Im using xperia u and trying to unlock its bootloader...phone is not carrier locked and i can use any sim card...but in services info it says bootloader and rooting no...i cannt enter into fastboot mode but can use any sim card...i tried s1 tool and it says not supported...is there is any way to unlock mine bootloader..? :/
I'm in the same boat as you (altough I have a Sola) and I did a lot of research, but it seems that its currently impossible to unlock your bootloader.

As far as I know there aren't any possibilities to unlock the bootloader if the service menu says it is not possible. The 2011 Xperias could be unlocked by using testpoints, but thats not a viable option with the NXT series either.
Believe me I am very dissapointed by this too, and I'll stay well away from Sony devices in the future. The hardware is nice, but Sony just doesn't give a dam about updating the phones or helping the developer community which could support them.

Hi all,
I've got my Xperia S which was locked to Three UK however they've just given me the unlock code therefore it's now running on Orange UK.
Just a quick question, if I was to unlock the bootloader, root, then re-lock the bootloader...would that work? Or would I loose my root access?
Thank you,
Matt

Not 100% sure but I think I read somewhere that network locked handsets can't be bootloader unlocked, just can't find it now. If you type *#*#service#*#* you can check if unlockable in one of the menus

Yeah after having a look, i've found the bootloader can't be unlocked which is a massive shame. Reckon there will be a way round it in the future? I'd love to root my Xperia

It usually takes a while till everyone start working on a new device as this is brand new and still not available everywhere and keeping the high price in mind.
Acr had the very same problem and Blagus found a way and I am sure he is working on it as we speak to unlock the bootloader on all devices (locked to carrier) and hopefully there will be root available for devices with locked bootloader soon.
All you need is patience.
Goood Luck.

I have no idea (as I have not needed this), but my best guess would be that those people may not have installed the correct driver that comes with flashtool.
Seems tha mobile phone is a branded phone..... its a paid method yhu gonna use, check wotanserver client maybe yhu can get something there!
###Check dis video out buddy, it might help.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sn-Vubgka1M

then you have to use paid method, because fastboot is disabled. There is no other way to enable fastboot at the moment.
Yes, I have "Unlock allowed: NO" and ran many times S1TOOL without success because i made a very bad choice to buy a mobile from VODAFONE (the worst company, in my opinion)
So, the only way to enable boot loader as far as I know is by UNLOCK in a shop. One of my friend did this to a sk17i of YOIGO and did the trick well. He can now enjoy the miniICS which run amaizing.
Im thinking to do the same. SONY and VODAFONE deceive me. (and its not the first time)
I dont think by software like Wotan you could do. (
Hi!
I haven't seen a way to change the status from "bootloader unlock allowed: NO" to YES, but in a forum I read that some guys managed to reach an agreement with sony. If we send the simlock unlock codes they will allow the bootloader unlock.
Here's the OT

http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=es&tl=en&u=http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?p=4855261
I'll send a mail to see if it really works (I have the sim unlock code).
Do you know something about this?

After reading a bunch of Googlish I don't think they got any response yet. I don't think emailing Sony will get your bootloader unlocked but you never know.

The chances are very small, but looks like they are going to unlock it:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/40526
Looks like the only requirement now is that you have to bring the device to a sony service center
We are dealing with Sony to get our handsets fully unlocked, but what i am most afraid of is if employees will be aware of this. I hope so!
We will keep you guys updated!

Seems like it's only for Spain
kindly add a question mark to your title, for obvious reasons. thanks
you can make the bootloader unlock allowed: yes by ezSEMC tool. I made it yesterday unlocking my acro HD for 45$. the phone became fully unlocked and bootloader changed to rootable, after that i've unlocked bootloader by official method.

I've heard rumours the s1 server is offline for good aswell. Missed it by about two days. Gutted. I've been checking daily for about 3 weeks.
Can't believe I had so much fun with my x10 and cm roms, but now I'm forced to stop.

I still find hard to believe no one can "break this code"...
I would certainly donate to some Dev to crack this problem for good. If it can be done by CSCA Server than is just some service mode and software changes.
That or find some loophole to flash kernels into the phone, security blocks for that are so hard or complex that no one can break them ?!
PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I tried to use the testping unlock service from wotanserver. However, the phone cannot be recognized by their client software by windows after I connected the TP and ground pin using a pin. And the phone cannot boot up. It is dead IMO. Is there a way I can rescure this phone? Any input is highly appreciated.
after you using wotanserver to unlock bootloader??

What Is your phone production date? Is later, than 12w14?
I think by testpoint method (or any other method) that phones 12w14 and newer are not supported.
wow maybe u broke your phone
It may also broke your warranty...
Found this across several forums:
We have now reports on newely produced QC8255(T)-based phones (starting from 12W14) are unable to connect using Testpoint.
With 4SE v1.8.2 is not possible to unlock/repair such phones.
For now we have reports of LT15, LT18, ST18, MT11, WT19 (EROM: 1241-3656 R9B031) with the problem.

Does that mean Qualcomm ran out of QC8255's chipsets and is selling QC8255(T)'s for Sony's Xperia Ray?

It is new to me. I have to check.
I managed to bring the phone back. But I feel testpoint method is kind of risky. Who knows what may happen if you touch wrong pins by mistake. And I believe I may have happend to me.

The production date is under the battery, near SI code. Search for 11wXX or 12wXX. (It means 2011 week XX or 2012 week XX) I know, that if production date is newer than 12w14, then you can't make it simlock free, and you can't open bootloader by wotan/etc. (Maybe when you buy a simlock remove code from your carrier)
If the production date is newer than 12w14 and in sevice menu you find: bootloader unlock allowed: no, then it's impossible to unlock the bootloader. If you see yes (and its newer than 12w14), then you can only unlock in sony homepage.
I unlocked my bootloader for a month ago (my ray is 11w34), and i read a lot of sites...

I can call myself lucky then that i got a second ray before they switched to those new chips.
Whatever my Ray has an unlockable bootloader or not, I won't touch it again. My Xperia X8 is now a pretty paperweight lol
Is there a way to unlock the bootloader a xperia live walkman wt19a with this message
Bootloader status allowed: No

Yes, lots of threads have been made on this topic...You can use wotanserver, omnius or just break your simlock in many local shops then unlock it.
Hope I helped..

Just getting rid of simlock will not help. Fastboot still needs to be enabled, can only be done via paid testpoint method.

Yes, they can be unlocked. Actually it is the only way to remove SIM-lock (and unlock bootloader at the same time), if I am not mistaken.
