I get an administration password request when I use reverse tethering in library. Xposed module does not solve it nor does USB tunneling. I use Archidroid 2.2.4 on I9300. CM 10.2
Using wifi & internet is free in library, but prefer download speed computer & charging. Debugging is turned on and adb is referred to by running software on windows 95. drivers could not be placed in system directory.

So, I've been fiddling with the USB drivers and I still can't get it working properly.
ADB and windows (through explorer) will constantly drop out randomly and reconnect automatically.
Most of the times I connect my device, it's detected but is not shown in 'my computer' screen (cannot access its storage).
Thus, I can't actually copy files to it (unless through wifi).
What files should I delete to start the driver installation again? I have forcefully disabled windows update and I just want the ADB terminal to work.
Possibly relevant details:
- Using temasek's CM10.2
- USB debugging is enabled
- I sometimes use UMS mode.
- Tried using several cables.
- You can assume it's a fresh windows installation.
Hi there,
I've got a strange problem with my Samba filesharing on Android.
On my Nexus 4 I'm using latest AOPK ROM and I tried several samba servers (Samba filesharing; SambaDroid; Samba Server) - of course not simultanously. With all apps I've got the problem, that although I can see and connect to the Nexus via Windows and I can see the shared folder "SDCARD" but I can't access the folder.
Username and password are correct since I can connect to the device and see the folder.
I get network error 0x80070043 an Windows 7. I already activated "Send LM & NTLM -- use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated" for “
Network Security: LAN Manager” in the LocalPolicies and set encryption level below 128bit.
On my OnePlusOne everthing works fine. The only differences in configuration are that the OPO has CM11 running and there is XPosedFramework with XPrivacy on the Nexus. But all rules are deaktivated for the Samba servers in XPrivacy. I installed XPrivacy after the error occured for the first time anyway.
I couldn't find any special rules for the right management regarding the storage in the AOKP ROM.
Any ideas what is going wrong or what I'm missing?
I am trying to transfer a file from a computer to my mobile.
The main problem is that
(1) the computer does not have bluetooth
(2) the usb ports are set to read-only mode
(3) I do not have administrator access to the windows 10 OS of my computer.
That means, I cannot install any software on windows that requires administrator access, as most softwares require. However, the computer has fully working Wi-Fi.
Is there any method of sending a file from computer to my android phone, over Wi-Fi, with minimal softwares to be installed on windows ?
I can, however, run any standalone .exe file or install a software that does not require admin access.
I am using Windows 10 64-bit and I can use any android of the following versions: 4.3, 4.4.2, 4.4.4, 5.1, 6.0.
[Another option would be to connect the phone and use the MTP or PTP protocol or to use usb debugging with adb push but I am trying to avoid those]

DOWNLOAD PORTABLE .EXE FILE
Edit:
And follow the link below after choosing files. Don't get the app on the phone (Minimal )
(And hit thanks?)
I have read that the official Android kernel support for adhoc had been stripped. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 running LineageOS 16.0 and I am trying to connect it to an adhoc network so I can run BATMAN mesh network on it.
Somehow I was able to establish an adhoc connection to my RaspberryPi via adb shell commands but it is rather unstable and crashes after a while due to errors in the kernel (it is long I can post it if anyone is interested).
Do you know if there exist any way to re-enable adhoc networking support for Android devices?
Hello folks !
I'm new to Windows 11 and have been blessed with the new feature that allows us to install apks natively (well, with adb SDK).
Though, I've been trying to install a VPN apk, it works but there's an error when the app asks for VPN permissions. It says there's an error, and well.. it doesn't work.
Anyone tried/has a workaround ?
Big thanks !
If you're talking of WSA:
WSA shares resources with host computer's resources, so also the network, means you've to install on Windows computer a VPN what then get used.

Click to collapse
Oh damn..
I was really hoping that using a VPN apk would be possible with this WSA ..
Thanks for your answer though jwoegerbauer !
Win 11 has an issue with VPN's. I use Surfshark and when I installed Win 112, it created a new adapter that it tunneled all my internet traffic through so that if I disabled the VPN, it killed my internet. I had to delete that adapter which was NOT easy to run without the VPN on (Works sites wouldn't take to whitelisting for example).
I think there was a point in the process where my traffic was blocked with the VPN on. It's crazy
