Just to clarify my own assumption.
Is there anyone who once used a 4.1.2 stock i9100 with the disability to mount /sdcard in recovery, able to flash a 4.2.2 or higher custom ROM?
Because I am using a 4.1.2 stock ROM, rooted but can only flash other 4.1.2 custom ROMs. No idea why 4.2.2 and 4.3.0 ROMs won't boot

Will flashing it with a stable Jelly Bean ROM affect the unlock?

You can install a custom jb room from the Android development thread. All custom ROMs come rooted with lots of features. Just read up on how to install a kernel with cwm boot up and install rom. Pretty simply if you read instructions
