[Q] Screen recording without root? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm looking for an easy way to record my Android's screen without rooting my phone. This will be on my work phone, so I'm not allowed to root it.
I recently found TeamViewer QuickSupport which lets you control an Android phone remotely (see its display and use your keyboard and mouse to interact with it). The way I'm currently recording the screen is by using TeamViewer on my computer to control the phone, and then using a screen capture program on my computer to record the screen.
Surely someone's made an app that uses the same API that TeamViewer uses to retrieve the screen? I mean, TeamViewer is recording it and sending it over wifi with no trouble, so why do actual screen recording apps require root?
Any advice? Does anyone know of any apps that do this?
Thanks!

[Q]Video Screen Recorder

Hi, I want to ask if there is a application that allow your to record your phone screen. For example Fraps for PCs. Well I need it for YouTube to upload my phone guides.
Thanks in advance.
There's an app called ShootMe that allows you to record the actions of the screen, however it's 10fps max and your phone must be rooted.
I'm also looking for a way to achieve this without having to root my phone, and achieve an exact duplicate of the information that appears on screen. I would like to be able to do this on the phone without having to connect it to the computer.
Another method is using droid VNC Beta and having VNC viewer installed on your computer. The demonstration I saw looked laggy, so what more if you used another screen recording program on the computer to capture the window (displaying the screen of your phone). I tried to set this up and couldn't get it to work. I believe the phone has to be rooted for that aswell.
Anyone else have any suggestions or ideas?
Cheers
Get an MHL adapter, and connect it to something that can record HDMI input.
Probably not the best solution, and it is quite expensive if you don't have the equipment, but it should work (haven't tried it).
Thanks for the suggestion. Was really looking for a way that doesn't require a physical connection. Like if there was a suitable app for doing the job, just as you would record a video using the camera, an app that basically records whatever is on the screen. Well, there is one, but 10fps isn't enough and the phone needs to be rooted.

[Q] Alternative to MyMobiler

Hello everybody!
I've used the MyMobiler for remote access to the phone, but I can no longer in the Atrix.
There is another app that does the same work, the PC control the android, like TeamViewer for example.
Do not say like AirDroid, say one that has screen capture.
Thanks!

[Q] Is it possible to screen-record my own app to video in Android?

I would like to know if there is any easy way to record the activities and views on my Android app to a video without root access. To be a bit more specific, I am looking for a screen-recording solution so that I can get a video of the user's interaction with the app interface. Connecting the phone to any device such as a computer to do the recording is not an option.
Here is a sample gif that I created using a Mac screen recorder to record the iOS simulator interface. It gives a rough idea of what I would like to achieve on Android, except for the fact that I would like the same to be from the actual phone (not the emulator) and without having to connect the phone to a computer or any other device.

Click to collapse
this works fine,
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.org.invisibility.recordablefree
but you have to connect it to pc ONLY first time, after that no need for PC, and does not require root
Thanks @arana1, but I really need to avoid even that first time connection to the PC.

Miracast (WiFi screen casting) RECEIVER app for Android

Hi,
I have a Galaxy S7 which comes with the "Smart View" app in Android 8.0, which makes it easy to screen cast the phone to another Miracast device (e.g. TV or PC). Is there any way to do the reverse, i.e. using the phone as a Miracast host to display the screen of, say, another phone or PC? In particular, I want to use the Wireless Display feature in Windows 10 to have the phone as an external PC display. Windows can do both (cast to a device and host/display a cast from a device) but Smart View can only cast, not host. I don't want to use a media streaming app over the local network or god forbid a remote desktop solution routing everything through the internet. I want to use specifically Miracast because it's fast, convenient, built-in to many devices and most importantly uses direct peer-to-peer WiFi instead of going through the rest of the network, thus it's perfect for short-distance casting, which is exactly my use case. Unfortunately, I can't find any app that allows the phone to receive Miracast streams. Can anyone help?

capture mobile display as a "live video file"

I want to capture the display of my motorola e running lineage os 8.1 as a "continuously updating video file" so when I connect it to my non-smart tv with usb cable and open that video file it will act like a makeshift screen cast. I have already set up SCRCPY but I cannot find any method to achieve this. Please tell me if this is actually possible? Is it possible with scrcpy? I am ready to install any external software on my mobile so all suggestions are welcome!.
I also have root access(latest magisk)
also, is there any way i can save the scrcpy recording on my mobile instead of my laptop?
