i wanted to ask, what's the max size microsd card that the european htc hero can take?
i have seen on differnet sites from 8GB up to 32GB.

majority of people use the 8gb class 2 or higher, same with 16gb, but very few use 32gb... that's if you can get a hold of one.

It isnt ram, its storage. All you 'gain' is more room to store apps, music, movies etc. The tablet as almost all honeycomb tablets come with 1 gig of ram. If you see yourself packing the tablets with movies/photos etc then yes the 32 gig one is worth it.
At $100 for a 16gb increase it is far less expensive to just add a $20 16gb microSD card to expand to 32gb from a 16gb model.

Probably is til Sony patches it (and i hope they do) the sd slot is basically just a file transfer/media storage rather then true storage.
And keep in mind that the 16GB version only offer 8.9GB of storage !

with the correct 3rd party apps on the market you can use an sd card as true storage!!i got a 32gb sd card full of movies working with mx video player pro which you need for divx/xvid/avi movies anyway!! Got the card for £29.99 and its a class 10!

Well you can use File manager HD to look for and open files, or say if you have movies use MX Video Player. On both apps the sd card shows as sdcard2
Pretty much every single 3rd party none sony/asus/google/htc apps can play/view file directly from the SD card.
Only thing you need to know is that your SD card is located at:
/mnt/SDCard2/

hi - could someone please explain the storage setup?
I swapped my 16GB Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 for a 16GB Sony and as mentioned previously, it only shows 8.92GB internal storage (USB) plus 3.94GB internal storage so that's approx 3GB for the OS and sample files!
I assume this is just the way Sony split up the 16GB?
On the Samsung it showed approx 15GB from new

The storage is splitted between storage for application installation and data such as files, videos, photos, etc..
Roms for the Nook Tablet 8gb with 1gb ram?
ok i guess im new here, i decided to pick up one of these nook tablets 8gb 1gb of ram, mostly to root rom and what not... i see that CyMod 10 is out on nightly and that was my plan... but i see that it may only support the nook tablet with 8gb of ram and 512 of memory... welp the tablet is on the way... i just hope i can find a rom that will support it.. i hope the 8gb ram and 1gb memory ones are not orphan... meaning there is no on going roms and kernals and stuff for them...
i already have a rooted tf101
and a rooted Minix x5 android tv box so im not completely clueless... but i just did not research the nook tablet with 8gb 1gb ram well enough to know for shure.

I wasn't even aware there existed an 8GB with 1GB RAM. Are you sure that's what you have? If it's indeed has 1 GB RAM it should be a 16 GB model. CHeck your model no again. BN250 is the 16GB and BN250A is the 8GB.

I re-read the back it has the 250-A on it but under them model is without the -A so 250!

well, seems the advert was in error... i decided to hunt a bit and see if i could find a 16gb for around the same price... it was 10 bucks more but heck... i wanted 1 gb of ram and i just wanted something to wait out the release of the new nexus 7... and i wanted to have something that had a dev community behind it.... so.. no sale 1saleaday.... i got my money back...they did not even argue!!! just refund... i cannot stand it when some online store gets the specs wrong on a device... i will never use them again... looking forward to the new old tablet though... and all the rooting and romming stuff..

Amazon and newegg only have the 8gb model.
Curious if the 16gb is a delayed launch for some reason.

16GB is available from Asia but not in Europe unless you buy from Hong Kong sellers. Not sure if they ever will be available here in the UK. You may use Foldermount to solve the shortage in internal memory.

Yes, Negri Electronics, back order now, but I bought one on 7/4. Shipped 7/5 from China, arrived in Texas Monday am FED X. I changed language, then all good, great device.
I haven't seen any from a trusted seller, but honestly why do you want a 16gb when you can just put a 32 or 64gb card into the 8gb?
I just picked an 8gb mega 6.3 for 447 on amazon. The price was good and ill just put my 64gb card in it.
Use foldermount to mount the android folder to the external sd and you can use the full capacity of your external SD as internal storage if you want.

Which is about 5gb after the OS.
Try installing 2-3 gameloft games and you would have no space left at all.

No the data goes on the internal SD.
Very few games have the option to move it to the external... Bards tale is one of the few I can think of that does.

Well I don't really play Gameloft games so I'm no expert.
That's pretty weird...
I have the following apps that cannot be moved to the SD so I use Foldermount:
Wiki Encyclopedia Offline: 3.6GB
Need for Speed Most Wanted: 2.2GB
Final Fantasy 4: 439MB
Copilot: 357MB
Minion Rush: 356MB
I have many others but they are under 100MB each so I don't move them with Foldermount.
I have since been contacted by xiaomi and they have confirmed that it can take a 512 gig card...
For me 128GB are already too much, what do you want with so much Storage? And btw. found 1TB SD-Cards on Ebay..
I have a lot of music... That's all...

Get a V30 rated card. Stick to name brand ones only. About $75 for a .5tb
It's really not that big
Managed to get a SanDisk Ultra 512GB for a good price...and it's going well....slowly filling it up...
