reinstalling it. Anyone have any other thoughts?
Problem 2: After install, went to camera and got an error saying SD Card is running out of space. When I go to “Setting–>Storage” I have the following:
Internal Storage
Total Space 1.97 gb
Available 1.21 gb
Internal Storage
Total Space 11.36 gb
SD Card
Total Space 14.83 gb
Anyone have any thoughts? I have plenty of space on my phone, however, it seems that everything I install is being put into that first Internal storage space. This was a fresh install after clearing all data and factory setting but don't understand why everything is being there.
Thanks in advance for the help.
I have no such problem, make sure you do full wipe?

I wiped everything twice before flashing. I noticed the same problem (as for the memory) on my previous July 3rd, AOKP ICS rom. I dont know if I have a partition set up on my internal which is where everything is being saved to, which is why its filling up so quick....
Also, I cant seem to figure out how to change the save directory to external SD card for camera.
Thanks for all the help.
Edit:
---it also appears that I am unable to receive pictures through text messages...don't know if it is related at all.
I have wiped and re-flashed the rom twice already.
The storage configuration is correct. the 2gb internal is for system. 12gb is user internal storage.
completely normal.

Free up Internal Storage Without Deleting personal files and Applications

Hello everybody. I have SGS2 GT-19100 running in Cyanogenmod 12.1. Has 12 GB internal storage and 8gb of external sd card.
I have been using this for about a month or 2, its really really fast. But I realized my phone becomes slower and slower because my applications uses too much storage. Every application use about 300-400 mb of storage. My internal storage has 200mb left and same as my external sd card, too.
Well the top #1 solution is that go to recovery TWRP or CWM and wipe internal storage and cache
but I'm just wondering if I can wipe up internal storage and cache WITHOUT deleting personal files and these applications because I HAVE TO DOWNLOAD IT AGAIN and it takes too much time. If there's any solutions what would it be?
I need help ASAP. Thanks
There is no such thing as a wipe that will wipe the internal storage and keep all of your files. You could try SD maid to clean up any space that the apps may have taken. Or, you could wipe the app data manually off each app. However if there is some important app info you want to keep, this is probably what you are not looking for.
Delete the LOST.DIR folder if it exists in your internal storage. Keep all backups onto external sd. See what can be moved onto the sd card and if there isn't many, you may have figure out something else instead of deleting and wiping.

I am not able to adopt my sd card as internal memory.

So i had serious memory issues, like out of my 8gb 5.2gb was used for system data and 1gb for the default apps so i barely had room for ads , so i bought an 16gb sd card but i couldn't move all of the apps i barely could do anything on them(i dont really take photos/videos so they didn't take more than 10mb maybe). I didn't even have space to get the marshmallow update but i did some reading an apparently in the update i could adopt my sd card as internal storage and the only con was like slower speed but i don't really care for that myself. so i did a factory reset i updated to marshmallow erased my sd card memory before factory-resetting and when i finally opened the phone with 6.0 installed and went to my storage options and in sd settings all there is is eject and format, not format as internal storage, help??? also excuse me for horrible grammar/punctuation.
Right now after resetting i already have 6.2gb used out of 8gb and i didn't install one single app its all just after resetting.
Phone:Lg spirit 4g LTE(device wasnt in the main lg device page), android 6.0(marshmallow)

Not all Marshmallow firmwares / phones offer this capability. You should be able to force it from following this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-configure-sd-card-internal-t3392128

not seeing full storage capacity

On my previous ROM I had the SD card as part of the internal storage so it was all one big storage. Phone had 64gb and SD card is 128 so I had nearly 200gb
I upgrade the ROM by clearing the system, cache, dalvik etc as standard. Once upgrade it seems to only detect the SD card storage.
My settings show available 31gb out of total 128gb.
The phone system storage is at 74gb
But it's a fresh upgrade with hardly anything installed yet . Why is the system storage at 74gb?
This is on revolution os miuo 11
anyone have any ideas on this? at first i thought it may not be seeing the sd card, but i removed it from the phone and powered the phone on and it detects the sd card is missing and i dont see some apps..
Its frustrating as i dont see what is taking 74gb of my storage up. it is a relatively new install rom so it doesnt have loads of data or apps...
