[mod] AOSP camera with external SD card saving - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Well, as the title says, this is for an aosp camera that can save to your external SD card
Link:
http://prshosting.org/ftp/External_Storage_Camera.zip
Just flash the zip in recovery.
I used the camera before this and the location under gallery -> 3 dots -> details was "/storage/emulated/0/DCIM/Camera/ and after pushing the new apk (now made to a flashable as seen above) the location of a new picture is "/storage/sdcard1/DCIM/Camera/" You can toggle between storage options by clicking the bottom right icon in the camera, middle settings icon, right settings icon, and selecting storage at the top.
I could not have done this alone. I found a modded version from a Galaxy S2 thread for a CM ROM and tore it apart to figure out what was changed. All credit goes to the developers of Revolt JB ROM 3.2/JellyBam Rom. It's also thanks to ivanceci here on XDA for his thread that i found the gallery2.apk that he pulled from the listed ROMs. His thread can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2139794 Don't forget to thank him and the dev's on those ROM's if possible
I have tested this on DU and it works great. It SHOULD work on any aosp (cm, aokp, etc) based ROM, but don't hold it to me if it doesn't

I gotta say I'm surprised people aren't all over this lol. Oh well

This is great!! I am currently running SlimBean and the option is already there but this is the reason I am staying away from the 4.4 camera. It didn't have external SD saving support, and that is where I want my pictures. Either way, great work here. Is this the 4.4 AOSP Camera?

I have no idea and no way to test it. Feel free to try it, just make sure you have some sort of back up in case things go wrong.

I can't find the toggle to switch to internal storage. I clicked as described and its not there.
edit: i had to disable the old camera and reboot and then it worked. Thanks, looks good.

How did you enable it on CM 11? I flashed the file, but can't find where to switch the storage location.

I froze the built in apps and rebooted. Not sure if necessary, but it didn't give me the option before I did that.

HTC Camera on CM10?

Is it possible to get the HTC camera onto CM10 or CM10.1?
In the history of CM on HTC devices, the answer has been no because the camera is tied into Sense's framework. I don't expect that to change any time soon.

You can push the stock 4.2 camera onto an AT&T stock build and it will work fine. Instructions about 2/3 of the way down this post.
Direct link to flashable zip.

So just install CM 10 then install the camera using clockwork mod?
Alright here are two galleries with a couple pictures, I have to say I didn't realize how much the Sense camera cut off of the top and bottom. Pictures were taken with no zoom at stock settings.

Screenshots on 4.3 using the Power/Home combo..??

Any way to get this feature working on 4.3 roms, instead of having to use the power menu..?? Thanks..
If you're referring to AOSP, use power+volume down. Takes some getting used to but it works. As far as remapping the keys, I'm sure it can be done, but I don't know how.

I'm on SlimBean 4.3 and it doesn't work =( I figured all these roms were CM based but I guess not if something simple like that isn't cross rom friendly.. I love that feature cuz it didnt require you to crop out the status bar on screenshots like you have to do when your only option is pressing the power button or adding a toggle/tile.. I wonder if someone can make a zip or something with the proper permissions to use it on any 4.3 rom..!

High brightness in new torch app [CM11]

Hi, i don't know if this should be posted here, i was looking for a cyanogenmod dedicated subforum, but here it goes anyway:
I'm using the latest temasek's rom based on CM11 (But this happen in all the cm11 roms) and i can't find the 'high brightness' option in the torch app. I used to have that option active in the old days, and the flashlight bright awesome, but the default bright is kinda low.
fyi, i google this problem but i don't found answers, thanks.

funny, just posted today the same question in temasek cm11 thread. thought the option could be blocked because of some settings, but it really seems to be removed for security reasons.
but I don't really care for that (have used it for long time in past and never had any problems), I simply replaced the torch.apk with an older one from an old nightly (with the old design) and now I have high brightness back.

[Update-Newer version] Moto X Camera app for Xperia SP

Update- Upon further investigation I found a newer version on XDA. I am attaching a flashable zip in the post. Thanks to this guy - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52153586&postcount=306
IMP - By default the app takes pictures in 5MP resolution. If you want to take pictures in 8MP resolution, just disable 16:9 mode in settings.
Just like all other Xperia SP users, I was completely dissappointed with the phone's horrible camera. Upon further investigation I realised that the issue was due to the unpolished and half-baked stock camera app and therefore some users posted Xperia M's camera app which performed better.
After some little searching on the internet, I found Moto X's camera apk.
The app does wonders on our device and performs better than Stock camera or google camera app, especially in terms of auto-focus department.
So, I suggest everyone to try it out. I am attaching the apk to the post.
Works on stock as well as custom ROMS.
NOTE - Produces great results while taking pictures of 'texts and documents' where stock app fails terribly.
Bugs - Not all features are working (eg HDR mode). But the app does a pretty decent job.
Work's also with Stock Roms.

Press the ladybug icon at the bottom after sliding out the menu by swiping towards right. It is only available in the zipped version I guess. I am trying to get the new material camera app to work, I'll update if I am successfull.

I guess you used the apk. The apk and zip versions are different. Its been a while since I changed any roms so I don't remember whether I flashed some other app to enable extra settings. I have 2-3 different versions lying on my laptop. Try the flashable zip version and see if the ladybug icon appears.
Edit - If the ladybug icon doesn't appear in the zip version, try this one - http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/how-to-unlock-advanced-camera-settings-t2884035
I had used this version too.

[APP] Camera+ Stock Moto Camera w/ extra features (Updated 3/2/15)

***Disclaimer*** THIS IS NOT MY WORK, I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR THIS APP, NOR AM I RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT MAY HAPPEN TO YOUR DEVICE. USE AT OWN RISK****
Hello all! This is the modded Moto Camera+ with extra features available. Tested on my Moto X 2014 VZW. Working 100%. I have made this my default Camera
This is the orignal thread, PLEASE THANK THE OP!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/how-to-unlock-advanced-camera-settings-t2884035
This app will NOT remove the stock Camera, you will still have a fully working stock Camera if you install this.
To use extra features install Camera+, swipe out option ring from the left side, there will be a Ladybug icon on the bottom right, click that to reveal new menu.
Installation:
Download APK
Click on APK and install as a normal app
* Turning off the Wavelet noise option does the trick of reducing some noise to the captured images.
Please hit Thanks button if this worked/helped and please thank OP in OT!
*Update* (3/2/15) user @romracer has uploaded a modded version of 5.0.11.7 Please test it out and report back. Also thank him. His post can be found on page 4, post #32. After I get some user feedback that this version is working 100% I will update OP with the link/apk. Enjoy!

I've used this and it works well, there is a flashable zip of this floating around. I didn't make I can post a link to it if anyone wants. It also has the lollipop gallery and updated icons.
Well for us VZW users a flashable zip wont help since we are not rooted. I linked the OT for anyone who wants to use the zip. No need to post here, it will just confuse users.

would also like to know this but i don't think its possible. not without root anyway.
Yeah I don't think it works. I never use it since we have the short cut on the lock screen. The option is in the settings but it probably won't work unless the app is added to system/app folder, which would require root. I really wish we get root soon for vzw
Mmm. I can't install this apk. Rooted cm unofficial.
Any suggestion?
Thats weird. First time I heard someone with a problem. I just installed as a regular APK. Try moving it to system/app, fix perms and reboot.
