I would like to know if the camera from the S4 or Note 2 or 3 would work on the Mega. All of these camera apps have features that the Mega camera does not have. The feature I would like particularly is the slow-mo and fast-mo video. Has anyone tried this or does anyone have an S4 or Note 2 rooted to try this? Someone told me that the Note 3 won't work since the Note 3 is based on 4.3.

Anyone got an S4 they can play with?
while talking about the camera is there any possible way to turn off the shutter sound? it seems like you could hit the volume mic button in the settings but each and every time i've tried this the camera app force closes.

I'm a big fan of CM and other non-Samsung versions of Android. In the past, there has been no real reason to keep Samsung based ROMs. But with the S3, the stock camera app seems so much better than everything else, this is a problem.
Are there any ways of running the stock camera app in CM at the moment?
OR
Are there any alternative camera apps that can do the kind of continuous speed shooting (20 exposures etc.) that the Samsung stock app can do?

I would recommend using hx camera mod. I can say that it 's the best camera app so far especially when recording a video at 30Mbit - 1080p superfine. Try to look at this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1691145 or http://hx-custom-roms.com/galaxy-s3-camera-mod

Thanks. I think this will only work on stock roms though as it is Samsung framework dependant. What I really want is something that will allow me to leave Samsung roms and move to for example Cyanogen mod, but keep the additional functionality found in the Samsung camera app.

try this one. works close to stock http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746611&highlight=i9305
i liked the ultrapixel feature
I don't know if anyone faced this problem.
But on my Galaxy S3 i9300, the camera works super fine except on snapchat, only when recording. When I record, it only records to the quarter of the length, which means only 2 seconds.
I have tried Omega ROM which is based on stock 4.3 JB and it worked well. All the kitkat ROMs are based either AOSP or AOKP and I only had the problem with those, the stock touchwiz (4.3 JB) worked fine.
I am downloading the AOSB rom but it's based on CM11 which is based on AOSP I guess? But, I hope it fixes the problem..
If anyone knows any KitKat stock ROMs for Galaxy s3, please list them and I hope they're great.
Thanks in advance :]

Had a dream about this... Try going to camera app and go to video setting, in the recording setting change the video to a lower one. Then go to Snapchat and see if that works. Mine was at 1080p and when I changed it to 720p it started working amazing. Try setting it lower if that doesn't work for you. Mine was only recording for 1 second and would stop, after this I can record the full length allowed now. Let us know if this works for you!!

I was looking for this app for a while, i didn't find anything in google play...I only found camera app from NOKIA8,but this function is not working...app just crashes. I was surprised that all samsung users HAD this function long time ago, and it was working perfect..I am talking about dual camera photo/video recording. For example I am shooting video with main camera, and then im switching to front camera to show my self and people around.. THis was in stock camera in GALAXY NOTE 3.. You can see in youtube how it was working if you copy and paste this in a search window -> Видео/Как снимать одновременно передней и задней камерами <-
You could run 3 modes: shooting in both cameras in same time(''Bothie''), switching between them any time during the video from front cam to back cam, or puting front camera in a small square..while main camera working..
Why we don't have this function now??? is it possible somehow to run on s10 this old app from NOte 3? I was trying to run it.. but it was crashing..
Or do we have some another app? or may be someone can remake this app from NOte 3? It's a really nice feature to switch between cameras while you are recording video(for blogers or adventure trips where you need to show everything).. and i don't understand why no apps in play store and why Samsung didn't make it for new phones? You can also see similar function when you doing video calls in WATSAPP, you can also switch between cameras in a real time..I would even buy this app if someone could remake an old app from note 3
Just like to ask if someone is able to port Samsung dual camera app capabilities to the Samsung S10 stock camera app.
That means using front and back camera at the same time for photo and video recording.
Here the link to the original app from the galaxy store.

Thanks for answering
