Hi,
i have 8gb of system data on my internal 16gb sd card. That is really a problem now.
Im sure a full factory reset ect. would fix that, but i can´t do that right now.
Any way i can fix that with a running system?
thx

how do i switch the interal sd card(emmc) to external sd card(sdcard) back to normal? currently its ext sdcard(emmc) and internal(sd card)...i believe thats the reason why my external files arent visible on my phone because my phones external sd card is emmc (took out my microsd and in cwm said cant mount emmc) and my internal sd is sd card aka ext sd. if that makes sense... is that better that way with the vibrant? is it rom related? i do know its been like that since i switched to miui. im running docs ics v12 now. is there a way to create a path to the ext card(mounted as emmc) on the sd card root path? so if my internal sd is set to be extsd it thinks its its saving on the extsd but isnt so it wont have a external sd path? and my external is set to be internal so i cant save anything on it with my phone though i wonder if when i flash a rom those files are saved to my ext.. so if i were to format my emmc (extsd) would that mess my phone. f-it im about to try it now lol.. formated, done, reboot... well i dont think it hurt anything and i know my extsd is completly wiped now but im still stuck with the problem on not being able to transer anything from my internal sd to extsd because there is no path for it in the file browser, i dont really want to go through the trouble of backing up my internal sd card, formatting that hoping it doest brick my phone like ive read b4, putting what files i want back on it, just to be stuck with same problem an hour later. seems like there are many post on this but ive yet to find an easy solution. i know someone has had to of come up with a fix for this... thanks
I'm running with internal sdcard only, but used to use external. Cyanogenmod handles both fine. I tried AOKP build 35 and had no sdcard, and tricks I tried with symlinks or mount -bind had no effect. So one fix is to find a good rom. There may be other ways around it.
I flashed aokp build 36 a few days ago and my internal and SD was switched too. I found this file posted by Mr. Physco and flashed my memory back to normal. I'll try to find link and repost

so does anyone know of a good ics ROM that supports both sd cards? Last ROM I used that supported both sd cards I think was bionix v. I guess it's really not that big of deal since I can stream my music with google music, but I would like to use the empty 16GB memory card I have in my phone for game data or movies. So Akop build 36 has a fix for that? I'll have to check it out, thanks

Try CM9. That one supported both my SD's (Galaxy Player 5.0). But, beware of directory changes. The external SD is now under "mnnt/emmc/".
I bought a 64GB SD card, then I partitioned it on Linux, in to 1 63.5GB partition and 1 .5Gb swap partition. I can mount these without issue on Linux, now I insert said card into the phone, the phone knows the SD was inserted or removed, but that's it, I can not format in Recovery (fails), can not Prepare in in CM10 (fails), so m=basically I now have a very nice 64GB SD card that does not work. Now what I want is to format it (ext4 is preferred as i know the kernel has ext4 support, but any FS would work, so long as the card is found), current it is not found whether or not the first partition is formatted, when placed into the phone.
Any suggestions?

Merge the partitions and reformat into fat32. See how that goes

Sadly Windows will not even left me delete and repartition it, so I had to do so on Linux.
Then inserted the now blank card into windows and formatted, that worked fine, copied 20gb to it without issue (of junk). Installed in phone was told SD card is broken (note this is a exFat). Removed from phone, windows could not read it at all any longer.
Again removed all partitions, formatted as Fat32 (Linux) and inserted into the phone, said invalid sd card. rebooted into recovery to format, says there is no external sd card present. Again Windows finds it.
This is a 64GB SCAN Disk Class 10 micro SD (black Friday $38 deal from Amazon), not felling like much of a deal any longer.
I had researched and saw many people had 64Gb micro SD cards, so did I just get a SD card, since it is not likely to be a kernel issue if both the OS and recovery can not read it.
Thanks,
ERIC

I had the same problem. From stock went to CM10, exFat got corrupted and then went back to Stock still external storage card showed as damaged.
I took the SD card out and put in adapter and then connected to PC. Then from command prompt ran chkdsk <Drive_Letter:> /f and it fixed the errors without me copying the files to PC.
Hope this helps. (Quote)

I flashed newts xxx rom and it formatted the internal sd any way to recover my pictures and videos ?
thanks
One thing thats funny is that the internal sd is 16 gigs and i check it and its 11.23 so im not sure if the files just went somewhere else but are in there somewhere and im pretty sure that if it did get formatted it would go back to 16 gigs
Strange, it formatted /mnt/sdcard? I'm currently running the same ROM, and it didn't format the internal SD on mine.

Some of the internal SD card is partitioned for the system to use, so the user can't get the full 16 gb.

My suggestion is to make sure you use the external SD so when you wipe before flashing a ROM you can always take it out to be safe.

Yes just wiped it clean but I was reading an article and it mentioned that its a slim chance that s on users can wipe there internal sd when flashing the boot.img and I didnt have an issue until i flashed another rom so that might have been it.
Only prevention is to backup or move to the sd card

Also, use something like DropBox or SugarSync so that when you take a pic it automatically uploads right afterwards. I have mine set to then download to my laptop. Within 2 minutes the pic I took with my phone was in the cloud and on my laptop using DropBox.

Well you.
Hello. I am really not sure if this is the right place to post my query. I am sorry if its not.
I recently downloaded PikaOS2 ROM for my CHD A116i. Everything seems to be working fine for 2 days. I am really loving the rom. Last night I downloaded NBA 2k14 from a torrent. It is about 600mb file. To my surprise there was just an apk file of that size rather then apk plus data which I was expecting. I tried to install the apk but I always get an error saying not enough space. My default write disk is external SD card which has a space of around 5 GB available and my phone storage has a capacity of 0.98 GB out of which 286mb is available. I have no idea why its trying to install the game on my phone storage even though I have selected external SD card as my primary write disk.
I was also wondering why is there another slot of internal SD card which has around 1.76gb space and not even a single mb is being saved there. From what I can see is that this 1.76gb of space is going waste as I have never seen anything being written or saved on this internal SD card.
Anyways, can someone please help me installing the game.
I tried posting this on the official PikaOS2 thread, but it won't let me post there.
Thank you in advance

Some space is also occupied by phone (not internal memory)
Go to settings- apps -downloaded
See the space there
Delete/uninstall few apps n then try
I somehow managed to get around 550mb available after deleting some rarely used apps. Can i delete some of the google apps which r useless. Also i dont unterstand why the app is trying to install in phone memory when i have selected tge default location as external sd card

So i am having the same problem with updating the apps and installing new ones which aren't that big. Now I read at several places that, swapping internal memory with external, theoretically should give us enough space to install and run all the apps. I followed the instructions and did it successfully. However, the real issue is still there. The thing is with Canvas HD, there is an additional partition created by the name of Phone Storage. After doing the swapping process, I realized that Phone Storage is still the same. Swapping only affected the internal memory and external memory.
My question here is, Is there a way i can make the Phone storage partition to increase (from vold.fstab, maybe)? If not then, i guess i'm stuck with this low memory since i have deleted all the useless app and cant delete anymore?
Try to use data extension of internal memory becoz m using it now
Now my internal storage is 2.25gb so u too try

I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4. 16GB internal and 64GB sdcard. My sdcard only has 28GB memory left and that apparently is not enough to backup the internal memory. Anyway I want Titanium Backup to only backup to Google Drive only. I don't want a backup on my sdcard because it takes up too much space

Titanium makes the backup to the sdcard first and then sends a copy to Google drive. Since theres not enough room on the sdcard it can't copy anything to Google Drive.
