i cant get the device to boot into flashmode anymore.
there used to glow a green or blue led light when i connected the device in flash or fastboot mode.
at the current state all i can get is the red led on top to glow if i connect to charger or usb.
im willing to give the device away if someone wants to change for any working sony smartphone..

As ur saying ur device connects in fastboot mode just flash the kernel with CWM recovery (r d one u got iwth the zip in JB rom)..
den install JB from the zip (assuming zip present in sdcard)......
it will solve ............
By the way ur bootloader unlocked? or not?

I have an unlocked bootloader. I tried using fastboot to flash the kernel.elf file in the JB rom zip file but it failed. It said my device had to be rooted and all but my device was already rooted. I used the flashboot fix specified in the thread attached below. It worked and i flashed a stock rom just to be safe and get a working phone.

Thanks for the help though.

Follow this procedure and it will work ... self tested!!
1) Force shut the phone by pressing power button and volume + till the phone vibrates once and then three times
2) Charge the phone for a couple of hours
3) Now try connecting the phone in flash mode ...
4) Green light should show and if it does for a couple of sec and goes off then you can flash but you got do the whole procedure again from 1 to 3 and connect asap when flashtool prompts you to connect device
Try it out cheers!!

You prepare the file for flashing ffirst before connecting your phone in flashmode. Also use a wall charger not the USB.

Yes same thing happened with me but the cause was different.
You need to charge your phone using the wall charger as explained above.
Use flashtool and hopefully you have a tft for your jb firmware. Once you're charged, shutdown your Xperia using same keys but keep them pressed for like 10 secs to be sure it has shut down.
Then connect your phone to Pc in proper flash mode and use flashtool for flashing.

Or just flash back the stock firmware
Sent from my ST25i using xda app-developers app
the process for installing stock:
***first - please check flashtool tutorial for your device if not sure how to use it. i am not responsible for bigger problems coming out of small holes***
first try connecting phone in flash mode --> plug it in while holding vol. down. ( check it in forums for using flashmode if not sure )
if it works proceed below :
-first start flashtool
-choose your stock .ftf in flashmode (download it from device specific forums )
-when it asks for device to be plugged in, connect it ( while holding vol. down)
-when finished, disconnect and reboot.
remember first boot gonna take time.
Which kernel did you flash. If it was of a novathor u8500 90% chance it can be fixed.
What happens when you connect the device in fastboot mode. @mertkaan1998
U can fix it
while flashing many roms i got caught into a similar problem where i got same green light and nothing happened while i was flashing for jb in that time i was a novince so i read somewhere to keep for charging for 1 hr and then try to bring it to fastboot mode and change the kernel i think u can try the same....
