This is my fourth Samsung Android device, and you'd think I'd be beyond brilliant noob moves... but apparently not.
I got TWRP recovery installed on my device fine (Sprint SPH-L600)... but, since I saw this phone is a Tri-Band, I assumed that it was more or less identical regardless of provider (yeah... I know already... don't say it)
So now I'm looking for my old factory firmware to Odin back in because now my Samsung message just sits on my screen after boot animation.
All I wanted was root... which I managed to find after it was too late... so if I can get back to stock I'm good.
Anybody out there have any ideas on downloading the stock firmware again. I see the customs that are out aren't fully working yet... and all I was really missing with stock was hot spot and root access. I can live w/o hotspot and usb tether for now, and I solved my root issue.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Im in same boat as your I soloved it by cwm recovery install silent rom temporarily it worked , now till we get hands on the stock usa version sprint rom, for those who have sprint galaxy mega 6.3 dont do rooting yet till someone figure out a safe way to root sprint version

Hmmm
Maybe all we need is some kind soul to make a nand backup of his stock firmware and post that back? Not sure. One of the drawbacks of being the first on your block with the new toy? I think so...
Yea right sprint mega is not the same rom as att or verzion!

LTE Performance
Well... off topic, but I boot-looped the phone the first day that I got it... so not a great idea about how it runs on the network. My old phone (Epic4GT) was WiMax and it occasionally had 4g (and was fast when it did...). Sprint is phasing out WiMax in the coming months so I wanted an LTE. BUT... as far as I've observed so far, I NEVER had a 4G connection. Missing in the setup screens is the traditional "4G switch", but you can switch selection between CDMA and LTE/CDMA/Evo (among others)... and I tried toggling in and out of the LTE option and it never indicated to me 4GLTE on the notification area. Again, though... I only had it running for a short time, so I could have missed something. Really hoping someone antes up a stock firmware somehow so I can get on with trying it out for real. (to bring it back around to originating topic)
I think for now you can only pickup the 1900mhz lte until sprint updates the APN with logon info for the other bands. Though you won't see 800mhz for a few years they are converting the wimax towers over to ltd so you will get that once the APN works

I finbaly got the phone mode working but stilk at 1x instead of 3g hmmmm

Tri-Band information
I actually read this morning that the S4 Mini is the only one (of the 4 sprint phones that will get Spark LTE) that is actually functioning. They are planning on doing OTA updates to enable it in the other three in the coming months. As for the 800 MHz broadcast... it's not WiMax, but actually the old Nextel hardware that their going to use. So for now, unless you have the S4 Mini, don't plan on using your 4G or Spark at all until Sprint updates your phone OTA.
Firmware Version Anyone?!?
So I found some other stock firmware for the Mega on different carriers by searching the actual firmware build number. Is there anyone out there with a Sprint Mega who would be willing to look into their phone info to see what the build number is on your firmware and pass that along in this thread please?
Thanks so much in advance.

see? i was able to find out info about it yep
You da man!
Thanks dude! Exactly what I was looking for. Much appreciated...
Err... I take that back. I thought I was bright enough to figure out how to solve my problem with that information... but I'm just not that smart, darn it.
Any techier types out there who can tell me what I can do with this info (not THAT!)... I'd appreciate being pointed in the right direction. I guess for me the only way I can think to get back running again is to get the L600VPUAMI6 Firmware so I can flash it with Odin again... but I can't find it posted anywhere and (as stated before) I brilliantly neglected to do a nandroid backup of my stock setup before flashing the new firmware (wrong model).
Alternatively, if anyone has a stock SPH-L600 and could make a nandroid backup of all the pretinent files I did figure out how to write that into an "update.zip" (from a helpful online primer...) so I can plunk that in with recovery... but I haven't had any takers yet with the backup intact (for my model).
So I'll keep trying to figure it out I guess.
Of course any help is welcome.
For those planning to roit it please perform a nandroid backup there are apps in google playstore that not need root espically the boot.img! Id want anyone upload virgin sprint stock rom itll help us get back to working normally you can link the uploaded file here

fyi.... you can always go to any sprint store and find that one and go in setting, more, about phone and take a snapshot of that revision including kernel version with your camera phone and post the pic in here simple?

It has dawned on me that why no 3g or lte is bec the roited boit.img made by other mega from diffrent carrier is not the same kernel version so what I would do is use the boot.ing and extract it theb build a kernel with correct version and make a new boit.img it should restore it the config is very specfic about this model ive done mune on htc evo 4g and it worked like charm what I need is for someone who has stock rom and note the kernel version and adb pull /proc/config.gz and send that to me?

Firmware Version
I actually had done what you suggested yesterday (sort of... since I'd already upgraded my old phone to the Mega, I don't actually have a [working] camera phone at the moment)... so I did it the old fashioned way... pen and paper.
The firmware version for the Sprint version is L600VPUAMI6 (that's a capital "I", like in Ice Cream... not a 1).
I still can't find it, even though I now know the version number. Still hoping someone may post it up here.
The kernel version is really 3.4.0 with build number appended yeah I looked at it in sprint store I noticed in phone satus it should show imei and network status saying evdo,3g ... hmm mine didnt shows so I suspect the sim card or efs protected folder is screwed fyi the sim card I cant figure out how to remove it bec it dies have inei is printed so if those who have mega please use efs pro to back it up!

Running wrong rom (sort of...)
Learned a little more last night. Apparently Samsung has a arrangement with Best Buy (learned in chat w/ a Samsung tech). You can take your Samsung phone in and they can reflash it w/ stock rom again. You lose everything you had installed - but my phone was brand new, so I wouldn't lose anything really. The caveat is that they have to HAVE the rom in there proprietary system. They still DON'T have the SPH-L600, so I remained out of luck getting the stock rom. I don't know if they have the T-mobile rom.
What I HAVE ended up doing is putting an I9205 rom in (Cassie's XtraLite?) and "most" of my phone is working again. No 3G (or 4G), but phone works and wifi works... so it's limping along. Going to play w/ Kies today to see if it can figure the phone out, now that it's actually booting. It appears that, like Best Buy, Kies still doesn't have access to the factory rom (online) yet. I may just try to flash some of my old modems onto this and see if I can wake up the 3G if Kies doesn't come up with a complete package.
Will they charge to reflash it? Thanks for the info i was afraid not take it to sprint store for voiding warranty if they find out
So...
About kies, i have trouble with it not reonizing my phone no matter what drivers are properly instalked either kies or kies3 so what gives?

Ive got info from one of xda user that successfully rooted his sprint mega with lte working im going get him to back up the stock rom and hopeflly he agrees to....

Best Buy
They tried to flash my rom (no luck...didn't have the SPH-L600 rom available to their proprietary software [SMART?]... he even called Samsung and they said it's not available yet - have to wait until they distribute it I guess). Anyhow, they didn't charge or say anything about charging. Maybe they have the T-Mobile... not sure on that one.
BTW... Finally got Kies to understand which firmware I wanted (have to ask "case sensitive", i.e. sph-l600 doesn't work... SPH-L600 does!) Then only to have Kies say it doesn't support flashing that rom yet (lol - I detect a theme here, i.e. play the waiting game until either Samsung releases it, or an actual Sprint tech has a heart and leaks the rom so we can get back to stock).
For now still limping along mocking an i9205 w/ Cassie's XtraLite custom rom - no 3G or 4G (or data of any kind). Phone works... so does wifi.

Hey guys. Does anyone by chance have a BELL stock ftf that they could link me or re-direct me where i can find one? I cant use any other ones at the moment.
Since i updated to the latest 4.3 and went to downgrade to re root my device i have been having issues with my device and can't get any data connectivity on my phone but can make calls.
I was hoping to flash the stock rom so that everything will work again.
Yeah i can use the apn settings for bell to achieve most of my data connectivity but i would perfer full usage until i can get full root.

I'm on Bell and have no data connectivity issues on 4.3?
Unfortunately I don't have the old FTF's - I was considering extracting them prior to upgrading but I didn't really want to wait any longer.
What issues are you having?
Have you installed the C6806 firmware?

yeah i have the similar issue. when i downgraded from 4.3 to 4.1 with a 6806 it didn't transfer my bell info over. I am not able to access any data connection unless setup the apn for bell and then i get connectivity. i am currently running 4.2.2 under a c6833 model with apn set up and works alright. but a lot of my bell stuff is gone and would like to have something setup just in case. the rest of the phone does work pretty darn well so far. except it keeps trying to ask to update to 4.3 again. I was going to un-root the device and try to do the update but i am unsure how it would fair with the phone since its not c6833 and not 6806. And instead of it saying "LTE" it says "4G" with is more of a little thing that bugs me personally lol

I still don't understand what you mean by 'works alright' - what is it you are missing?
Adding the apn and having it be there when you put the phone on the first time are no different from one another? So long as you have the exact settings?
Post screenshots of your APN settings and I'll tell you if you're missing something.

Or you know, you could get the right FTF from PC Companion, which downloads the regional version (in this case the Canadian version) since it looks up the device's CDA number. Just keep that in mind if you're going to send it in for repairs or whatever. Just un-root (if you're rooted), re-lock the bootloader (if it's unlocked - and remember to restore the TA partition) and just repair it using PC Companion. It's what i did when i sent my Ultra in for repairs last week.

We, the global community cant help you Canadians with this one. Someone up there has to DL the firmware and build the FTF
I guess we could DL it but it would take a but of jiggery-pokery in the build.prop, and it might work???

Could someone with a bell 6806 copy and post the first 40 odd lines (or a zip of the whole thing) of the build.prop? I'll see if I cant build a FTF for Bell phones
Bell ftf ?
I tried to repair my phone with pc companion with flash mode when finished i found it was the same firmware 14.2.A.1.136 US Generic that i took from the repository and flashed earlier. Made an ftf from PC companion with the help of Flashtools flashed it and found the same. When i go to Bell website to see what is the latest software it says Android: 4.3 Firmware: 10.4.B.0.569. I think it has to do something with the CDA 1276-1569-R4B I guess it is for the US unbranded. I have no idea what is the CDA for Bell Canada c6806. Could some one help. If i get things right i can post the FTF so plz help.

Here's the XT1053 T-Mobile US/Unlocked/GSM Developer Edition Android 4.4.2 OTA package for anyone that needs/wants it. This updates you from system version 140.44.3.ghost_row.Retail.en.US (Android 4.4) to system version 161.44.25.ghost_row.Retail.en.US (Android 4.4.2).
Download (Mega)
Mirror (Thanks to cajunflavoredbob)

Manual install instructions for unrooted stock users here.
For rooted stock users with unlocked bootloaders, read this first and make sure you really are back to stock. You need to have a completely stock system and kernel 140.44.3.ghost_row.Retail.en.US to proceed. No Xposed modules, modified build.prop, etc.
This update does not install with TWRP or at least Hashcode's build since his recovery reports it as a XT1060 and the update is looking for "ghost" so there's that. If you tried installing from the system notification and got yourself in a recovery bootloop, then wipe cache before rebooting.
The OTA just patches existing files and you should not lose root. Tested with Superuser 1.0.2.9 and SuperSU 1.89. In practice, you should be able to flash the stock recovery (zip attached to this post) from system with Recovery Tools, OTA, then flash TWRP back again with Recovery Tools when done.
If you rooted with SlapMyMoto and have a locked bootloader, up to you if you want to take this update. This turns write protection back on and you will be pretty much stuck if anything goes wrong.
You should be able to disable the OTA notification until you make up your mind of course of action. One of the 3c apps, not 100% which one, but try disabling 3c_ota.apk first. In adb shell it would be pm disable com.motorola.ccc.ota or use an app to freeze it. If you still get a notification also look at 3c_notification.apk (com.motorola.ccc.notification). If someone would be so kind as to confirm this, I will update the OP.

Anyone got a checksum? Not keen on flashing a file without one
Can this be flashed by twrp? Or is it required to unroot prior to installing this? Thanks!

Should be able to. I fastbooted stock recovery but kept root through the update.

One of you will need to try TWRP. If it doesn't work, it will fail right from the start. Report back with TWRP version as well please.
Edit: Flashing with TWRP may bootloop back into TWRP. OP updated.
Ok i will try twrp but do not have a computer at this moment i hope everythig works fine heheh

FYI, those with LOCKED bootloader with SlapmyMoto and Root will be fine if you take the update with the instructions above. Just finished it an hour ago, and phone is functioning appropriately.

Odd. I assume you didn't change your APNs of any sort. You sure you didn't disable your data syncing or have a software data cap on yourself?

NO this can only be flashed via stock recovery and will only work on a fully stock system and boot. REMEMBER, that if your bootloader is locked you will not be able to downgrade from this build, trying to do so may result in your device becoming a paper weight.

I'm a complete moron. I didn't pay attention and flashed the whole GB build. This was just a recovery update flash, not a full firmware. I had to reflash the TMO retail 4.4 build minus the gpt.bin and motoboot.img. Thank God the patch works with a 4.4.2 GB bootloader (though lower build than the North America bootloader). Hopefully this fixes some things!

It applies also to unlocked bootloader as well, this is a one way upgrade if you upgrade to this boot loader 30.B4, you can not downgrade, trust me and be warned, its been confirmed
Please only flash the system modem files a boot.img files

Known Issues & Fixes:
Boot loop when booting into TWRP with USB plugged in
FIX: Install TWRP 2.7.0.1 for 4.4.2, this fixes bootloop while USB plugged in, and also fixes screen dimming issue.
Workaround: If running TWRP 2.7.0.0 for 4.2.2 - Unplug USB after device reboots. It should boot into Recovery without issue. Replug USB after TWRP has booted.

Can you make an EU version too?
Sent from my LG-V500 using Tapatalk
Do we only have to change the build.prop (like in previous version) to make it the eu version?

Not sure if that's the only change.. However I do have the official KDZ for GB (which hasn't been released yet) as well.. Can look into it tomorrow. In the mean time I can post the unmodified build prop from that build.
build.prop on this one is wierd..
Locale is set to US and English by default:
ro.product.locale.language=en
ro.product.locale.region=US
Yet target country is SCA
ro.build.target_country=SCA
ro.build.target_region=SCA
Anyways, for those waiting. Upload failed halfway through and had to restart it.. Going to bed now and leaving it uploading..
It will appear in this folder when it's finished. I'll update the OP in the morning.
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=13555
Is that bug present when rebooting to recovery while device is plugged into USB port?
Downloading now, I see the file is ready...

So how certain are you that this is really the US KK if the build.prop says otherwise?
You are the man! Downloading now

First of all, many thanks for the quick work. It installed smoothly and without a hitch. At first view, it is all working fine.
After installing, it did display English (US) as the primary language, though the Keyboard layout was strangely in Portuguese by default. The LG Apps are all good except one: QVoice is missing.
Another sign this is not the real US version is the QRemote. The US Qremote usually has TV and Cable Box. This one has the European defaults TV+DVD+Blu-ray.
That said, the version is unquestionably KitKat, but my initial suspicion is that this is a doctored European version, hence the lack of English language QVoice, and the above details.

So to be clear is this in fact the official US version or is a modified European one with a US build.prop file?
I ask because qvoice and the Qremote are 2 features I do like on 4.2.2 and am wondering based on what I am reading here, if they will work or exist in this version?
Working great, thank you again

There is no Qvoice at all, and it is not listed in the LG Apps available for download.
Qremote works on my LG TV here in Brazil, just as the original US Qremote did, so no issues, but there is no cable box option (I never used it anyhow). I have an LG G2 phone, and the monster selection of equipment and brands it covers has always made it a more attractive choice for Qremote to me anyhow.
But that is just it, the cable box option is in the US firmware. It is not in the European firmware. Q voice also is in the current firmware 4.2 .2 US version

You are all correct, this indeed does not look like the Official US build or at least not the final one. Strange thing is I did infact download this directly from LG servers and left the build.prop untouched (just as it appears on the second post.) I have removed "US" from the title and post since we are unsure what this version really is.
Also, I've added a mirror in the OP and links to the KDZ file this is based off of.
Here's the build.prop from the other unreleased KDZ I have.. Looks like Official GB\UK version.

Do any of the versions that you have access to have the quick voice app? I tried to install the 4.2 .2 version into system and fix permissions. And even after a reboot they do not appear to show up.
Also one other interesting things, is that the Q remote app does not show cable box as an option, so it is acting more like the non American version. However what is interesting was I previously had a remote setup including the cable set top box for my home TV. Ironically even though I cannot set up a new cable box, the previously set up when I have remained and is functional. This leads me to believe that there must be a setting somewhere that can be changed that with open up access to more devices on our Q remote app

I just flashed the GB version and it has a working QVoice.. I'm going to post a Flashable zip of the GB EU version as well.. then we can look to see if a simple build.prop change can give you the US version of Q Remote, which has Cable Box option.
Any one feel difference between this build and the previus (50018) ?
Hey Guys,
Suspected ROM is here: http://devicedownload.zte.com.cn/support/product/201606031040/sd/20160715164404575.zip
I'm not 100% sure of that actually is the ROM, I've herd of OTA updates going out, if someone could intercept them and post them that would be great (I don't physically have the device yet)
After quickly having a look at emmc_appsboot.mbn in IDA could you guys try a few things in fastboot?
1. fastboot oem unlock-go
2. fastboot frp-unlock OR fastboot oem frp-unlock
Cheers Guys!
You want us to try this only after latest updates? I'm still on build B18, not B21.
No go on shipped firmware.

Hmm, I don't think that's the actual firmware, if the OTA is being updated over SSL, add a RootCA and update, even the URL would be perfect, I'm only after emmc_appsboot.mbn

Sometimes vendors have secret fastboot commands, or their recovery dosen't check what you've provided to it, I have a massive flight to BlackHat coming up so I know what I'll be doing on the flight

If ZTE are being honest and truthful with their stated intentions then one of the first couple of updates for the international version should provide owners of the international version with an unlock-able boot-loader. No relying on the work of third parties of unknown trustworthiness or vulnerabilities that may be patched out and require new vulnerabilities to be found for later purchasers to unlock their phone.

It depends on how well they've written their software, I'm seeing 'Secret key is invalid, please update the bootloader with secret key' in ABOOT, so it looks like they may have the same get up as Motorola where you request a key and unlock it with that, I haven't been able to match this string back up THUMB/ARM OpCodes yet. Or they may have a signed copy of ABOOT that allows unlocking, and they'll slip that into OTA.
If I find something I'll let you all know!
Actually if you go in the developper options, there is an option to allow bootloader unlock

That's a very generic button that does nothing on a lot of phones. We cover this already on XDA like a gazillion time. lol.

I'm really hoping that someone can crack the Axon 7, too. I guess I just assumed when I bought it since most phones get cracked. This better not be one of those that can't be unlocked/rooted. I love this phone, but I hate ZTE's skin. It looks cheap. I'm using Nova Prime right now because I just can't keeping looking at MiFavorUI.

They are getting harder as securities of the bigger brand and Android in general is getting better but ZTE is kinda new to this game so, there's a good chance of a root exploit at least.

I'll keep my phalanges crossed.
Half the reason why there are so many people using Android is because of the potential to root and customize. If OEMs start making devices that can't be rooted, Android is going to lose a bunch of previously loyal followers.

I have tried this to no effect.

Don't count on them unlocking it since they offering a product warranty. They don't want to have to deal with jokers that hose their devices trying to MOD it, then unroot and try to get a new device because they bricked it.

This is a bit of a cop out, procedures do exist where if you unlock the device, it will 'blow' a fuse thus permanently voiding the warranty, all OEMs should be providing this option, the worst vendor I've ever experienced is Motorola.

But Android M has two classes of boot verification implementation. If ZTE went with Class A which i am sure they did, it's not going to be easy to switch to Class B. Considering there's numerous bug currently, the developers have to fixed those before they have time for this bootloader unlock business.
Ref, https://source.android.com/security/verifiedboot/verified-boot.html#glossary

Can someone with the phone try this in ADB.
"fastboot flashing unlock"
fastboot oem unlock doesn't work in Android M.

Ah yeah, this is Android's new ABOOT, allowing the user to sign their own boot.img kernels? I think they did this to disable Android Pay if you've unlocked the bootloader? Yeah it depends on ZTE, they could have just chosen with a vanilla LK/ABOOT
Hey XDA forums, I have a Coolpad Catalyst that I'd like to be able to fix. The cause of my problem would be the firmware, I used KingRoot for a clean root and it was nice until I got the second lock screen overlay which was annoying. As well as a fast charge through KingRoot? Lol, what? Anyways I used SuperSU as a alternative and it suggested that I used SuperSU-me so I installed and ran that which would hide and "uninstall" KingRoot. I think because SuperSU was not yet supportive of my phone me uninstalling KingRoot bricked the firmware. I now can boot to the MetroPCS logo screen or recovery. I wiped the data/factory reset as well as wiped the cache partition. I have the option to reboot system now, reboot to bootloader, power down, apply update from sd card or adb.
Android System Recovery <3e>
5.1.167.10.p2.160504.LMY47V.MPCS .... <-- I believe this is the stock ROM name or firmware.
Volume up/down to move highlight; enter button to select.
-reboot system now
-apply update from ADB
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache partition
-reboot to bootloader
-power down
-view recovery logs
-apply update from sd card
I'm going to MetroPCS shortly to see if they will be able to fix it or flash it. I could see a fresh flash fixing it but no one has yet to post a fix. If you need any information such as the signature for the ROM please let me know. I greatly appreciate any fix.

[UPDATE]
So I took my phone to MetroPCS and they tried to wipe the data/factory reset and cache partition which I had done numerous times prior with no success in unbricking the phone. Luckily because it was within 30 days of buying the phone they replaced it for free but will take 3-5 business days, so I would suggest doing that for now to others. As soon as I get my new phone I will be trying to copy the stock ROM and upload it here (if thats possible but I would believe so.)
For those who don't know if you come across a stock ROM for this device you may need to used ADB as a way to install the firmware package to the phone, or the best way to do it would be by downloading a .zip containing the package files and applying the update from a sdcard.

Just gonna put this out there so noobs can stop ruining their phones. If you hate the kingroot lock screen then disable it in the settings. Lol it's that simple.

unbrick 3622a
I have a zipped tutorial that contains everything needed to bring a 3622a back from the grave I am trying to figure out how to post it here. I will figure this out, and there is definitely a way to fix the 3622a. I have done completely restored mine.
