NDrive on external SD card? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys!
I'd like to ask a question... I recently got a Samsung SIII, which I have rooted already and installed S4 Glance ROM, which takes quite a bit of the internal SD card, so I decided to buy an external SD, just to find out thar it's rather difficult transfer the Apps over there!....
One of my Apps is Ndrive and I have 2 maps installed, which take together about 500Mb.. So, my question is: Since I have purchased the External SD card, is there any way of putting the maps in that card and make Ndrive to find it?..
If You can help, I really appreciate!!

Ask in the NDrive support/ forum . Many map apps do not allow transfer .

How do I actually use my micro SD card?

Okay, first of all, I have done a lot of search on this topic over various forums and google. Some topic pops up occasionally, but never got answered, strange...
Basically I am trying to figure out two things:
1. How to move apps to microSD card? Not a single definitive answer or tutorial would allow me to move apps to external SD card. I've tried app2sd, link2sd also the stock CM7 application manager, which all of them would only allow to move apps to internal storage of the phone which is called SD card for Galaxy SII. Also the microsd card is under the diretory of mnt/emmc. Some other tutorials suggesting moving game data over /sdcard/external_sd/, I tried as well, but my microSD's storage doens't go down so I assume the data is still on internal SD card.
2. How to enable apps to save user data automatically on micro sd card? For example, I have lots of camera apps, which automatically save photos that I took on /sdcard/DCIM, I want them to be on my micro SD card AUTOMATICALLY, is there a way of doing this?
Many thanks, oh btw, I am using cyanogenmod 7 on Galaxy SII
I cannot see much reason to move apps to external sd card with a sgs2, that is something for inferior phones , there is a lot of space on application storage and internal sd card for that.
Most people are fine by just moving media files to the external card.

how about my second question, i shot a lot of photos and hd videos daily, i know i can manully move them to external, but that Kinda make my gallery look clustered if you know what i mean.
Have you tried doin it internally via your phone:settings-applications-running services. On the top left touch on "downloaded" and all your downloaded apps will appear.Touch on whatever app you like and you will get the option to move, uninstall or clear data.Remember that not all downloaded apps are able to be moved to external sd and if the app you would like to move is unmovable by default then you will see that.
The problem is Android only likes one sd card. So when you have an internal SD card like the sg2 the system doesn't take advantage of your external sd card.

You can change storage area in camera settings (with stock camera app).

No app to SD card?

hi i just got a samsung galaxy s3, but there is no app 2 sd card function like on the galaxy s2. Can Someone help me out here, i have even tried app to sd apps but those don't seem to work either.
it has been already answered, learn to use the search button, it will be useful for you to solve your queries soon
and the answer is sgs3 uses whole internal sd for apps(11gb) so there is no need for app to sd
i thought it was possible to move apps to the external sd card because i remember doing that on the s2...i just came from and iphone...so bare with me...sorry about the search i thought it was a limitation of the s3 not android.

no worries learn soon
It is a limitation of S3, not Android. I read the OneX has that functionality.
bala_gamer, with all due respect the 16GB internal sd is not enough.
I managed to fill it the second day. I have many games and i use (used, not anymore unfortunately) Google Play Music, which is supposed to store offline music on the external sd, but couldn't do so on my S3.
Users MUST be given the option to move to sd as they were previously able to.
This is just a Samsung blunder.
One X has not SD card slot -> it can't have app2SD
Samsung could include it but for whatever reason they won't and just blame Google, so what I think is Samsung either leaves it out so they can start making more phones with different memory sizes and make more money from the sales, or they don't like the way Google has changed the file system to allow better ExFat support and Samsung left it out to highlight the problem and get customers on their side to get Google to change.

[Q] Memory and app storage

Probably a dumb question to most here, but as Ive never used android before and searching google didnt give me a clear answer:
1. Can I store apps/games on the sd card?
2. Does the phone need to be rooted or what not or can I do this out of the box?
3. Will pictures lag greatly if stored on micro sd (loading and capturing)?
Wondering, because im contemplating the 16gb or waiting for 32gb. 16GB will be fine if i can just store everything to the memory card..On my current phone im already using 16GB of available storage for apps/games, so i really need at least 32 or more.
see:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1692956
so theres no way to save everything to the sd storage?
so whats the point? pictures and music only?

Foldermount S3 Help

Hi all,
I recently rooted my S3 GT-i9300 for the 1st time. I downloaded rootchecker and it has been successful. I recently installed a sandisk micro sd 64gb card into my phone and am looking at storing most of my applications their.
I purchased foldermount with the intentions of doing that but have had no luck with the program. I bought premium version (but don't know how the check that its actually the pro one, because it still has the purchase pro option? However, my card has been drawn from.)
I have installed a few apps on my phone from the play store and watched several youtube tutorials, but I don't have the same directories as they do on their phones.
I am now looking to move these apps to my external micro sd. I make a name under name.
I then try and find the source app files, but cannot seem to locate them anywhere???
Where do I find the application files, so that I can move them to my external micro sd?
Sorry if this sounds stupid, I'm only new to this.
Link2sd? Search for it. Either on Playstoore or XDA.
Edit: Sorry it's Link2sd.

[Q] Can someone please help me ?

Hello guys,
I'm absolutely furios right now... just bought a new SD card and guess what? Insufficient storage available.... I read like 50 articles, tried many ''solutions'' and nothing helped... I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace 5830i. If anyone can help me I'm even willing to pay. Just want to play games
Firstly, you have to check if the sdcard is fake:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=730285
You could buy a 64 GB card and have the same message. The message is about the internal storage, not the SD card storage. Most apps and app data do not automatically save to the SD card (for a variety of reasons). This is not an issue with the phone (other than the fact that it's a budget phone and all the downsides that entails), as it's only made to do so much. If you are rooted, there are some options, possibly, such as Links2SD, swapping the mounting points to switch the internal and external storages, or something like one of the CronMod solutions. If you aren't rooted or don't want to, then your options are severely limited to basically moving some of the apps to SD, if supported, but it's not a great solution as it does not move much of the data over and doesn't support all apps, meaning don't put keyboards, live wallpapers, home launchers, or widgets on the SD card.
Hi, i had the same problem with the same phone and as es0tericcha0s say root is the solution, then you can do what you want you will see. if you have question you can ask me.
