Hi,
is there a way to replace the default Sense Recent Apps on InsertCoin with a simpler version, i.e. AOSP? IIRC there was an option when installing InsertCoin. Is this possible without reflashing the rom?
Thanks

I have the same question, just for MySENSEdx5, so I thought I'd just bump this one.
What can one do to change the "Recent Apps" look?

Great, thanks. Thought this was a general Android question rather than a rom specific one.
Anyway, thanks, will flash it right away!

Hi guys,
Recently I have installed the Omega ROM v10. After it boots up, the system triggers me to choose one of the following TW Launchers:
1) com.sec.android.app.twlauncher
2) samsung.tw4.nextgen
anyone knows what are the differences between these two options? I tried both and I couldn't find the differences...
thanks
the only difference is one is newer then other with some minor fixes.
thx for the reply...but out of curiosity, may i know which one is the updated version?

this is newer
2) samsung.tw4.nextgen
other other is stock that is built into all stock firmware by default.
When I boot my phone, I get two error messages that both say "Unfortunately, the wiper app has stopped."
I installed a clean version of this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1712618
I rooted using TWRP. I'm using sense unlock option with AOSP, if I recall.
I tried removing wiper.apk and wiper.odex from the system/apps folder.
bump....

I'm kind of android retarded. What are some equivalent ROMs to the one I'm using?
I'm not sure what the interface is called, I think Jelly Bean, but basically I have a ring unlock and the home screen has 5 buttons at the bottom of the screen and I can scroll that bar to 2 sets of 5 more buttons.
Are there any better roms without issues that use that interface?
I think you are talking about sense roms
check the development section and ask some questions in the threads of a rom you may like most devs will answer your questions

I'll try doing that -- thanks -- but I noticed your signature had mean bean rom. Is that one similar to the one I'm using? I couldn't find any videos or screenshots to compare...

It's a symlink issue.

MeanBean is very similar. Both ROM's are based on the deodexed version that Viper put together after JB dropped last month. I'm running MeanBean, also. Main difference is some of the tweaks the developers of each ROM are incorporating into their ROM's.

Also. Thanks for this. If the fix doesn't work, I'm going to try that one instead.
Yes... Install it as you would install a ROM
viper's wiper app force close fix
The Link Found Above To Viper's Wiper App Force Close Issue Works 100%.
You Need To make Sure You Install/Flash It Via Recovery. If I'm Not Mistaken Your Recover Should Be Twrp to Ensure It's done Right. Do A Backup In Case You Encounter Any Problems, Naturally, Then Proceed To Install The Zip. Ever Since I Installed It, That Issue Has Been Resolved Completely. Thanks Viper!
I have a few questions that I was wondering about. *I'm a noob at everything beyond rooting and flashing ROMs, so please don't kill me. Also, I can't post on dev forums, so please don't direct me to a dev forum to ask for help.*
A. Does anyone know if it would be safe to use the CameraFirmware.apk file from the IcyFusion ROM to make the camera functional in Remics UX for SGP 4? It is the same firmware even between ROMs because the physical camera hasn't changed, right?
B. How can I make the physical home button work? Is that involved or are there files I can just copy for a quick fix?
C. I noticed that gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip force closes even after I have flashed it. Which version is recommended for the Remics UX SGP 4 ROM?
Thanks in advance to any help you provide, and tell me if there is somewhere more appropriate for me to post this.
EDIT: I realise now that the United States version has a softkey home button, which is what I intended to say by physical home button.

I don't have a SGP4, so I can't answer all of your questions, but I do know that CameraFirmware.apk has nothing to do with taking pictures. It's just a way to update the.... Camera Firmware.

Well... That list is inaccurate. If you do install it, all it provides is an activity to dump or update the camera firmware. You can verify that on any launcher that allows you to add shortcuts to arbitrary activities. If it is needed for any camera app, it is only on stock roms. For example, the SGP5 has that apk on stock, but the camera works in cm10 without it

Getting buttons to work is a kernel configuration issue. For GAPPS, make sure /system has enough space, and try flashing other ICS packages.

Hello i have couple of questions about Desire X.
1) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2391181 has this rom included battery in percentages in rom?
2) what is difference between sense 4+/sense 5.0?
3) is their any way to get button for volume for shooting key in camera? now i have to click in touch to take picture i would like to make it working on some hardware key
4) how can i disable slide-to-unlock because i have installed certificate for using mobile bank but i dont want to have double security(first need to slide-to-unlock than need to unlock patern which i have setted before to use certificates)
5) can i somehow change themes in my installed sense4+? preinstalled themes are i think 3, can i get more?
Ok thats all for now, hope someone can help me little bit
So, let's start:
1) Battery percentages aren't included, you'll have to flash a mod for that, it's linked in OP of ROM thread.#
2) There has been a big design update. Just watch the screenshots of Sense 4 and Sense 5 ROMs, then you'll know. Also there is a new feature called blinkfeed in Sense 5, on which you can specify what kind of news you would like to see first when you unlock your smartphone.
3) On which ROM are you currently? I don't know exactly which camera apps support this feature in which ROM, so someone else needs to answer this one.
4) Settings -> Personalize -> Lockscreen -> No Lockscreen (that's the way in Sense 5, I don't know if it's the same in Sense 4+ though)
5) There are a few themes already in Themes Section, just follow the instructions there

Sense 4 and Sense 5 have the ''no lockscreen'' option, Personalize --> Lockscreen style --> No lock screen
Stock Sense 4 doesn't have lockscreen style, only custom ROM has the feature as it is modded from Full Sense.

I doubt that it is possible, I would say no. Maybe you can try some third party lockscreen application from Google Play, or else you need to unlock, root and install a custom ROM...

Yea see there is really no way how to fix it in stock rom soo i am really thinking now about rooting and installing new rom. Which version be better to use sense4+ or sense5? I want to have good battery time and good speed so there will be no lag and stuff... would be rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2330229 good for using, it was last update almost half year ago?
If you want good battery usage, I'd go for myonedx+ as Lite Sense doesn't use as much battery as Full Sense. Otherwise I'd always recommend mysensedx5 (the Sense 5 version), but however that's only my opinion and you'll have to decide.

Yes. Sense 5 is not that heavy as Sense 4+ so battery usage will be the same as on Lite Sense

Yeah, it's the same like in Sense 4; there are 9 slots for apps to be thrown away by swiping them up.

actually this is the main reason for the existence of roms!
most of the sammy based roms come with touch wiz but it is safe to remove once you installed another launcher (this is absolutely necessary(!)) but it does not use any resources when deactivated so this should be enough.
if you want to have a concrete recommendation I would definitely name the great NeatRom! You have the option to flash it and leave every checkbox in aroma unticked. I guarantee you, this will be absolutely slim and debloated! Have fun
Cheers
Without Touchwiz ?! Touchwiz can't be deleted so any ROM you flash to your phone is either based on an edited version of Touchwiz, or based on AOSP (Stock Android).
If you don't want bloatware or the Touchwiz UI go for Cyanogenmod, otherwise there're plenty of ROMS based on Touchwiz except without all of the bloatware and useless crap.
