I don't have Wi-fi in my vehicle or at home, so this is a little annoying. On Sprint, to turn it off, go to the Sprint Connection Optimizer (Settings>Mobile Connections>Automatic Connections.)

I've searched and can not find a solution.
I have repeated and verified this many times:
Turn off WiFi, turn off phone, power up phone, no cellular signal Toggle flight mode does not help. Turn on WiFi does not help. Must turn on WiFi, power off phone, power phone on, cellular signal is fine.
Plug phone into USB for charging. Power off, or re-start phone, no cellular signal. Remove USB cable, still no signal. Remove cable, power off phone, turn phone back on, cellular signal is fine.
Let me re-cap that for you:
If I reboot my phone with WiFi turned off, or with the USB connector plugged into power, I do not get a cellular connection. The only way to make my phone work correctly is to make sure WiFi is on and it is not plugged in before turning it on or restarting.
WTF
And since you're reading, did anyone come up with a call volume fix for this thing yet?
Thanks!
I use EasySMS app to sens text messages from my phone by typing them on my laptop. Laptop connects to EazySMS through Wifi. It works when the screen is ON, but when it goes off, the http interface no longer works (page not found errors). I then need to turn on the screen again to regain connectivity.
EasySMS has an option 'Keep wifi connected (drains battery)' and I already have it ON.
At the same time, AirDroid works fine over wifi even with screen off.
What could be the problem?
Hi
Tray
Go to the settings - wireless & networks - Wi-Fi settings- then click right - Advanced-second option change to never.

Turned out DISABLING "'Keep wifi connected" made it work. How logical...
My wifi doesn't automatically connect when a known wifi is in range unless and until I turn the screen on. Means when it's sleeping, it won't connect to any known wifi. If its already connected to a wifi network and if the screen is turned off after that, it stays connected. But lets say power goes off and wifi disconnects because of turning off of the router. When power comes back, and router is automatically switched on, the phone doesnt reconnect automatically when in standby. It connects immediately as soon as I switch on the display. Wifi scanning, keep wifi on during sleep and all those options are enabled. But it still doesnt automatically connect to any known wifi when in standby...I have to turn on the display for that.
Any solutions?
Same issue on lg g3 and xperia z2

I am having the same issue on my LG G3 d855 and Xperia Z2 with latest cm12.1 nightlies. When my phone's screen is off and I am connected to my home wifi. If I go out of my home and to a nearby friend's home. My phone does not automatically reconnect to my friend's wifi (which is known to my phone). If have to switch on my screen and wait a few seconds to reconnect.

I have an automotive head unit running Android 8.0.
Plugged into one of the head unit's USB ports is a 4G dongle that creates a Wi-Fi hotspot.
When I turn my car on, the head unit connects almost instantly to the Wi-Fi hotspot but the 4G data connection isn't quite ready for 15 seconds or so.
Is there a widget I can place that will do something similar to pinging a website (such as Google) and turn green when it gets a response?
