hi. i tried to flash avatar on my rooted i9300 and i got into boot loop so i some how came out of that by flashing stock firmware via odin. but i could not get mobile network, so i tried to restore efs folder by EFS professional software. that is where again i got in to BOOT LOOP. (like never ending). since i had already experience this problem so i started with wiping data/ factory reset, wipe cache, use odin to flash stock firmware/checkrom/rescue rom. as far as i could read every possible thing, i tried to follow but all i am stuck with is a never ending boot loop which takes me up to asking Google account details then goes back to reboot and i9300 logo and same cycle.
one more thing i have removed sim card and sd card, but still in rebooting phase as i mentioned i can go up to Google account details. i can see network signal on top even if i have removed my sim card. Is there anyway out..
Wiping data factory reset does not wipe previous system rom only reset's it you need to wipe your system but make sure you install a rom soon has you have done it.I suggest installing philz recovery it as got a built in wipe before installing a rom feature.Follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1911726 look at Wiping & Flashing - Cleaner Flashing Method :good:
You can also use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832326 but be very careful make sure you have a rom ready to install on your sd card

Ok so I'm fairly new to the rooting scene, and these forums, but so far everything has been pretty good, except for one small problem. I installed a custom boot logo, and afterwards my phone was lagging a bit. I contacted the boot logo programmer, with no response, so I decided to wipe my system and use the backup from right before I installed the custom boot logo. Unfortunately, the boot logo has not changed, and my phone 'fails' whenever I try to flash something from Odin. Anyone know what to do in this situation.
If you want to do a full wipe of you device, cos it sounds like tha boot logo is corrupt, then boot to recovery and wipe cache partition and dalvik cache.then go to "storage and mounts" and format system, data and cache.Select "Go Back" and factory reset your phone and reboot. If it doesnt go past the boot logo after 1min then pull the battery, put it back in and turn it back on.Its a pain in the arse but it will completely clean up your device and if you where rooted you will need to probably reroot but berfore hand plug in your phone to your PC so it gets recognized again.
EDIT:Just incase, first of all download titanium backup from the market and backup your apps!!!!

You need to wipe usb storage, sd card, then put phone in download mode, flash stock ROM using Odin. You need to fully wipe everything.
Sent from my Sexynos SGH-i777 using XDA Premium.
I've trying reflashing the stock ROM and kernel; however, it gives me a FAIL and says can't open the serial (COM) port.
I have solved the problem by closing Samsung Kies and wiping the system, thanks for all the help offered.
This is my 3rd week battling with this issue.
The phone will freeze no matter what i'm doing or which app im using, and I have to do a battery pull or hold down the power button.
The phone freezes on boot screen. I then would boot into recovery to wipe data.
Wipe data/factory reset freezes on wipe data... (The first time i got this issue 3 weeks ago, when wipe data froze i was unable to flash any zip file successfully and restoring backups failed due to miss matched md5 sum). I then flash stock ics using Odin, it was successful but it freezed at boot. I then flash gingerbread XXKL1 using the .pit file and i was able to boot. After that i was able to flash ICS and boot successfully.
However, the freezes occur randomly (1 to 3 times per day) and the process restarts.
Presently when the issue occur this is my temporary fix:
when I get a freeze that makes the phone unresponsive for a long time I reboot.
If the phone freeze at boot I do a wipe data/factory reset and then set up my phone again or I restore a backup
If wipe data freeze I can restore a backup most times and it might also freeze at boot, therefore, at this point I rather flashing a stock ROM via Odin and then restore my backup after i've rooted. I'm now good until the next freeze.
Yesterday, before attempting the wipe data i tried to do a backup to internal sd card and it was unsuccessful, i found i could only do it to the external card so I did. When im not having the issue i can backup to internal card.
Apart from XXKL1, i've tried GB and ICS recovery files k13 & XXLPH respectively with their bootloaders and .pit files taken from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457458
I thought of using the solution from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1760107, however, my problem wasn't caused from flashing LQ5, but i'm thinking I might have a faulty data partition that needs replacing since I had to flash the .pit file from KL1 before i was able to boot in any other ROM when I 1st got this problem. I need to confirm this before i give up 2GB and also after reading the thread i'm still not sure on what file to flash and the steps.
Hey,
First off i hope i have put this on the right sub forum.
I've been stupid (I Think) I've olso looked around on the forum and the [READ THIS] Got a Boot Loop? Don't post a New Thread!
topic.
I'm using my SGS2 for a year now and was using the ressurexionRimix rom for a while.
I've been plaing around with my phone so i got lots of folder that were not used etc, so I wanted to get it back to factory settings, here is when all went down.
Via Settings-Backup and recovery i gave my phone a factory reset (while using the latest ressurexionremix rom, i think this is the misstake i made) When my phone went into the reboot is got stuck on the splash screen, it kept reapeeting the boot animation.
The second mistake i mad was not puting back my back-up but thought well i want it back to it's first state so i'll use ODIN to flash the stock ROM onto it. now, 4 hours later and about 10 trys with diferent versions of the stock roms i'm still stuck on the boot screen.
I've also tryd flashing a cwm so i could get in cwm recovery, this also without any luck
Does anyone have a idea what to do!?
go back to recovery - mounts andstorage and format the following :
cache, system, data, sdcards if you have it in recovery. reboot
you have a bkank screen as your phone has been wiped. reboot into download mode.
Connect odin and flash a stock rom. reboot and your phone should work provided that you have not damaged the flash chip on the motherboard.
Is this in CWM? the problem is i dont have that anymore because i've flashed it toc stok. I now get in the Android system recovery
The option i get there ar:
Reboot system now
apply update from external storage
Wype data/factory reset
Wipe cache parition
apply update from cash
test redbend fola[FS]
Will try this, thank..will let you know if it worked
Wiped data/factory reset and cache after this i ebooted my phone and i got the message installing application, now i'm in the setup menu. Looks like it is working.
Did'nt realice there was a recovery besides CWM Thank yoy so much Cosmic Blue!!! You saved my life!!
Hi Guys
Im having some problems trying to install a custom rom into my new Galaxy SIII I9300.
The rom in question is OmegaRom V35
After roooting and all, yesterday i tryed installing the rom with mobile odin, following all the instructions.
The result was the phone rebooted after the instalation seemed to be ok, but got stuck on the booting animation, and never got out of there.
I Had then to inject cwm with odin desktop, wiped data, cache anda dalvik, and then proceed to install the stock rom with desktop odin. All went well and the phone worked great.
I thought that maybe the problem was with mobile odin pro. So today, i went and proceeded to install Omega V35 via CWM. I again put the file on internal sd card, wiped data, cache and dalvik, and the rom started flashing. It all started good but, with no warning, at the mniddle of the installation, when applications were being installed, the phone went automatically and wuickly back to CWM!
Of course the installation wasnt finished, so i was stuck with cwm on reboot. Again made wipe data, cache and Dalvik, tried again to flash Omega V35, and again, the same problem...
In the end, i had to flash the stock rom again.
I searched the forum, but i cant seem to find the problem for this. I followed all the instructions, and had no error messages besides CWM skiping the format of the card, and some message (that i've seen in videos as normal), when wiping Dalvik!
Any clue to what's happening?
A clue read the instructions for the rom .
<b>Installation:Install CWM Recovery with Odin - Get CWM Recovery here
Boot to CWM Recovery using volume up, power button and home key
Backup your device and make sure to keep a copy of the backup to your pc!
Wipe data / factory reset (Not needed if you already have Omega)
Install Omega
(Wipe cache will be done automatically during installation so you can skip this step
Wipe dalvik cache will be done automatically during installation so you can skip this step)</b>

Maybe i didn't expressed myself correctly, but today i followed those instructions twice, and, at each of these tries the
same thing happened. When the flashing was running apparently problemless it simply stoped and went to CWM without rebooting.

Hi! I'm new to the forums and I have recently rooted my MB860 Motorola Atrix 4g with olympus.
Today I tried to install CM10 Avatar Rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2140902
I restarted my phone in Clockworkmod > install zip from internal storage > install
But after it restarts, it gets stuck on the Avatar logo with the sparkle circulating.
I tried wiping Delavik/cache/ and I even formatted the phone to factory settings.
Can anyone please help me?

have u tried going back to stock
make sure if u flash the file again that u re-download it, the ROM might have not been downloaded correctly and therefore you are stuck on the splash screen
The problem is, i hadn't back up my previous rom before installing this one, therefore I cannot go back. Ugh i'm so newb >.<
However, is there a way to completely set it back to factory settings? I wipe /data/cache/Delavik/ back to factory setting but still after i restart it goes to the splash screen of Avatar ROM.

It is always recommended to take a backup and full wipe (not just the dalvik cache) before installing a custom ROM. It is quite difficult to retrieve the data if there is no backup and the ROM is not booting. As of now the first thing I would suggest is to take a full backup using clockworkmod (at any stage you can recover this and come back to current state). Once the backup successful, try doing a wipe data/factory reset, then install the rom and see if it boots.
If the ROM boots at this stage, again take another backup in clockworkmod. Also someone on the thread has suggested flashing an older version of the rom first, boot and then flashing latest zip helps.
Then use the advanced restore option and try restoring data alone. If this is successful, you should most probably have all the data of all standard applications.
Also check this links http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1163009 or stock-firmware and see if you can install the stock rom back with this.
