Hi! I'am new to this android community and i think it's great! I just rooted my Desire X and i want a good ROM to go over that Sense ****. I have been searching around for ROMs for the DX but i could not find any! I really want Cyanogenmod, but could not find any support for the DX. I don't want to risk my phone, so i want a ROM that is so stable as possible.
Do anybody have anything good to recommend? A link is of course the best.
Thanks!

I'm not a fan of Sense either, but if you want AOSP, for now the best solution is to install Sense Revolution, and then AOSP Invertion mod. I will soon hopefully get ParanoidAndroid 2.99 to boot, so you'll have to wait. Also Yasir is trying to build CM9 from scratch.

Is there any chance that cyanogenmod 10 will be ported to our device or HTC will release a official jellybean update??

Yes. We just need to wait for the Desire X to gain some recognition among the developers. And specification wise the Desire X is eligible for Jellybean update as per HTC's own statement which says devices released in 2012 and having RAM more than 512MB will be in the JB list.
Any idea when htc will release the update or somebody will port cyanogenmod 10? 1st quarter next yr?

like i said above we just need to wait a while before the desire x gains popularity. and htc will most likely release JB during 1st quarter 2013
Sorry but it seems no update for us

It seems we are left out. Please refer the following link below (It seems i can't post outbound links. I read about in phonearena.com). I think we shouldn't purchase mid range phones from HTC anymore.
I'm running the Sense Revolution R3 ROM on my Desire X right now, and am very happy with it. However, I was wondering, if a JB update is released for the DX, will I have to revert back to the stock ROM to update, or can the update be done simply be relocking and updating in this ROM itself, seeing as it is still running sense?

I don't think we can update ....some Rom will be released or flash with ruu and update ...btw I don't think they would release jellybean now..as they might be busy with m7 and sense 5 ..

There's a small glimmer of hope for 4.1 sense 4+ but even that is unofficial.
We should get sense 5 IMHO. A little frustration at HTC again.

It's official... For the five hundred and first time, all 2012 phones with 768MB of RAM get jellybean.

Yeah you say that, based on the press release but I remember the Desire HD was DEFINITELY getting ICS they even listed it specifically... never did.
Remember the GB update for the original desire, the scrapped it then released an appaling ROM on htc dev that had no internal memory or SD-EXT functionality..
I KNOW what the press release says, but you are dealing with a company that constantly renages on updates for its handsets.... I will believe it when I have the phone in my hand.
Also the previous post mentioned 4.2 and sense 5, that is HIGHLY doubtful. That is what I was commenting on as you can see in my brief post.
---------- Post added at 01:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:15 PM ----------
Also, 512 and less not getting it does not mean we are DEFINITELY going to get it. They aren't, we are still in the running. They are not equivalent statements.
Sent from my HTC Desire X using xda app-developers app
well I think they won't even give it a 4.1 sense...let's hope cm would do some roms.....I am not affected as its my secondary phone..haha...HTC is kind of Nokia for me..Samsung is the best..
Seeing as we didn't even get the full sense on ICS, I find it highly unlikely that we will get sense 5.

I'm hopeful we will. LlabTooFeR seems pretty reliable on these things. However, HTC aren't.
Just wanted to make it toally clear that saying 512 RAM is the cut off point is NOT the same as saying all other phones WILL get it. We have priority as a 2012 device for TESTING JB on the phone and then deciding to release it.
I'd guess, that we will get JB but with a horrible restricted Sense Lite and some of JB stripped out (notification expansion etc). It will be a poor compromise and we'll all be looking for ROMS pretty quick.
I hope I'm wrong, but all my dealings with HTC would suggest this to be the case. The Desire HD debacle was ridiculous and the contempt for the original Desire that was shown later on for their own flagship is concerning always. Fingers crossed though for something cool from HTC by June.
Is it possible that we will have a JB ROM soon though?
Sent from my HTC Desire X
No idea. I would imagine march at the earliest. Only a guess though. Testing, pilot roll out in Taiwan and Singapore, gradual worldwide release.
Nothing official yet, and they could always say no like they did with other models in the past.

Nope until HTC releases jellybean (sense) or we figure out wtf is with ICS trees... (AOSP)

Yep it's down to how many devs have the phone and how many want to support it.
It's a messy, difficult thing and there's not much on htc dev for them to to go on yet. We'll know by June I'd imagine.

have someone any news about the possibility to have an upgrade to JB for our DX ?
Only unofficial reports that we will, nothing concrete, no dates.

Exactly no official reports.
In Italy a friend of a blooger said that Jelly Bean will come for our device.
But we don't know if it is true or not.

Afaik they said 512 and less won't get it. That doesn't imply the rest will. It's a small difference in wording, but a big difference in meaning.

Jelly Bean fo DX
At this stage, there is no info or confirmation from HTC whether the Desire X will get it or not.
We can only hope that the correct decision will be made.
To the experts out there.......Has the Desire X enough credentials to upgrade to Jelly bean.
This is the answer and i am sure HTC will be doing tests on this before they commit.
ORA
thats from htc live chat. But im shure we will get it...And maybe this will be the last update idk why think that but..

Well. For me it is absolutely not sure HTC will prepare JB update for our DX. "HTC will work on it" means to me that they are not working on it at the moment. Why would they work on it later? They will have enough to do with programming for more popular devices.

HTC might not be as user supportive as they used to be, but dont base ur opinion on the fact about new phones keeping them busy.
The classic desire, released with 1.6 (eclair i think), got official donut 2.1, froyo 2.2 and 2.3(although not OTA). They were 4 major OS releases for the Desire. This is also for their desire range, and hasn't even received a single OS upgrade and If u ask me, i wont lose hope just yet. Anyways, enough talking JB. use whats available for now.
Regards
I will release a kernel for this phone next week and cm9 repo sync is 70% done. I am waiting for my plan to get renewed so that I get 5 times my original net speed.

I really doubt it. So far there isn't a working port of JB 4.1.1/Sense 4+ and doubt there will be anyone will to tackle Sense 5 for the Evo 3D.

Well, it is possible but I can't see that happening. If someone manages to port one s's jellybean rom there will be a possibility we see it on our phones since it has been confirmed sense 5 is coming to one s, too. Never lose hope
I've come back to HTC from Samsung GS3 which I had a lot of experience rooting/ flashing roms.
I have the One X Plus now. My question is can international One X roms be installed on the international One X Plus?
I won't assume/guess anything until I'm 100% sure so would appreciate any help with anyone with rooting/flashing knowledge of these phones.
Also, where is the best online resource for list of custom roms with user comments?
Many thanks

Thanks - I spoke to HTC about this and they advised that One X roms could be flashed on One X Plus - Goes to show that there is much more knowledge on here than within HTC.
That makes no sence as a lot of people flashing one x ROMs on to the one x + brick there phone or they don't work
Anyway if you do have luck flashing one x ROMs let us know

Hi,
I am new to this HTC world and even you can say, new to Android world. I purchased HTC One X+ in india recently (so I believe it is an unlocked version, not like AT&T, verizon etc). Yesterday I got an update to Android version 4.2.2, which I did. But now want to move back to 4.1.
Please bare with me and help me out to downgrade the same. Please be simple in using terms, as I am very less experienced in using Android (hardly couple of months).
plz plz plz.....
Thanks in Advance !

Erm, I know you are new and all, but you just
1) Restored a 5 month old thread.
2)Went offtopic to the original thread topic
3) Did not use search
Please read through this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470721 since this topic has already been talked about quite a few times.
