about ZXU's MIUI rom - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

XZU's roms are getting more and more ,however ,i have used the MIUI rom,and found that is more convenient.May i ask if anyone is working at moving MIUI to our device.THX

I dont think anyone is doing it at the moment but MIUI recently came out with a porting guide. MIUI has its own advantages and disadvantages of using and I quite like it too. However, I have returned all my programming stuff to my lecturers and is unable to follow the instructions given... Sigh

This isnt said enough.

Thanks for whoever put all this stuff together. I have no idea really what I am doing, other then using software created by other peoples time. I am really impressed with this 2.1 root update. I followed the sticky at the top of the page, and it worked with a few minor variations (using crappy ol vista).
Anyway thanks to all who put this together.
Based on the lil bit of knowledge Ive gained so far, I should assume that my phone is rooted 2.1 if I followed the sticky to a T, and if any future roms become available I should be able to upgrade to them because its rooted, correct?

there are custom rom's out already .......
as for root, did you install amon's recovery ? if so try booting into it just to make sure you are rooted and have recovery installed right ..... I myself took the easy way and used grdlocks scripts .....
I used the tutorial on dev section, based on grdlock and yes I have the recovery image partition. any reccommendations on different roms that r safe? or is the one I'm using pretty good overall in terms of stability.

Official update

Hi,
I'm looking for a gingerbread rom to install on my friend's Optimus One. I myself have ZTE Blade and I have been installing custom roms and that sort of stuff for some time so I know how this work, but I'm looking for a stable, plain and unrooted rom for my friend's phone as he is not the most tech savvy guy out there. I found the official 2.3.3 update from LG but I've been reading that it's very buggy. What would you guys recommend?
Thanks in advance,
Arnar.

I think most if not all custom roms are rooted. If you're looking for something stable, IMO go for oxygen v1.1. Old baseband though.

I guess I could just tell him to stay out of apps requiring Superuser access or even make him learn this stuff But I'm guessing LG have not released a less buggy version then?

Don't worry, the LG official gingerbread is not buggy. It's just bad.

One more thing... On ZTE Blade we have gen1 and 2 phones (same specs, different partition layout and radio if I understand correctly), certain roms will not work on gen1 phones and such. Does the optimus one have something equivalent to that? If i want to install Oxygen v1.1, like you suggested, is it as simple as rooting, installing custom recovery and flashing the rom?

By all means, yes!
But the O1 has 2 two basebands - v10xx and **** v20xx
If you wanna check which one you have go to -
settings>about phone
And there will be written the baseband version.
If its v10xx then you can proceed with the steps you've mentioned.
Read the sticky FAQ in this section for more details.

LG official gb has no bugs ,, the only problem is that it drains 1% battery every hour... whenever i wake up in the morning i notice that 6-8 % battery is drained... while cm7 roms drain only 2% per night btw if your friend is not techno freak then official gb is best as it has no bugs and you may flash franco.kernel for gb over official gb to give it more smoothness

Try out custom rom on pc

Hello,
I'm pretty new here but I have a question that's been bugging me.
Since a couple of months I figured out how to root my HTC desire HD. A whole new world opened up to me. So i begun using custom roms. As you guys might know, there are a lot of roms out there. Some of them I like others I don't. The other day I was wondering about how nice it would be if there was some sort of Emulator voor my pc to try the custom rom. I've heard about the AVD manager (SDK tools) But I don't get my custom roms to work. Is there a tool like this? If there is something like it that would be great. That way I could test the rom first before erasing the old one, so I know if I'm going to like the rom before going through al the trouble.
thanx!

Check out this guide..... http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/2183...le-android-on-your-pc-without-buying-a-phone/ here also..... http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/tools/emulator.html
Hallo Diablo67 thanks for the answer. But as I already told. I already tried this. I wil give me an android Yes, but it won't give me a custom rom. I really would like to try out a custom rom on it. Roms like: Android Revolution, Leedroid, CM etc.
It would be very useful. But I think its not possible.

Quick question about rooting and ROMs

Hi,
New to this scene, but basically I want to run pure jellybean on my S III I9300.
I've looked at a few tutorials on YouTube, and then I came across this:
http://galaxys3root.com/galaxy-s3-root/how-to-root-galaxy-s3/
Would that be the best way to root my S III?
And in terms of roms, I'm basically after a stable rom that I can use as a daily.
I've seen heaps of different roms on the site, but I would like to know what most people are running, in regards to what I'm after.
To flash the rom, do I go into clockwork recovery and install rom, then g apps, and then clear SD cache?
Thanks guys

No see item 1 in my signature, safest and fastest way to root. I assume you have an International Galaxy S3 with a 4412 Exynos cpu. If you have another device it will not work.
For a good and stable rom there are many good ICS and JellyBean rom`s. I personaly prefer the one in my signature. But you try anyone you like. Read up a bit aboutt rooting and flashing first i wouls suggest, to prevent possible problems.
See the Development section for rom`s, good luck and happy flashing mate
im really confused now lol
i understand the root part, and i can follow that quite easily.
but im really unsure with the roms, i heard cm10 was good, but then i also heard people complaining that some things dont work.

As you are new to flashing I would stay away from cm10/aosp Roms until you're more comfortable with what you are doing, get used to flashing Samsung based Roms/flashing mods/creating and restoring nandroids and generally feel confident in what you are doing
I also suggest you stay away from any AOSP builds.. Until you get some more knowledge and know all the tricks to fix basic problems rather than creating numerous amount of threads
Just root and install Omega 13 or Checkrom
Tip: Nandroids are your best friends when flashing roms.. It's always great to make a back up before flashing anything

Yes the forum would be great!
Gained root.
Thought I would let others know that Bin4ry script from Sony Experia thread works for a hassle free root on Telstra Urbane Zte T22.
Now just need find a recovery.
I agree!
I got his phone a while and successfully rooted it and flashed recovery CWM.
The stock is so laggy and slow. Would love a replacement.
Install CWM for the phone (which I have) by personal messaging me and I will send you the URL, silly XDA rules. -.-
also there is heaps of custom roms there that work for the t22. Trial and error, I have cm10 and a few others already on my phone. )
Sounds great. Are you able to let us know which phones roms work with T22?
Sent from my brick.
I have tried a few for the Blade 3, there is quite a variety, some work some don't, but since they are nearly the exact same phone, the t22 will work with nearly any rom for the blade 3.

Found a way to unlock it for free. Tryed to follow these instructions using google translator 4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=376369 its kind of a downgrade back to 2.2.3 and it worked, now I just have to get back to ics
Name of a custom rom?
Any have a rom that WILL work with the t22?
Thanks for your time, much appriciated!
Plenty of Roms on Modaco, I think it is, just search up Blade3 Cyanogenmod and it should come up with one by Konstang.

Stock Rom?
Hi there,
2 things: yes, you can install many Blade3 ROMs in the T22, and the most popular that is confirmed to work is an unofficial port of CyanogenMod (you can install 10.2, but it still needs official development from Qualcomm before FM Radio and Bluetooth work, so I suggest 10.1), compiled by developer KonstaT.
As I have the New Zealand version of this device, I can confirm it works well, and will certainly do so here. However:
I advise against doing it if you don't know how to backup and restore a nandroid, purely because there are NO STOCK ROMS available from either ZTE or Telstra websites, and without that backup, you'll have no choice but to void any warranty you may have had if you neglected to do so! Even I find that idea annoying, and yet I don't have that problem!
Just a friendly warning from a cousin across the ditch.
Thanks I'll check it out.
