So your problem is not with init.d but with your tweak which you probably want us to guess what it is?
Hey bro when I put any thing on the init.d it boot loops my concern here how to make it RUn not bootloop
What kernel are you using what do you put in init.d?
init.d usually start in kernel if it has init.d support or from/etc/install-recovery.sh for stock.
shouldn't be any problems unless it's something with scripts you put in init.d.
Upload your rom or post init.d files

hello everybody
my friend neo just made a themed MIUI rom
i am using it and its great
but before putting it on development section i want to know are there any takers for this
here is how it is different from drnotors rom
build it frm famous Mik's ROM 6.5.7 stable
Franco kernel 19.2
s97 script
Zram enabled
Loopy script set
ungaze's a2sd included
few modules added
locked memory for launcher so its cached and no lag in using launcher with script, also call, msg and so on....
battery backup really good...
Since he has already made changes in framework for transperancy on Lense lock and taskbar...need not install a separate patch like Dr.notor....
pls let me know
thanks

Hello,
My XMP is running on stock ICS 4.0.4 with stock kernel. I followed this thread to enable init.d scripts. So hopefully init.d scripts is enabled in my device how to use init.d scripts? do the init.d scripts that run on GB run on ICS too? Which init.d scripts can I use in my XMP?
Thanks in advance

As my Mini hasn't received ICS yet, I can't confirm, but as u said that u enabled init.d scripts I think u can run any script u want. ICS uses the same kernel so it shouldn't be a problem i guess. Try Supercharger and Kickass Kernelizer

Installing supercharger for ICS seems too complicated to me. Plus itseems I've to de-odex or the process becomes even more complicated. I had read somewhere that after de-odexing I will not be able to theme to my device So I'm not ready to do that
How exactly do I need to use the scripts? Just Place it in /system/etc/init.d and run it in script manager with run as root and run on boot enabled?

Try this tutorial for installing Supercharger and KickAssKernelizer- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1568792
It also has links for other init.d scripts
That tut is for GB.. v6 supercharger's original thread has a separate tut for ICS..

You do not need to enable init.d scripts when using supercharger, on ICS or on GB (I used it on stock GB and now using it on stock ICS). What you need to do is go to /data/99SuperCharger.sh -> load up on boot -> run as root. For ICS, you also do not need to the complicated part e.g. the one where you need to patch the services.jar BUT you only get 50% effect of the supercharger. I didn't do it myself but if we have a deodexed one, it will be a one-click process to do by using that webapp he mentioned.

Alright. But is it true that deodexed ROMs can't be themed?
Hi all,
I've tried some "generic" init.d scripts (namely TweakzV6), but I've had to reflash because it completely stalled my Sola ...
Bad luck.
Hence my question : do you know of good init.d scripts that are Sola "compliant" and that will enhance ICS stock ROM performances ?
Tks

Thread says that links will be available as soon as Maclaw gives his permission. Shouldn't take long IMO. And to OP; thanks for adding init.d and a file manager. The omission of a file manager made me nuts...
CM9 beta 3 is out there currently working on it!
Waiting for the download link
Will apreciate download link. i lost my mind because ICS/JB have low ram for user usage .. but with 180MB OMG

Ya, i know CM9 has that.. what i said before is specifically for maclaw's CM9.. i guess maclaw's CM9 has no init.d support in it (fifth post).. thats what from what the dev said from the first post, his version will have init.d support
Peace
I am sorry for the delay but please wait a few more days and I will make it on the base of CM9 FINAL3

CM9 by maclaw kernel does not support int.d I have modded the kernel so as to enable int.d support with swap in internal partition.
Really , if you don't know all CM Roms have init.d support by default and that even includes Maclaw's version ...when i installed the Rom i flashed many scripts which Run from the Init.d folder and my Rom booted ....check the zip file the folder is already present !!

Time to clear this up once & for all
1) I too have a CM9 project based on Maclaw sources & base... I have been working on this project for many months now
The early releases of maclaws builds which include ICS aosp/ JB aosp/CM9 official source builds were indeed lacking in Init.d support, later releases had the folder directory but failed to read the contents of the init.d folder on boot...:crying:
The latest releases which include CM9 final3 DO have fully working init.d support, so any plan to include it in any release based on the latest build of CM9 is completely unnecessary ...
2) I am currently working with PSNDNA88 on a new Kernel for Ace, based on the last firekernel released by @dragonn...
PSNDNA88 is the only Dev that I am aware of that has created & implemented the internal mem xpansion & /data swap modification...
Now you state that you have modded the kernel yourself with these exact same memory modifications, correct ?
If that is indeed the case, then we need proofs of this for the purpose of making sure the correct credits are assigned by respective rom devs if they use your kernel with your mods included... If proofs are not provided that you did indeed do the kernel mods yourself, then credits may well be given to PSNDNA88 as he is the only Dev to have released this particular type of kernel mod anywhere on XDA & so it would follow that peeps will assume that this is indeed the work of PSNDNA88 & not yourself...
I am not trying to "Piss on your fire" bro, but things need to be correct... Peeps need to have a clear understanding of who is responsible for what !!!
Anyway, I look forward to seeing your end product bro...
Stay Breezy n Be Lucky :highfive:
Pe"ACE"
FYI : "COMING SOON" threads are particularly frowned upon & have been recently added to the official list of "THINGS YOU DO NOT DO !!!", so be careful not to invoke the rath of the forum Mod team...
I am so sorry I didn't mentioned PSNDNA88 he also helped me in modding the kernel of galaxy ace. It is on his cm9 mod only
