I've been using the nightlies for about a month now and recently installed the M1 snapshot. In both the nightlies and M1 the speaker phone does not work while in a call. I can hear the caller but they can't hear me as if the mic is muted. Also, things like voice commands doesn't work either in Google Now for instance. I searched the CM Jira bug tracker, but the only report of this I could find has been closed as not an issue. I saw someone else reporting this problem in a thread here and was wondering if anyone knows of a fix/workaround or is having the same problem.

Have had the phone 4 days. on VZW. last night caller complained she couldn't hear me (I use the speakerphone almost without exception). Again this morning. Called a friend and we tested.. he could hear me when I talked in regular mode and as soon as I turned on the speakerphone, I could still hear him but I was muted. Called VZ. reboot with/out sim card etc.. they know nothing. A buddie at VZ reset some stuff and nothing. said to return the phone.. might try a full reset first.. love to know of a fix. Thx!
UPDATE: took the phone into VZW and exchanged it.. hours of set-up.. but so far so good.. really like the phone...

Hi all,
I looked everywhere but could not find a solution to a problem I've been having for a long time now.
I apologise if it's inappropriate to open a new thread but I cannot find any other solution.
I've been using AOKP milestone for some time on my I9300 (S3) device and am very happy with all the features and battery life etc.
I've been having one problem with the bluetooth and am unable to find out the solution or root cause of the problem.
Recently I have even tried a factory reset and flashed the milestone 2 latest rom but still am having the same issue,
Here are the details of the problem;
During a call using bluetooth handsfree car kit or earpiece it's not possible to resume / direct / transfer the call to the devices internal or external speaker.
Once I turn off the bluetooth due to arrival to destination and having to leave the car or battery dying in the earpiece I can hear the person on the other end for 3 seconds and then total silence but the other end can hear me clearly. Once I turn on the BT or external speakers on / off I can hear for 3 more seconds and so on,
What am I missing.
Please help.
did you find a solution to your issue.
I have the exact same, but running on CM10.2
Issue is when I am on a call with bluetooth I can't switch to speaker, or phone while in call. If I do so, they cannot hear me and I cannot hear them. If I switch back to bluetooth everything works again... Anyone else know a fix for this?
I cant find any solution for this? anybody know..
no solution yet
I looked all over and tried different roms and issue remains the same.
I used Omega based samsung and only then it worked fine but I do not like Sam. Based roms.
Please keep me posted if you solve this.
Also another problem I'm facing is, if capturing a video in a concert / club, video sound is very nosiy and un hearable, picture is ok though
Can you verify this too please?
I use voice chat on Skype a lot, but I also love the speed from 4.4.1 + crpalmer's kernel + bionic libs, however, there's one thing that's keeping me away from that speed, and that's voice chatting being broken on 4.4..Does anyone know a fix for this or know what kind of problem it is? Is it a 4.4 ROM problem or a kernel problem? Whether stock kernel or crpalmers, whenever I initiate a Skype call, it literally kills my ears, it makes this extremely loud screeching and static-y noise that never goes away unless I restart my phone...Anyone know what's up with this?

Have you tried last night's CM 11.0 nightly build? I specifically posted in that thread (which is where you should be looking to see if there is anything new) that I had pushed changes that *might* fix Skype problems and asking for feedback and yet I received 0 feedback.

Sorry for double post, I just wanted to make sure you saw it, but, Skype calling still makes that horrific static noise as before, thanks for trying to help anyway though.

What version did you install? (Specifically)
Are you using your phone as a phone, speaker phone, headset, bluetooth?

I'm using my headphones to test the Skype call audio, and I'm testing 20131211. I'll try speaker phone audio right now.
EDIT: I don't even hear anything when Skype calling through phone speaker, no call tone or anything.

That sounds like the behaviour prior to the changes I pushed. I just double checked an a wired headset is working fine for me.
What does your phone say in Settings >> About Phone >> CyanogenMod Version?
Hi guys.
I have a problem with my bluetooth headset.
If I call to someone I have good sound and the person on the other side to.
Till someone try to call me. Then I have a good sound, but second person doesn't. It seems like i will be far away from MIC on windy day and it's impossible to understand what I'am saying.
After that when I tried to call someone the bug is still there till I wipe cache.
After wipe I can call as many times as i want without bug, till someone calls me. Then I can remove the bug only through wipe cache.
I checked on Galaxy S5, and there is no problem with that.
About 2 months ago I had a Resurrection Remix on my Kiw-L21 and everything was working fine. Then I tried Lineage OS, and problem shows up. When I back to RR, problem was still there. Now I've got crDroid, and problem won't disapear.
So i would like ask you for help, what should I do?
P.S This is my first post so I'm sorry for my english. I was lazy bastard at school on english lessons
edit
I think i found a solution for my problem. I had to downgrade AudioFX. Now I have installed LineageOS 14.1 with AudioFX 1.8 version and it works fine. The only thing is that sometimes when someone's calling i have to change bluetooth option to speaker and back to bluetooth to have sound on my headset.
I have a strange issue, the mic doesn't work in calls in speakerphone, but works fine in normal. I tested the mic it works with google ok, sound recordings. I've tried both miui rom and other custom roms same issue. Please tell me the fix.
Mic not working on Speaker....
Make sure if your microphone is covered or not. I had the same problem because my case was covering the top microphone hole.

Another one poco Armored version. My version is V10.2.3.0.PEJMIXM. main microphone doesn't work. I certificated with test *#*#6484#*#* on phone calling. It's normal? It's terrible, one phone without a essential function!!!
Just try to perform CIT hardware test..Go to about phone in settings..tap on kernel version 4-5 times and and perform test related to speakers Mic and Receiver..All though its a temporary fix but works
Poco X2 Microphone isn't working. Using latest MIUI 12.2.
Hey,
Bought Poco X2 on Sep 2020. Now microphone issue started, nobody can hear my voice on the other side of the call. Need to restart each time.
Performed Factory Reset several times.
Updated MIUI 12.2.
Removed cache files.
Did everything which I can, but no solution.
Now, going to customer care services.
Just wanted to let everyone know that, in October-2020 also this problem present.
Hello guys.
I've been facing the same issue for the past two days. I'm using poco x3 indian version which doesn't have NFC. This problem can be temporarily solved. For a permanent fix, you gotta approach service centre for bug fix. The solution for this problem for the time being is as follows
1. Switch off all wireless connectivity other than mobile data.
2. Go to settings and switch off VoLTE(if you have kept the VoLTE on).
3. Make a call from the mobile.
4. While the call is in progress, again go to settings and go to VoLTE.
5. While staying in the VoLTE settings screen, hang up the call from the floating phone app icon(any other way to hang up the call is ok for this).
6. As soon as you hang up the call, switch on the "use VoLTE" option.
7. Try making a call with VoLTE on and check whether the earpiece and mic are working well.
This helped me solve the issue.
Please make sure that you switch on the VoLTE suddenly as you hang up the call and make sure it got switched on.
Please respond if this worked for anyone of you. Thanks.
Sorry reviving this old thread, but I've got this problem on my Poco F1, Android 12 via CrDroid. I can't find a solution anywhere.
Hi there people.
I've got the following issue. If anyone has this issue or has fixed it let me know.
Calls seem to be interfering with my mic. Sometimes my voice doesn't go to the other end even though normal call or whatsapp call. They might hear 1 word then nothing from me for a few seconds then a word or two and it sometimes sounds like a clicking noise.
I've called my self too and I can't hear anything on my RM7 but whoever I call can hear the clicking noise and sometimes nothing from me.
Sometimes I can't hear the other person too. It cuts out.
Same with normal calls and whatsapp calls.
Continuing my testing, I can send voice notes without issue and receive them and play it via rhe earpiece without issue too. Even voice recording and video recording the microphone does a good job only in calls it bugs out.
Continuing my testing
Works fine with headphones connected. But mic and earpiece work fine when used by voice notes and video ect
I don't know if it's a coincidence or not but I have the same issue. It started around last week.
I cleaned my speakers and mic thinking I got dirt build up. But it's still the same.
It seems like a software issue. Looking at the patch notes in latest OS update (NX679J_UNcommon_V3.16) for me, they have listed "Repair: possible issues with calls in some scenarios". I don't know when they released the update and when I applied it to my phone but that could be the reason for this issue too.
After reading your post I tried regular calls with headphones, speakers and video call with Google meet. They all work fine.
For call on speaker, as soon as you turn the speaker off it starts acting up again.
Hopefully they will fix this issue soon.
From my testing it seems like its an app or something interfeering with the calls. I started the phone up in safe mode (no 3rd party apps only stock ones) and the issue was gone, so the issue is a app related issue, thinking its a virus I just reset the phone to factory and all is good now. I didnt find what was causing it.
Thanks for an update.
I will play around a bit and if it doesn't work out then will do the same.
