[Q] Bluetooth Tethering - Galaxy Ace S5830i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This is my second post, put the first in wrong area. so Hi everyone.
I want to use Bluetooth Tethering on my phone to use with a TomTom SatNav/GPS. I can get the two device paired no problem, but need tethering for a feature on the TomTom SatNav/GPS.
Is there any way of getting this with software or Apps, or its not possible on this model phone.
thanks

Found some info at TomTom and it appears that neither my TT device or phone are suitable for connecting to "Traffic".
thanks again.

[Please Help] Bluetooth Funtion --> It can pair but unable to be connected

Dear all,
I'm a new member here also It's my first experience using an android phone.
Lets get into my problem.
It's related with my hero's bluetooth function. I have tried to pair and connect with many phone starting with BB Bold, Nokia e51, Samsung star. The problem is same that my phone can be paired with those phone but it was failed to connect with them.
Please help me for the hero's lovers here, what must I do / any suggestion?
My phone information:
Firmware Vers.: 1.5
Software Vers: 1.0.0.A6288
Sorry to inform you that the Bluetooth function on the Hero is only for connecting to a headset, at this present time you cannot pair, send or receive files with out and app from the market. Even then to receive you have to be rooted and then the apps don't actually work on the Hero perfectly as of yet. HTC may fix this but I don't think it will be very high on the priority list of to do's!
Ohh mine.. It's too bad to know the fact. I think it will be almost completed features if HTC develops more this feature.
@seanyowl --> many thanks for your information.
I would like to confirm my understanding based on your explanation as following:
1. For now, the function of blue-tooth in HTC can not for pair or even receiving file. It just for connecting to a headset, not with other phones. Is it right?
2. If i want to receive or send files through this feature, I should have an apps which supports this function, is that right? So what is the name of apps?
3. What is the meaning of this statement "Even then to receive you have to be rooted"?
I'm sorry asking this question since it's my first time using android phone and smartphone. It's a big jump for me from my old phone (siemens ME 45)
Many thanks for help and support for me in this thread.

How to accept automatically call

Hello all,
I researched and tested for now 1 week but nothing works.
So can anyone who have done to accept call automatically explain me how his has success ?
Thanks for all.
After PS : I think we must use ITelephony.aidl, create a broadcast receiver and send a keydown by bluetooth however like I said it doesn't work with me.

Bluetooth and ICS

Hello,
I have ICS beta 2 lite installed (Android Version 4.0.1 Baseband S5830DDKQ5 Kernel 2.6.35.7-perf-CL514579 ketut )
But although the phone says its paired with bluetooth devices it wont connect
Is there a fix or do I need to go back the Ginger Bread?
Thanks in advance.
(I have tried 'search' but I'm not finding any answers)

First of all, it's NOT ICS ...it's gingerbread
It's based on 2.3.5 (developer has just changed it to 4.0.1)
Second,
Bluetooth works fine for me

Please accept my apologies. I was relaying the info from the handset.
I'd be grateful if you would tell me what settings/options you have 'on' and 'off' so that bluetooth pairs, connects and works with bluetooth devices such as headset, sat nav etc
Thanks again.
Bluetooth ICS reconnecting Audio
I'm having a similar problem.
When I connect to my car stereo via bluetooth the first time (since a reboot) and it will play. However whenever my phone reconnects after that, it will pair and I can use the A2DP interface on my car deck to play/pause/etc but the audio will play on my phone speaker and not transfer to the car stereos like usually. Once rebooted, everything will work the first time again.
I've never had this problem before. I am looking into it right now and will let you know when I figure something out .
guys wait for final version...
the developer of Myth ics has removed the previous rom since it had bugs..
so there is no point in complaing
he is trying his best for making new rom free of bugs
wait for it
I'm not complaing. I'm asking for help. I asked you what settings you have chosen regarding bluetooth which so far you have ignored for whatever reasons.
Instead of being helpful your replies have been obtuse and obnoxious. Loose the attitude geek-boy.
People are asking for help NOT criticising.

[Q] Why a USB connection disconnects Bluetooth?

Sorry if it is a stupid question, but I am completely new to S2/android and can't find an answer anywhere.
Is there any reason why placing the phone onto the craddle (which is connected to my PC via USB) comes up and ask me to disconnect Bluetooth? Why is it not possible to use both USB or bluetooth at the same time?
All my previous phones could do that but they were all HTC and all Windows Mobile phones. So I am not sure whether it is an issue with Samsung or Android or I just haven't configured it correctly.
I normally have the phone in the craddle while working (so it charges and can transfer files to and from) and use the bluetooth handset to answer or make calls. It is pretty annoying to not be able to do that anymore.
Thanks.
From what I can tell it's a thing with the Samsung bloatware they put on the phone, as I just tested it with my phone and I can have bluetooth, wifi and usb all connected at the same time. Perhaps try flashing a new Rom?
Actually I have just found out that if I go ahead and disconnect bluetooth and get the connection through USB running, I can then re-enable Bluetooth and they both keep working.
THis is a completely stock S2, so it would be nice if it was possible to change this irritating behaviour.

You've already been given your answer, flash a custom ROM that's deleted and the bloatware, and please don't become one of those newbies that doesn't read the responses in the very thread they started
Yes I have read "TehH4rRy"'s answer. My apology for not thanking him for that.
I was hoping for a solution that does not involve flashing and rooting since i have much better things to do with my time, and I was hoping this was just about me not knowing some perhaps hidden options to turn this behaviour off.
As far as I know this is the generic "Q&A" section, so you can't assume that everybody that posts a question here is looking to flash their S2 to death.
I posted my finding so that if somebody else had the same problem and is not willing to flash their phone, they would know that there is a work-around, and perhaps some other kindly helping users have even better work-arounds.
Your answer on the other hand I am not sure what it adds to the thread... but thanks anyway.
If you enable USB debugging, the phone will not disconnect the Bluetooth.

Hi There,
As far as I know the Archos 3G Stick is lacking voice capability at an hardware level so that is a no go, It theoretically possible using a Patched Huawei Dongle, I got it to successfully connect a silent call when I was playing around with it, It could be just a case of wiring up the audio policies in Android or something vastly more complex, I didn't bother investigating further. You also need to patch your framework-res.apk to make the rom voice_capable, you can also make it sms_capable as well, this allows you to use the stock mms app for sending and receiving messages
You might want to do a search before posting, because this question has been asked before and there's a couple of development threads regarding it, One is linked from my signature.
Thanks

Correct. Sim cards do not have the phone radio in them. Its the device itself. Therefore, other than using voip phone apps there is no way to make voice call on the tablets, besides my galaxy note.
