Okay so while everyone is looking out for Cyanogenmod 9, I'm still wondering about CM7...
Simple question, if there is already a stable build, what are the purpose of the Nightly builds? In the link http://www.cyanogenmod.com/devices/samsung-galaxy-s2 you can select between, Stable, Experimental and Nightly builds. Why would one choose a Nightly build over the Stable build?
Because a nightly is the latest version of the rom. But it is likely to have more bugs then the stable.
For our device there is no CM build labeled as stable. But the nightly builds are stable for daily use.
Can you still follow me? It's just how the rom is labeled.

That's not entirely true, there is a build labeled "stable", here.
However, it's an old build, and you would be better off using a more recent build. I would go as far as recommending a kang build, because the latest nightly is also old. There will be no more nighties for CM7, because CM9 should arrive... in the near future.
The latest semi-official kang, built by codeworkx, is here.
I'm using Novek's build without problems (it contains more recent commits than codeworkx's), which you can download here.
Anyone know what is different between CM9 nightlies and CM tenderloin ROM ?
Note: still waiting for TP Mic working with ICS !
Dont quote me on it...
But tenderloin is the name of kernel source for HP Touchpad...so every rom will have that word in it as everyone is using CM's kernel....
Difference between nightly and the rom is that....devs picks small fixes and stuff from many palces and includes them in the nightlies...when bunch of nightlies reaches a point where they make difference..they are converted into the next release of the rom...
All of these ROMs are based off of Ice Cream Sandwich. Each developer(s) put their own stuff on it though. For instance, I am using the AOKP ROM and it has a lot more customization options than CM9. Other than that, they are pretty much the same.
Nightlies are releases usually every night, and contain small fixes that were worked on that day. However, there can also be many more bugs than stable (alpha/beta) releases.
Hey all how you doing? Happy new year!!
So basically I'm asking if the stable version of CM for I9100 is "really" stable, I mean what do you think about the battery consumption and how to reduce it? And one more thing, is the release 10.1.3 the latest jelly bean before KitKat??
I'd show my appreciation for answers
Thank you.
Upppp??

well cyanogenmod is rom developer where you can hardly find bugs (may be in nightlies) but never in a stable release !!
the battery is googd depends on how long you have your mobile if its 2 years and older you must know the battery depreciation percentage but mails few games fb and blah blah makes you cross a day without pain
well if u want a stable CM rom yes 10.1.3 is the stable which is this : http://download.cyanogenmod.org/get/jenkins/42506/cm-10.1.3-i9100.zip
but the lastest nightly which is currently http://download.cyanogenmod.org/get/jenkins/53595/cm-10.2-20140102-NIGHTLY-i9100.zip
this is as stable as the 10.1.3
but CM 11 kiktat is still not in development stage but if you want the best kitkat rom
oficially supported by MOKEE i personally use this super fast and almost bugless rom you can ever fine give it a try if u want

I'd have pressed Thanks twice if I could Thanks for your reply
and I'll surely try MoKee But can you provide me with Gapps for 44.2 release?
Hi, some of you told me that want OMNIRom so I'm downloading sources now, I'll build 4.4.4, but next month I'll build OMNI 5.0 and others roms like du, but I have three reasons for build 5.0 next month:
1st, I have to sync all again in order to get 5.0 branch, and some roms don't have a solid base to start.
2nd, I want to see if CM device and vendor files for razr works, because, to build 5.0 i have to change some tools that only works for 5.0, so I can't build 4.4.4 like now.
3rd, I think that first build from CM comes on december, and it'll have a lot of bugs like 4.4, and the roms won't have a lot of stuff because, developers have to port all the features to lollipop.
Of course if someone wants to build it before me can do
Regards,
Juan Pablo Toniolo
And we should be lucky if the CM team make a working Lollipop rom for our phones...
Sent from my Razr XT910

I think yes, because on omap4 and vendor and umts_spyder now have branch cm12, soooooo I'm sure that we have lollipop on RAZR
Guys, about support or maintience for all the roms that I build, I don't know how to, because I have 4 roms on my HDD Omni, DU, AOKP, and ProBAM, I love build roms, but I only have 250HDD reserved to android and now I only have 8gb free, so I can build only one rom(for xt910 and for xt912) per day. I don't want any money for this I only told you because, all roms that I build works but have some things that work bad or didn't work , I will try to do all my best to fix all the errors and give away stables roms to use it as daily driver, I can't try all the roms in slot stock so all the feedback would be apreciated.
To close this message. I want to ask you wich rom you prefer to build first(build, to build everything and try to fix some things), you have to know that I will make a new once a week for all the roms, but maybe for example I have to fix SU and a little thing in tiles for pro bam, in AOKP I want to change one thing to display the number of the month and I have to fix another thing that I no remember now, but think that fix anything on any rom tooks me one day, this will delay all the others maybe… my idea is to work on the errors at the week and in weekend, starting from friday, build all the roms, but, today and maybe tomorrow I want to work with Omni, so "weekly" builds from others roms will be avaliable from monday. The only thing that I want from you is to put all the "errors" or "bugs" in the "bugs" section in oder to be more easy to me to find all the problems that rom have, and fix it as soon as I can, and If you want I can upload to other server and put another build for BMM(with meta-inf changed, this will be the only change that I'll do)
Anndddd I delete "cellbroadcastreciever.apk" in order to have signal in all of the builds but of anyone needs this apk I can put ir again or make a flasheable zip to add again this app. And I have a new gapps with aroma installer made by me in order to install only the gapps that you want and install aditional apps, like whats app +, nova launcher and some usual apps
Regards and sorry for a extended message,
Juan Pablo Toniolo

This morning I upgraded to 14.04 for performance reasons. After I finish syncing the cm12 repo, I will properly use the lunch command instead of the "outdated" breakfast one(I couldn't get blobs or device specific code). I will report back if I get a successful build.
Syncing should be done in a hour or two.

It would be great if you can focus more on DU 4.4.4 @tonyt.

I will fix DU and AOKP, and then I'll build OMNI and AOSP 5.0 and DU(lollipop) and AOKP(lollipop) but first I have to build and fix all the ROMS 4.4.4 because when I want to build Lollipop I have to change SDK and other tools and I can't build 4.4.4 anymore

You are the best! Waiting for the last build then.
I want install a custom rom on my girlfriend's galaxy s2, but I would be sure that the rom I choose hasn't camera/audio/3g/wifi bugs. I saw the paranoid rom with android 4.4 and cm rom 12.1 nightly but I'm undecided which one to choose. Can someone give me a suggestion? Also on other rom
If you want to run on a newer Android version, here's a link to a unofficial CyanogenMod ROM of Lysergic Acid. The newest build is Android 5.1.2 but I don't know if everything works. I am using an older build (03/31 EOL Build) which is Android 5.0.2. No major bugs at me, WiFi, Network, Bluetooth, Camera, Audio all working. Only noticed that device is getting very hot at hard usage and sometimes WiFi Hotspot doesn't work. Battery lifetime is ok. I don't recommend the official nightly version because as the name says it's full of bugs.

If you want to avoid any kind of little bugs here is a stable official version of CM:
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=i9100&type=stable
Hope this helps.
