[Q] Android 4.3 is Blocking a J5 Create Mirror Connection - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

I just received my J5 Create JUC600 Android Mirror Control device and follows all the instructions to mirror my Verizon Galaxy S4 to Windows 7. During the connection process, it stops and the shield icon notification on my Android says it blocked an app from attempting to reach a restricted area.
I've searched everywhere on the forums trying to solve this, I hear there a bugs in the Samsung KNOX app causing this message to pop up frequently. I went in the app manager and force stopped all KNOX activity and it the connection still gets blocked.
I set the Android to allow apps from unknown sources and checked the debugging mode on. I even did a factory data reset on my Galaxy S4 as I heard this help some users fix a bug in the 4.3 update. Still no success.
Please help! Thanks everyone!

You need ROOT

Bare in mind, the following will void your warranty and failure to follow instructions explicitly could very well brick your device. That being said...
If you haven't already done so, you need to root your phone (instructions can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963806).
Installing SuperSU or Superuser (I highly recommend SuperSU) which ever you prefer will initially fail due to KNOX, easy enough, Go to "Settings", "More", "Application Manager", scroll right to "All" and forc stop each of the four instance of KNOX (as well as clear data where applicable). Go back to your apps list and run SuperSU (or Superuser if you chose to do such). Please note that I do use and have only ever used SuperSU so I am personally not sure if Superuser will work the same. When you start SuperSU it will notify you that ROOT has been blocked by KNOX and ask if you wish to disable it. Select yes, you will have to repeat the steps above afterwards to force stop all instance of KNOX and clear all data. Restart your phone and run a ROOT verifier of your liking to verify that you have ROOT. After this process is complete your J5 Android Mirror will finally work for you.

Samsung phones running 4.3+ with JUC600
Samsung phones running 4.3 and higher have the signal from the JUC600 cable blocked. The latest firmware version will prompt the installation of a different USB driver called the AoA driver in order to get around this issue. As long as the cable's firmware has been updated to 14.01.0124.00.00 and the software has been updated to match this driver should install automatically. You may need to cycle through USB connection types in order to get that driver installed correctly. There will be a notification on the phone's screen that asks if you want to allow juclink to run and you will need to hit ok. From there the mirror should work.

[Q] [Android Issues] Please Help Me To Better Understand

I recently got a like new second hand Samsung Galaxy Beam GT-I8530.
- The phone is carrier/SIM unlocked. I currently am using it with SIMPLE MOBILE
- When I got the phone it already had Android version 4.1.2 installed.
- I don't install a lot of apps nor do I fall for the trending apps.
Since I got the phone these are the apps I have installed.
Xabber & ChatSecure: Both are "almost" the same thing just different look. One does MUC better than the other.
DoggCatcher
TWIT Pro
Skype
Swype+Dragon
Twitter
Wifi Analyzer
Barcode Scanner
Bank Of America App
ConnectBot: I downloaded this to make sure that the phone wasn't rooted. I only seem to have $. When I type "su" into local I get: su: uid 10134 not allowed to su. This is enough to let me now that the phone is not rooted.
DuckDuckGo App
Firefox
Google Voice
Greenify: I installed this to help me manage the phone's RAM for issues I will describe below.
Nova Launcher: Installed for same reason as Greenify.
OpenVPN Connect
PlayStation App
RealCalc
Running [Nike App]:
||I updated all the stock apps those of Google [e.g. google maps, google search, etc] as well as those Samsung apps that needed updating like Samsung Push Service.
Now this is what's happening to my phone
Sometimes while using the phone this will freeze/lockup yet the ongoing activity stays active. For example, if the freeze/lock happens while I'm watching a downloaded video podcast then I wont know till after I press the volume button or a softkey. We could argue the the press of the button is what caused the phone to freeze but these apps/features are designed to allow you to turn the volume up and down or stop video playback and/or exit application as your own will. Anyways, once the phone freezes I have to either: let the phone mitigate the issue and prompt me with a message acknoledging that said app is not responding with options to report, wait & ok [this can time 1+] OR I just force restart the phone by holding the power button.
The above has happened to me mostly during downloaded video playback but it has also happened while steaming youtube videos, using Firefox, as well as, during a phone call. For the phone call case, this happened right when I press the home button to bring me back to the locked screen. I wanted to access my contacts. No button was responding, yet phone call connection very much stable. Good thing that it wasn't someone I wanted to hang up to.
To make things more fun, I sometimes get the following error. This error happens out of nowhere.
[RST_STAT = 0x00000008]
Android logo with a voice cloud thing which inside has a loading loop but this is not looping.
Then it says: KERNEL PANIC UPLOAD MODE
This is very annoying for this automatically render the phone as unreliable. Nothing more would suck than to miss important call just because felt like going into a panic attack. [insert Dream Theater's Panic Attack song here] :silly:
What I have & have not done to this phone
I've not rooted, not even the attempt to.
I did disabled almost all the stock Samsung apps. I see not need to use them sign my soul away with the another devil when I already have with Google. Moreover, the system does allow me to disable them.
ChatOn
S Planner
S Planner Widget
Samsung Account
Samsung Apps
Samsung Backup
Samsung Backup Provider
Samsung Broswer Sync
Samsung Calendar Sync
Samsung Setup Wizard
And the rest of the like.
I did not disable those apps which names are follows:
com.samsung.app.playeradyui
com.samsung.InputEventApp
and the like.
I did disable widgets that I would never use. Widgets like: live wallpapers or weather. For weather I use Google search.
In further troubleshooting my phone I did re-enable all of the stuff I had disabled. To be honest. The Kernel Panic error happened more often during the period in which the above apps widgets were disabled. Now the phone still locks up and the kernel panic has happened only once.
Given that the phone freezing/locking-up is very similar to low RAM availability/management is how I arrived to installing:
Greenify: Said to be very good for RAM management [sadly it requires root]
Nova Launcher: For its said priority on speed & performance without eating too much resources
Questions
During my research I've ran into a vast sea of technical knowledge regarding custom ROMs to how to gain root access in my phone [source being this very forums]
Rooting
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1809784&page=1
Custom ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39769056&postcount=75
Even information about a firmware update. This info is always accompany with a region/country. I have no idea how to find out my phones country.
http://www.tsar3000.com/Joomla/inde...laxy-beam-firmware&catid=57:how-to&Itemid=104
- Would doing any of the above help me fix my ongoing phone issues: Kernel panic & phone freezing/locking up?
- Would rooting the phone knowing that something is wrong if the kernel be a good idea?
- How do I know if my phone has the latest firmware?
I've read and also told to replace the kernal. To which i said "huh?"
My kernel version is 3.0.31-928810-eng [email protected] #2 some more stuff and the the date Tue Feb 5 21:42:02 KST 2013
I've been told to clear the system cache in recovery. How would I do that?
I read that, in the case of other phones models, that reflashing the stock ROM could help. When I got my phone it already had android 4.1.2 & why would I want to bring it back to gingerbread. For what I've read, the Samsung Galaxy Beam GT-8530 originally came with gingebread and later on Samsung released an update which brought it up to Jelly Beam.
Miscellaneous
I could tell my pnone was not rooted because Greenify nor Nova Launcher could gain root access. What drove me to doubt this was the fact that under BUILD NUMBER it displays "test-keys"
So it is: GT-I8530-eng 4.1.2 blah blah then it ends with test-keys.
I've not been able to find anything related to "test-keys" in Android as the operating system. I've only been able to find articles dealing "test-keys" with android app development.
Furthermore, if i were to try to check for a system update I get the following message [perhaps this is the starndard message for when there is no new updates for your system]
I go to system settings > about phoone > software update then I press Update
Software Update
Your device has been modified. Software updates are not available.
Please excuse the long first post. So much research has left me in "information overload"
Thanks
AFAIK the kernel panic mode happens when incompatible kernel modules are there inside the kernel. Changing to a custom kernel might fix the issues. The Software Update saying device modified is because flash counter is raised in Download mode(for more info search triangle away thread)

Of course you are right. I've wondered what the constant "triangle" references that I've run to were all about. I had come to assumed it was some kind of terminology. I turns out that there really is a triangle
With that said. Frak!, this phone has indeed been flashed before. Putting the phone on download mode volume-key down+Home button+Power does show a yellow triangle with an exclamation point inside. As far as a count of how many times it has been flashed, that is not shown.
Now this has me not fully trusting the current ROM. Is there a possibility that the Triangle is a result of the upgrade from Gingerbread to Jelly Beam? The Samsung Galaxy Beam GT-I8530 was originally shipped with Gingerbread 2.3.6 and later Samsung released and update which brought it to Jelly Beam 4.1.2
With the above question in mind, if I were to re-flash the original Samsung release of Jelly beam 4.1.2 for GT-I8530 would I still have the triangle issue?
I was not able to find any official downloads at the Samsung website. The best I've found is on this website
http://www.mobiada.com/06881/update...-4-1-2-xxamf1-firmware/?ModPagespeed=noscript
What I don't like about the article is that the download link clearly says Jellybeam 4.1.1. Firmware Update Package. Whatever happened to 4.1.2?
OK, now all I need is to be sure of what to do next
- Can I just reflash the official Samsung release of Jellybeam 4.1.2 for GT-I8530 [if I can find it somewhere] back to to the phone? Would automatically remove the Triangle or would I still have to make use of Triangle Away?
I prefer the above for it just might fix the Kernel issue I'm experiencing.
Btw, just to be sure I need confirmation that I found the right Triangle Away thread [Triangle Away being an app].

Newer samsung phones dont show the flash counter but they do show that the phone is Custom(CURRENT BIN: CUSTOM ,SYSTEM MODIFIED etc) in download mode and even if u flash the original firmware ur phone will still have the flash count. Although Im not sure if ur device is supported by Triangle Away and if isnt install the Triangle Away app and launch it(it will obviously say not support) and choose the option create triangle away dump file and request for support in the triangle away thread.

Thanks for following up.
Under ODIN mode, my phone did indeed say "CUSTOM"
Because of this I decided to go ahead and cross the unknown waters of the Flash Rom ocean. I found several other post about Jelly Beam for GT-I8530. All of them point to the same download link [isn't that something. I wonder who copy who]
Anyways, Flashing the ROM went very smoothly and my phone is now more responsive than before.
The Built number no longer includes "test-keys"
The Software Update message now has changed to "The latest Updates Have already been insalled"
Under ODIN mode now it does clearly says that the device has been flashed once "Yes (1 counts)" Furthermore, it says Current Binary: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL
Triangle Away
I'm not yet able to post on the development forums. I will have to stay active for a while before being able to ask a questions on the thread. Furthermore, I need to buy a USB jig [already on its way from amazon]
Now what i need to find is a way to gain root [SU] this phone. The one I previously found is meant for android Gingerbread, not Jelly Beam =(

Strange problem with my Galaxy S4 Verizon SCH-1545 of no sound, video or app work

I've Galaxy S4 Verizon - SCH1545 with 5.0.1 Lollipop and Baseband 1545VRUGOF1. Bought a month ago, it worked fine for 15 days but then sound went off. Also I was unable to play any video nor any application is working. Getting error of Unfortunately UI has stopped and(App) is not responding. Upon trying below steps, sound comes sometime and app works fine then but it doesn't stay long when again starts same behavior. I get it when start phone and it doesn't play the sound when shows Samsung logo.
1. Cleared the cache of Play Store, Google Framework and Google Play Services
2. Wiped cache partition and Factory Reseted
3. Rooted the device
4. Unable to install TWRP or CWM
5. Odin gives Nand write error
6. If phone stuck with "Use Verizon Software Repair Assistant...", able to bring it back by CF Auto JFLTEXX-GTI9505.tar.md5. Although Odin gives error but after error, I disconnect the USB cable and phone starts
7. Tried Verizon Software Repair Assistant and Samsung Kies to update the firmware but same issue
8. Can't find GooManager in Play Store. Installed by APK but GooManager doesn't find any list or unable to find Script (to install TWRP)
9. Rooted the phone. Confirmed by Root Checker but Flash Fire shows "are you rooted?"
will be very thankful for anyone who has idea or had same problem.
As far as I understand custom recoveries are only available for MDK. Your best bet is to odin your current build and start there.

I don't mind any rom or whatever settings are. Just want to solve sound and other issues I'm facing.
I tried Samsung Kies and Verizon Software Repair Assistant to reload the firmware but still the same issue of sound goes off, youtube, apps and videos don't play.
I know its not hardware problem because this all gets ok sometimes after maybe reset, wipe cache, clear play store/services storage or factory reset... then goes off again after some time.
thanks for the reply
noticed one more thing. If I keep it off for few hours, the sound come back. And again goes off after some time.

help guys with s9 plus showing rooted message

I just bought a secon handed s9 plus and installed mobileiron, starting with the profil creation an error message showed up telling that security policy prevents creating a work profile because a custom os has been installed, phone is showing knox version and seems locked even in rot checker it saying not complete root, i dont really understand such thing.
Another tmessage poped from samsung pass telling that is rooted device how should i solve this, i need to install mobileiron it is mandatory.
Thnx for the support guys
Do you have a G965F? You can try flashing a complete stock firmware package and see if that fixes it. If not then perhaps the app is detecting that the bootloader/Knox has been tripped, in which case your only solution might be to go with full on root and use a module to hide root.

Question Odin says pass but no changes

So i'm trying to remove a google account from this device. Tried all ways and is still asking for the same thing - account previously used on the device to continue.
The tabled was setup by somebody and eventually lost access. Tried to factory reset it but no luck. FRP enabled.
Is there something i am doing wrong maybe? Thank you!

It's hard to advise since you haven't said what exactly you're doing.
The more detailed you describe, the easier it will be to help you.
FRP can only be removed on a running system, not by flashing the firmware.
I am trying to remove the FRP.
I thought with the firmware i could reset the tablet.
So i have lost access to the synced account basically. I am trying to bypass the security. Tried to recover the password for the google account but since it was a new tabled with a new account i have not so many informations to be able to recover it.
I have also tried the method with Alliance Shield but i can't access Google Play neither.
Have you unlocked bootloader? It's there in the developer settings as "OEM Bootloader Unlock"
I cannot trigger developer mode. Tried but no luck. No message apears when i tap Build Number or any info about the device.
Are you sure you did it right? You are supposed to tap 'build number' seven times, because tapping once will not help. You may already know the above fact, though
Edit: Spelling error.
I did. Nothing happens. Tapped several times but nothing pops up. I am an apple user this is my cousin's tablet received as a gift this Christmas. He is only 9, tried to set it up himself with the help of another cousin....They forgot the password and tried to factory reset it after.
Also, there are quite a few videos about disabling FRP, have you tried them out yet?
Yes i did ... no luck ... I am taken to different not-so-trusted websites with unknown programs (potentially viruses).
Just found this here where it says to clear cache partitions:
Developer Mode Not Showing
I have the SM-N9600 model on TMO, running 8.1, and not rooted. I tapped the Build Number repeatedly to turn on Developer Mode, and I accessed it the first time, but now it's not showing up anyplace. Also, when I try to redo it again, a little pop...
forum.xda-developers.com
Please try it out as I don't have a physical tab on me. I am sure it will not remove data and such, so feel free to do so. You can access it by booting into the recovery options.
It also says that you can alternatively "Place a Nova Activities widget on your desktop, then, take a look around in the Settings section of the widget, see if there's something for Developer Options."
I did clear the cache several times. Factory reseted the phone also but no luck.
Is it possible for you to use ADB instead of using Odin? I am not sure if it will allow you to pass through without oem bootloader unlock enabled, but it's worth a try.
You also should remember to install adb platform tools and also install samsung dev drivers.
ADB not working neither.
I think I know exactly what is the issue either you should downgrade to FW patch prior feb 22 since KNOX doesn't allow to run developer option unless work environment is set-up. In those upgrades you can use Talkback for FRP bypass.
You can try pro disabler method to enable knox and get developer options then from there.
After disable knox https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ite-emergency-call-factory-test-mode.4502277/
@Abish4i so if knox is removed, dev settings are also removed? Could you please explain it to me if that's fine by you?
Once you get Knox verification done Developer options are enabled by system. You cannot remove knox without adb unless using Root.
When i try to install any apk the settings crashes. I don't think there is any hope for this device ...
Is it organization owned? What is your current FW patch?

Question New stock, unmodified S23 Ultra; banking apps and samsung pass doesn't work, saying it's rooted but it's not

Hey! So yeah, loving the phone but it's giving me a headache; it's not rooted or tampered with. Not even OEM unlocked. Only developer options were unlocked. Apps and settings were migrated from my previous Samsung phone with SmartSwitch.

All kinds of root and safetynet and whatever apps pass and software and security patches are up to date (Google Play 1 January 2023, Android security patch 1 February 2023, Status: Official)
But Samsung Pass says "Your device has been rooted. Samsung Pass cannot be used on rooted devices for security reasons." Banking apps are obscure but one does give some hints as to the possible causes: modification attempt through hooking, using untrusted screen reader application, root or jailbreak, using untrusted keyboard application.
I use AdGuard and a 3rd party launcher (Flick) instead of OneUI and FlorisBoard keyboard but even if they are uninstalled the issue stays. I don't use any other major apps, just a bunch of regular apps. I don't use "screen reader" as far as I know and TalkBack is disabled.
This is really annoying and I can see dozens of similar cases even for older Sxx generations sometimes after updates and happening out of nowhere and even with new stock phones. People report that sometimes factory reset helps but sometimes doesn't and sometimes it only helps for a while.
I really don't want to factory reset just to try if it works until I exhausted all other options. It took me well over a day to set up everything the way I wanted.
Any help other than reset is very much appreciated!
Find Samsung Pass in apps...and clear data.
^Thanks, but it didn't help.

I have the same issue and Im thinking about it is caused by smart switch from my old s21u which was rooted. Did You use smart switch too? Maybe I should do a factory reset, but then I lose all my stuff..
^Yep, I also used SmartSwitch with a rooted S9+. And I did find a few posts about SmartSwitch being the issue. But there are also some posts that said that reseting and not using SmartSwitch but manually installing all the apps they used the issue came back later. So far not using SmartSwitch is the only thing that might help but hopefully there's something else I can do to fix this without reseting.
