Look i want to install android 4.3 on my S3, i am currently runnig stock android 4.1.2 but the problem is that when i connect the S3 to kies it tell me that my phone csc is (XXX). I already updated once my S3 to 4.3 but i lost my IMEI and serial number.. I have to pay $30 to otter person to fix that. Well now i have the phone working but i want to install android 4.3. I have the efs backup folder but i dont know the steps to do it and i dont want my phone lost the network conectivity. So please help me! I am from Costa Rica and if anyone needs more info just tell me.
When i dial *#1234# this is what i see
AP: I9300XXEMB5
CP: I9300XXEMB5
CSC: I9300XAEMB5
In settings my serial number is 0000 and in about option it says device modified, so i dont have OTA updates.

Hi All,
I have a new phone bought in Singapore, but looks like it's actually made in France and I'm not I'm using it in India. I want to root and have CFW installed, but after a lot of reading, I came to know that the baseband matters if you want to root and have custom ROMs on the phone. The phone came with Jellybean 4.1.1 and updated it yesterday to 4.1.2. Below are other details, please let me know if I can tinker around with the phone by rooting and having CFW

Baseband has nothing to do with root its your modem and nowhere does it mention baseband and root .
Tinker with phone yes have CWM yes brick phone yes if you don't read and learn .

Hello, I'm new to the forum, also new to the world of android. Days reading forum, there's so much that I was all confused and worried about touching the same phone that it would not be brick .
The first few questions, the phone from my brother who purchased Galaxy S3 through advertisements, which btw does not work .

Phone is a retail demo application that I could not uninstall it, so I'm using the Samsung GS3 toolkit 7.0 root the phone first, then uninstall and then do flash stock rom via Odin (I9300XXALE8_I9300NZCALE5_I9300XXLE8_HOME.tar.md5), which I DL with the Samsung GS3 Toolkit 7.0 then I do wipe / data recovery also with a Samsung GS3 toolkit 7.0, and now the phone as new, completely empty. Everything remains the same only the CSC changed, now is I9300NZCALE5, since I did not find the same CSC. Does it matter that CSC is the same or not? I know it Built Number must be the same, did baseband version and CSC must be the same?
With original CSC, could not update via kis, now that it attaches throw new update but different, I could not run, does this update can this phone? (picture attached)
And most importantly the end, can anything be done to get the S3 network coverage?

That I was afraid of that: (. Unfortunately it is impossible, thinking of returning money.
Remains a possibility to be used as navigation, as camera, to go on the internet .... .

Hi guys. I need some helps. I'm from Malaysia and the android that i used before is android 4.1.2 I9300XXEMF6 (original firmware). Then ive upgraded it into android 4.3 (I9300XXUGMJ9) for UK region. Even though it is an official samsung firmware, i found out it is unstable. I flash it back to android 4.1.2 (Malaysia original firmware) but something happen. The "network have not registered" problem. I then found the solution by rooting it and install the modem. But it act funnily as the android seems unstable from before. I flash it over and over again hoping that reverting back to 4.1.2 will be the same as before but i ended up using 4.2 as the 4.1.2 have network problem. I already search the forum and find many solutions but none provide the files that i need. I also have tried KIES method by recovery and initializing method but it resulted the same. "Network has not registered. The only solution is to root it and i would really like to NOT to root my phone.
My question is, can someone provide me with necessary files such as the pit files, phone (modem) and the CSC files that specifically for Malaysia regions? I already have the firmware file. Please guys. The instability of 4.3 is driving me crazy.
BTW im using i9300.

You are going to brick your phone if you flash things without understanding them.
Go to general forum and read the sticky post, especially efs 'know this stuff'.
Flashing a pit file WILL brick your phone.
When you flashed 4.3 you upgraded to efs v2, there is no way back. You can only use EMGx and later modems now, find a later modem that will work in your country, either with 4.1 or 4.3.
Edit. Backup your efs, perform a factory reset, flash your 4.1 country rom then an EMG modem.

What you`ll need is a new version of 4.1.2 with a mg4 baseband or latest, the 4.3 rom changed your efs folder format. If you want to stick with your 4.1.2 go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43946365&postcount=15 and flash that emergency.zip (mg4 baseband), it should do the job.

i9300 galaxy s3 IMEI lost and something showing on the homescreen
last time i had flashed my galaxy s3 i9300 to the leaked official android 4.3 , after updated battery drain fast so i decided to downgrade to official 4.1.2 , but after i downgrade IMEI lost and show emergency call only , and something is showing on the homescreen . I really need some help

hi ive just picked up an i9300 which is on 4.0.4....when i check for updates on the phone it says none available also when connected to kies it says the phone cant be updated using kies
after doing some research i discovered it had 2 counts in the custom binary download but was on official current binary and system status in the download mode screen
anyway ive rooted and used triangle away n it now shows as no counts....but still no ota updates n still kies says cant be updated..tried temp unroot and root keeper but still no joy
now ive flashed stuff before on other phones but with this one i gather i need to flash the stock rom to remove root but have looked everywhere with no joy only stuff i can find are foreign roms on 4.0.4 nothing newer
im in the uk with an unlocked s3 i9300 with the following info:
AP: I9300XXALE8
CP; I9300XXLE8
CSC; I9300OJVALE7
My main questions are has this been updated beyond 4.0.4
where can i find the correct stock rom
would reflashing the rom make the counter go up
if its not been updated past 4.0.4 id not be that fussed but its always nice to run the latest available official update, dont wanna go the custom rom route
please dont tell me off...ive looked honest!

Here's the deal:
I have a Samsung galaxy S3 I9300 bought from China, it was working normal without any problem until I wanted to install another Firmware beceause the Chinses didn't have any Gapps (no Google maps, no Gmail, no Chrome...), ... didn't go well (lost the IMEI and I got one starting with 0049..., so I can't make any calls or other things with my SIM card).
I reflashed it with Chinese rom, I still have the 0049 IMEI and I lost the CSC, when I dial *#1234# I get:
AP: I9300ZCEMF2
CP: I9300ZCELL1
CSC: Unknown
the ROM already installed: I9300ZCEMF2_I9300CHNEMF2_I9300ZCELL1_HOME.tar.md5 So I am now downloading another Chinese ROM (with android 4.3 in it) the file name is I9300ZCUBML1_I9300CHNBML1_CHN.zip so technecally the PDA version is I9300ZCUMBL1
Some informations:

Android 4.1.2
BaseBand Version: I9300ZCELL1

Here's what I want from you guys:
If I install this ROM, what could go wrong? I mean could I have more problems than i already have?
Obviously, I am trying to do is
1.get rid of the CSC unknown
2.get my IMEI back
If the flash will be succefull Do i have any chance of fixing any of these problems? If installing the new ROM won't do anything about it, how can I fix it?
I hope that my problem is clear. and if you need any more information just tell me, I'll update as soon as possible.
