CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4 (KitKat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Installation:
1. Download ROM zip and GApps zip.
2. Boot into recovery.
3. Wipe data and cache.
4. Flash ROM zip.
5. Flash GApps zip. You must flash gapps after every upgrade to CM11 since /system is formatted, wiping your previous add-ons.
6. Reboot.

Test Failed. I keep getting the error that the my device (XU) isn't compatible with ROM. that "getprop" one. logcat attached in zip because of size limit.

How to build CyanogenMod 11 yourself
Here I'm going to explain you how can you build CyanogenMod 11 for your device in a few simple steps
Prerequisites
A Linux system with at least 4GB of RAM and 30GB of free disk space, Ubuntu 14.04 LTS is a recommended distribution. It is also possible to build Android in a virtual machine on unsupported systems such as Windows. If you are running Linux in a virtual machine, you need at least 16GB of RAM/swap in order to build the Android tree. Building under Mac OS is also possible but that process is not described in this guide.
A 64-bit environment.
A brain.
Setting up a Linux enviroment
Installing Java
First of all you need to install the Java Developer Kit, for CyanogenMod 11 we need Java 6 from Oracle.
So you need to get rid of any other Java version installed on your machine, also you need to add the repository from you will download Java, after that, you can install Java:
Code:
sudo apt-get purge openjdk-\* icedtea-\* icedtea6-\*
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/java
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install oracle-java6-installer
Installing required packages
We need some build tools in order to compile Android, such as GNU Make, Python, or Git:
Code:
sudo apt-get install git gnupg flex bison gperf build-essential zip curl libc6-dev libncurses5-dev:i386 x11proto-core-dev libx11-dev:i386 libreadline6-dev:i386 libgl1-mesa-glx:i386 libgl1-mesa-dev g++-multilib mingw32 tofrodos python-markdown libxml2-utils xsltproc zlib1g-dev:i386
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/mesa/libGL.so.1 /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libGL.so
Building CyanogenMod 11
To build CyanogenMod 11, firstly it is needed to download the sources, they weighs around 10GB. After the sources have been downloaded you can start building CyanogenMod 11. In CompileROM script you need to specify the device which you are building for; if you have a Xperia U use the option -ru, if you have a Xperia P use the option -rp, if you have a Xperia Go use the option -rg and if you have a Xperia Sola use the option -rs:
Code:
git clone https://github.com/XperiaSTE/android_scripts.git -b cm-11.0 cm-11.0
cd cm-11.0
repo init -u git://github.com/CyanogenMod/android.git -b cm-11.0
./Update.sh
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=out/host/linux-x86/lib
./CompileROM.sh [ -ru / -rp / -rg / -rs ]
./CompileRamdisk.sh [ -ru / -rp / -rg / -rs ]
rm out/target/product/*/*.zip
./CompileROM.sh -ru
If everything went fine you will find flashable zip in out/target/product/<codename of your device>/cm-11-kumquat-blablabla.zip
For following builds commands change a bit, because you have to clean precompiled stuff before building again:
Code:
make clean && make clobber
./Update.sh
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=out/host/linux-x86/lib
./CompileROM.sh [ -ru / -rp / -rg / -rs ]
./CompileRamdisk.sh [ -ru / -rp / -rg / -rs ]
rm out/target/product/*/*.zip
./CompileROM.sh -ru
Enjoy!
Tips
Time that takes building process depends on the power of your computer, but here you have some tips to speed up the process.
Enable ccache
You can optionally tell the build to use the ccache compilation tool. Ccache acts as a compiler cache that can be used to speed-up rebuilds. This works very well if you do "make clean" often, or if you frequently switch between different build products.
Put the following in your .bashrc or equivalent:
Code:
export USE_CCACHE=1
The suggested cache size is 50GB. You will need to run the following command once you have downloaded the source code:
Code:
prebuilts/misc/linux-x86/ccache/ccache -M 50G
Use a separate output directory
By default, the output of each build is stored in the out/ subdirectory of the matching source tree.
On some machines with multiple storage devices, builds are faster when storing the source files and the output on separate volumes, so if you have a SSD you definitely want that the output directory is in it. For additional performance, the output can be stored on a filesystem optimized for speed instead of crash robustness, since all files can be re-generated in case of filesystem corruption.
To set this up, export the OUT_DIR_COMMON_BASE variable to point to the location where your output directories will be stored:
Code:
export OUT_DIR_COMMON_BASE=<path-to-your-out-directory>
Buy more RAM
The RAM is usually the easiest component to change in a PC, and it is not very expensive, and having more RAM makes a difference in build time. So I recommend you to use so much RAM as your motherboard supports.
Questions?
Every command is written without su access and commands may vary in differents Linux distributions.

You can post a logcat when you pull down status bar with no notifications and in the same logcat try pull down status bar with notifications ?
Thanks
Do you prefer TWRP ?
I suggest if many users prefer TWRP instead of CWM we can change recovery.
So, do you want TWRP instead of CWM in our builds?
TWRP +1

Just wait bro'
Great work!
Just a few questions
1.WiFi doesn't remember password after reboot. This seems to happen every alternative boot. Any solutions?
2. When I force high end graphics, the swipe on the keyboard gives graphics glitch. is this being worked on?
3. Also I would like to contribute to development but I have no idea how or what to do. What are the things I should know before I can debug and/or build custom roms?

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4 (KitKat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
#include
/*
*/
6. Reboot.

Thank you very much!!!!!!!!!! Will try when downloaded...
Sounds interesting, hope it not have that bugs like freacks cm11 have. Will try tomorrow
my initial findings -
great, lean gapps - love the minimal approach - keep it up!
Rom is 4.4.3 - awesome!
running RAM on base install looks good - 217MB used, 176MB free
tested Sound Recorder app, when I change the file type to WAV format, and try to record, this message pops up - "Unfortunately, Sound Recorder has stopped." Then when I go to file manager, I see a lot of these WAV files created with 0 bytes. Maybe other testers can confirm this bug.
Edit:
changed build.prop line from "ro.config.low_ram=true" to "ro.config.low_ram=false" for transparent statusbar
Great build, will use this one for a while. Still testing, but I have found one bug. Internal memory formatting is not working in CWM and neater ROM itself. I haven't tested sd cards formatting.

Everythings fine...no problems until now...Also not by using with PA-GAPPS Full modular package for 4.3

Did you wipe data?
I did. I think it was a backup bug because 4.4.3. Had some apps they complained after the first start to be old and stopped. Deleted them, reloaded from the PlayStore and works properly since them.

About feedback:
We always welcome any kind of feedback, but if you report a bug, please, do it in a proper way, make a full detailed description about how to reproduce that bug, explain which add-ons you installed, tell us if you wiped cache and dalvik-cache or if you made a clean install, also, is very helpful to attach a logcat reproducing that bug, here you have a great guide about how to report a bug and take a logcat

F.A.Q.
1) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58478000&postcount=88
2) How to increase system memory?
Follow the instructions at this thread to create a swap file http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2359182
I have found the recommended configurations to be quite effective, Only one swap file of the recommended size i.e. about 188MB will fix many things.
3) How to switch between EXT4/F2FS ?
Newer build has F2FS enabled for /data and /cache partition. So you need to format those partition to F2FS first.
i) Make sure to backup everything, cause you'll be formatting your data partition.
ii) Reboot to recovery and goto Wipe => Advanced Wipe. Then wipe system, data, cache, dalvik-cache.
iii) Return to Wipe => Advanced Wipe again. Now select only data partition and click Repair or Change filesystem => Change Filesystem. Now select F2FS from the list and swipe to format data partition to F2FS.
iv) Similarly, format cache partition to F2FS too.
v) Now you're ready to flash the rom. Flash it normally and reboot.
vi) Using steps iii & iv, you can easily go back to EXT4 partition. But wiping is needed.
vii) All these steps are needed ONCE. After you formatted to F2FS, you don't need to do it again.
vii) Remember, to flash rom successfully your /data and /cache partition have to be in F2FS format.
Issues
1) If you don't get root access, change Root Access to Apps and ADB in Developer Options and then back to Apps only

Install Super SU http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053

1. There are a way lot of memory leaks in the rom (greater than 5.0.1 AOSX).
In file manager(not Cyanogen FM), for example, I've to go 'UP' instead of going 'BACK' because going back exits the file manager.
2. They keyboard isn't persistent (maybe because of memory leaks). Cannot even complete a single word until the keyboard goes off.
Also,
Found something strange -
I changed the value of ro.config.low_ram from true to false in build.prop and I experienced much smoothness in UI than when the value was true.
Plus, I got a lockscreen wallpaper because I've enable high-end graphics.

* Your warranty is now void.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

They are not answering for my inquiry for xperia go.
I have no words to say thanks to you. Also to inform that someone who know to remove bugs help this guy as he is alone doing for all of us.
Thank you

Zip installation stops on "Skipping md5...", what's wrong?
Reboots...
Great ROM, same problems as the XperiaSTE CM11.0, though. (BT not working, camera problems)
I'm also getting a random soft reboot every 5 mins or so, no idea why, so I'm reverting to KK until the next build. :crying:
