Ok, there are two optimus f6 variants I know of, my metropcs version and a tmobile version.
The metro pcs version has a crippled sdk, offering only ten or so tv manufacturers and cable boxes. Nothing else.
This makes the app essentially useless as a true universal remote.
I'm hoping someone can help me either mod the quick setup sdk lite app or replace it with a more comprehensive version like what comes on the other lg phones with ir blaster.
Specifically I want to control an Olivia television, Kenwood home audio system and Panasonic dvd/vcr combo.

Hi,
in LG G2 Android Development (Verizon) section, in malladus ROM under download section with goo.im service, there is the full package of G2 LG apps. The Quick Remote of G2 is 161 MB. I think it would be good for you. The entirely package is about 700/800 MB, if you want only QR I can try to upload it.

Still no luck bringing my lgms500 back to life. Any shared knowledge of the "hs-usb_dload' mode would be greatly appreatiated. Attempted a few methods using terminal command in linux but from what i'm reading the partitions are locked? Linux (ubuntu) does not see the partitions.

Sorry, though it was ok to chime in with a related issue?
I don't mean to be rude, but how is attempting to flash over a locked boot loader related?
Sent from my SGH-T999N using Tapatalk
I guess that was my mistake, my original thread was moved here by an administrator, didn't realize it wasn't relevant until you started saying something.
Let's go back to the subject.
I have both LG G2 and F6.
G2 IR remote app is way superior to the F6, which is rudimentary.
I believe, however, that hardware is the same and only the software for IR is different.
Unfortunately I was not able to install any of the G2 QR software apks to F6.
Hopefully someone will be able to help.

so my question is if there any possibility of near field communication on Optimus one?
I don't think this is possible for LG but XDA devs are smart than LG
so what did you think guys?

I don't know what is the need for a separate thread for this question. NFC is a hardware dependant feature and the DEVs cannot do anything unless the phone has the required hardware. Please read what is NFC before opening up threads for that. I wouldn't be surprised if somebody opens a thread asking the devs to implement video calling and 3D camera in LG O1.
Unfortunately not ...
Well its a legit question, presuming this user knows its a hardware based chip. Sir I recommend googling nfc microsd chip, Im looking at it as a possibilty, instead of upgrading to a nexus s.

The possibility does exist.
While the Optimus does not natively have the required hardware, it can be plugged in by replacing the SD Card with a NFC equipped SD Card (i.e., Tyfone's "u4ia" platform). Of course, that leaves the problem of interfacing with the chip. Tyfone does have SDK and kits for phones, but it is unclear who is going to write the actual code.
With Google announcing Google Wallet, it is at least conceivable that they might try and push for Android integration of the Tyfone code. It would be a neat way to jump-start the market....
I ve read this article in this link http://www.phonearena.com/news/LG-t...te-many-of-its-devices-to-Android-4.4_id51571
It seems many LG devices get direct kitkat update, but not l9, if l9 is not compatible for android 4.4, why can't atleast get 4.3? Do anyone have clear ideas about this?
Sent from my LG-P765 using xda app-developers app
Android does not officially support TI OMAP CPUs as of 4.4 and if I'm not mistaken the L9 uses one so were out of luck. You could always try your hand at unlocking your bootloader and flashing a custom 4.4 or even 4.3 build
Sent from my LG-P769 using xda app-developers app
Honestly there is nothing that LG or T-Mobile could put out that can touch any of the custom roms available for this phone anyways. There are a couple Unofficial CM 11 roms availible and I have not had a problem with it.
I thought atleast we would get a 4.3 update, anyway we I will try custom ROMs
Sent from my LG-P765 using xda app-developers app
But the list mentions L9 II will get 4.4 update, how is our L9 similar to it's successor? Is it possible to port the update from the L9 II to L9?

I's not that the device isn't KitKat compatible, I also have an ARMv6 Optimus One, old and slow, but it fully supports running KitKat. LG Simply doesn't want to support the L9 anymore.
As I've previously stated, not here, and others have also stated, this is my LAST LG device. My money. My blood and sweat made the money, so I should be able to do with it what I want. Plain and simple.
Agreed!!! I dont think I'll ever buy another lg device again... It's my phone and I bought it out right, I should be able to do what I want to do.
Currently I'm thinking of getting a T-Mobile google nexus 5 hopefully in a couple weeks. Which I found out was made in collaboration with lg. Lol. At least the bootloader is unlockable. I guess I might look at some other devices then too.
well think of the cpu not getting anymore updates by its company which isnt lg i mean if you guys want kitkat and are on a budget get the lg optimus l90 its a really good phone that i recently got that i upgraded to

SFR said that LG confirmed the update. Either way, this is pretty great news. Let's hope it makes it's way to the AT&T variant
I dont care if the carrier releases it(it would be nice tho) just as long as an official LG optimus G rom is out there I will put it on my phone. I just love the LG UI. I am using a cm11 which is pretty good
Actually, E970 should get Kit Kat earlier than the other variants
LG has already updated the User Agent Profile on its official website:
Old http://gsm.lge.com/html/gsm/E970-M6-D1.xml
New http://gsm.lge.com/html/gsm/E970-M10-D1-KK.xml
G Pro now has a similar profile and it has been updated recently:
http://gsm.lge.com/html/gsm/E980-M10-D1-KK.xml
You can try to put different numbers instead of "970" and check corresponding UAPs

Basically, these links detail backend support details about the system for the official E970 KitKat ROM. It doesn't really contain anything particularly useful per se, but the fact that it exists shows that official KitKat Does exist for the E970.

This is awesome. I sure hope AT&T delivers on this one.
Yeah, I don't expect this at all, with how bad LG is with updating their phones, plus AT&T pushing an update out on a phone this old. I really hope they do, but I have no hope they will.
Still no news about the update for e970. :/
But the official kitkat port is really smooth and stable. I'm grateful that we have such awesome developers working for our device.
im having trouble with messaging threads on Paulicat's but other than that and wifi shutting off every once and a while the rom is better than an lg/att release of it. Their release would have too much bloatware.

Hello folks.
I've got a question about infrared blaster in our phones. There's a bunch of remote control programs in which You can teach Your phone new commands by sending them from f.e. TV Pilot. Question is - does G2 Mini hardware supports it? I mean it can work as a sender, but can it also receive? I tried it once but with no success, maybe i Was doing something wrong?

Hello, as far as I know our IR isn't compatible with Google's api. So we even can't use other applications than Quick Remote
Oh, I see. I heard QuickRemote from G2 have the „Learn” option, there's no such thing in G2 Mini? I haven't found it...

Well, the only thing similiar is the "LG G2" and design. Those two phones are completely different devices and they are so different in fact they could be made by different manufacturers and brands. This is all from technical point of view, of course.
Yep. Smart IR Remote app dev told me that LG only opened the G3 IR blaster code and that is still only for using and not learning. I don't know why is this good for LG. They gain nothing by closing the code. I certainly won't buy another phone just for that.

I saw that there was a software update for the G3. I saw it at gsmarena but I am unable to post a link.
I downloaded the LG Support Tool, but my Sprint G3 cannot connect because the tool does not have drivers for the LGLS990. It is supposed to improve battery life and speed up the UI, basically getting rid of any perceived lag.
