[Q] Jiayu G4 shutting down [PLS HELP] - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've had the phone for 2 months without any issues (other than the crappy GPS and compass) and about a week ago, all of a sudden it started to randomly turn itself off. At about the same time it completely destroyed the SD card, after warning me a few times that it was 'unexpectedly removed' which always fixed itself on its own within a few minutes - anyway, gutted about losing all my precious data but I suppose it's otherwise unrelated, the new card runs OK so far.
The shutdowns occur on average 3 times a day and the phone can't be turned on without removing the battery, which is the biggest annoyance. Running stock G4W 20130819-085550 (upgraded from previous version but not sure what that was) but even tried MIUI 3.11.16 by sta-s2z - same problem. Bought it from uredeal.com which appears to be down so can't even ask about warranty. Not aware of installing anything that could be the cause.
Some logs from CatLog are attached, surprised by the huge number of errors, some fatal in case of the 2nd and 3rd log but they don't seem to be the same cause (?) also suppose the 1st log might not have any fatal errors only cos I had the write period set too long, then reduced it to 5 lines. I have no idea what to do or try next. Any ideas, please?

One more log... can somebody help please?

bump... please... :crying:

If u can access play bstore, searcha and install jiayu.es application, it´s in english . it will give u access to latest stock rom without the chinese stuff.
Hope it solves your problem.

guerrix: thanks but unfortunately the issue prevails under that ROM, too

My Nokia phone also appears you this kind of situation, I am very upset, don't know how to solve.

Experiencing exactly the same issues with a Jiayu G3S, did you manage to get to the bottom of it????

phatrat: afraid not

ok so work-around found thanks to jiayu.es forums, use app Wake Lock to setup partial wake + apply on boot + notification. eats lots of battery but no shutdowns for several days now.

I have this same problem of random shutdowns. It switches of completely random, at least that's what it looks like. I have found out at least two things:
1)Try to turn of wifi! If you turn of wifi, it has never happened to me that it shut down randomly. I do never use 3g or 2g mobile internet, so I don't know if an active 2/3g makes the phone shut down. At least I recommend you to do it.
2) Most oftenly, the phone turns off when I receive some whatsapp messages. I can see it, because of the warning light on top of the phone that is flickering. Furthermore removing your complete whatsapp and reinstall it cleanly, does not solve it. Cleaning or removing your SD neither does. I'm still on it, but do not expect major breakthroughs from my side. I'm not a phone technician.
I haven't tried a fresh install, somewhere I think it would solve the problem. But that is my phone instinct.
Do you guys have changed stuff in the internals? Like change the framework, install xposed, etc?

Thanks for the reply. Could you be more specific in regards to the steps necessary, is the app required called 'Wakelock Detector-Save Battery'? I had a look on the Jiayu.es forums but couldn't find anything in regard to the solution you suggested (doesn't help it being in Spanish). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

foro.jiayu.es + google translate: Install an app called Wake Lock (A light bulb with a padlock.) This application makes it unique is that the phone when "locked" not enter hibernation state and therefore the CPU is always running. Advantage : Well, so far has not given me any failure mobile and took almost 3 days with the application. Disadvantage : It is assumed that sucks a lot of battery, but I loaded it yesterday evening and now I have 78% battery. How is this application set? 1. Open the application. 2. Click "PARTIAL_WAKE_LOCK". By pressing a series of numbers appear (to 4) and put as text "Partial. Ensures That the CPU is running. The Might not be on screen.". 3. Press the button on the left to open the mobile application options and click on "Options" and have labeled "Autostart on boot" and "Notification".

I have a G4A. Which model are you running -- basic, or advanced or other? What ROM are you running?
Have you tried any kind of debug or test to determine which component of the phone is the culprit? Try to fresh power-on the phone from power-off, enable debugging in settings, connect a USB cable to a computer (and phone) and running "adb bugreport > results.txt" command and post the results.txt file here. Also can use "CatLog" app or some other logcat app or dmesg app to record logs, and post the log file to here.
Just for kicks, you can also try 'factory mode' ? This will test hardware and output some messages. This can be done by taking out the battery, hold the VOL DOWN button, plug in a USB cable to computer, keep holding VOL DOWN button until the phone powers on and shows a chinese menu. On the first menu item, press POWER button once.

I have the same problem (i;ve tried 4 different roms)
I've tried the last official
staz and kiloes miuis
with no luck
i've seen that when i use two sim cards the problem is worse..
i'm posting the adb bugreport (because i cannot indestand it..)

didn't see anything bad in your 'results txt' file. try logcat or catlog app from android google play or download its apk file and record / save its log and post that here. note: some devices show nothing useful from logcat or catlog (like my Jiayu)
also try a "dmesg" log app.

with this command # adb shell cat /proc/kmsg
but i cannot understand these errors..

disregard those messages because I also got hundred's of those when I capture kmsg output but my phone works fine. I don't know what those messages mean either. but no worries.
Code:
adb kill-server
adb devices
adb shell su -c cat /proc/kmsg > kmsg-output.txt
[ CTRL C ]
zip kmsg-output.txt.zip
did you try "logcat" app or adb logcat command? try this. the file will be large so please zip (compress) the file and attach this zip file here.
Code:
adb kill-server
adb devices
adb logcat -v long > adblogcat-output.txt
[ CTRL C ]
zip adblogcat-output.txt.zip adblogcat-output.txt
if adb logcat does not work then try this alternative command (needs root) :
Code:
adb shell su -c cat /dev/log/system > adblogcat-output.txt
[ CTRL C ]
you may see my logs for comparison. good luck.

Fixing NT stuck with CWM, restore / update won't work

Many people are getting what they are calling a bricked Nook tablet that won't boot or restore an OS. Often when they boot into CWM (from internal or SD) they get errors on screen, or possibly after an attempted install they show in the advanced / log
E:Can't mount / cache/recovery/command/
E:Can't mount / cache/recovery/log/
E:Can't open / cache/recovery/log/
E:Can't mount / cache/recovery/last_log/
E:Can't open / cache/recovery/last_log/
failed to open/sys/class/android_usb/state: No such file or directory
This is actually an extremely common issue it seems. Basically its' quite likely you're partition map has some how been damaged.
Firstly just make sure you can't install an update or restore an old backup from SD, if that still fails and you end up straight back in CWM
All you need to do is download the parted binary HERE extract it from the archive and push it to your device or even just put it on an SD
ADB into your device and run the binary with the following command (you'll need it to be the accesible path or you can just be in the directory where it is)
parted /dev/block/mmcblk0 print
It will most likely show up with an error and ask if you want to fix it. Just say yes and let it do its' thing.
After it completes, reboot your device and see if you still get the same errors, Attempt to install CM7 once more.
If it still doesn't work, run the parted command again then download Adams total wipe and run that. It'll reset your device back to total stock. The parted command will repair the partition table and adamoutlers software will upload all the required software to the correct places for it all to work
Hope that helps!
If you get stuck feel free to give me a shout

NT full brick...unable to recover.
My NT is suffering from the CM7-SD format brick problem.
I have hunted high and low for instructions on how to get ADB to work on a bricked NT. My NT is in a state where the only thing that boots on it is an SD-based CWM, but when I plug the NT into a PC, no matter what I do, CWM recovery starts up and the PC detects the unit as disk drives. ADB will NOT find the unit. I have tried on two separate Win7 machines...same problem on both.
I have also tried using Adam's total wipe fix, and while linux boot, the full wipe just hangs forever on the first step (zeroing MLO).
I am not sure I have the right USB drivers...basically, I'm using the ones I had for my long-gone Nook Color.
Can anyone offer me some help?
Thanks.

It's not actually caused by formatting SD on CM7 any more. you could happily format your SD all day, although we still recommend not formatting anything at all via the NT.
If you have CWM you should have access to ADB, the probably reason it doesn't work for you is that you need to tell your computer what the id is on the device so that it can recognise it. What operating system are you using?

Thanks, Celtic.
I'm on Win7. I have 'adb_usb.ini' in folder:
C:\Users\<myname>\.android
And the 'ini' contains 0x2080.

Here's a brief history, as best I can recall, of how I got where I am with my NT.
1. Installed NT CM7 about a week ago. All worked well until I noticed Kindle app misbehaving by not flipping pages on a book. I tried same book on two other android devices, and both worked fine. So...
2. In a complete act of stupidity, I went into 'Storage' on the NT, and noticing that there were 3 sections listed there (whose names escape me, but something like 'Internal SD', 'SD' and 'External SD'), I formatted all 3 (yup, dumb).
3. I shut down the NT (10 second press of power), and from there on in, tablet hung at 'N' screen. I manages to get CWM to start, using a combination of buttons I now don't recall (Power and Volume Up, perhaps?).
4. For reasons I can only describe as lunacy, I used Recovery to format everything it listed as format-able (under Mounts/Storage). From this point on, the tablet would not boot at all, not even back into CWM Recovery.
5. Thru online searching, I found an image for making a bootable CWM Recovery, which I created and used successfully to boot into recovery. I used it unsuccessfully to try to re-install CM7.
6. I then tried getting an ADB connection so I could try the various other fixes offered online, but have been completely unable to get a connection. I followed the instructions found in XDA thread ID 1424563 (sorry, I'm too junior to have link-posting permissions), but the thread assumes I can get to the NT's settings to turn on debug mode, which I can't.
7. As mentioned, I also tried Adam's full wipe/restore, but it hangs on phase one (zeroing MLO).
That's the crux of it, for what it's worth. I think my big issue right now is not being able to get ADB to work with it. If I could, I could try the partition command you gave in the OP.
Thanks for any help or ideas...

you should have damaged the partition tables, so please make a CMW card first, and then you can use adb shell to repair the partition table.
you can refer to this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22157605&postcount=25
If that older driver you have don't work, you can find a driver in this thread. (I don't know if they are the same as color or not TBH)
Use the USBDeview to rid yourself of anything aldroid related, anything Google related, and any mass storage devices. Restart PC, then plug your NT in. (This is how I had to do it...many times)

Thanks, ms, but as I mentioned, I am completely unable to get ADB to work. It will not find the tablet. When I plug the tablet in to my Win7 box, the installed CMW card boots the tablet into recovery, and the PC detects it as disk drives (as seen in Win7's Device Mangler).
Quick progress update...

The old drivers and instructions you linked to worked...ADB now finds my NT! Thanks much!
Now...
I did the 'parted' thing, and while 3 or 4 errors were reported thru the process, it stated it completed successfully. I then rebooted with my CWM Recovery SD card and attempted to re-install CM7. The installer completed quite quickly and without errors, but it did not work (as I suspected it wouldn't, given how fast it executed). I then ran 'Brick_fix.zip', and it, too, completed successfully (well, except for the ping at the end), but I was unable to install CM7. So...
I'm now on to Adam's fix (note in the OP) and I'm glad to report it's working now. It got past the first stage (zeroing MLO) and is in the middle of 'flashing factory'. Sweet!
I'll report back in the morning, hopefully with good news. Thanks so much for the help, everyone.

Sorry I didn't get back to you last night, I had already gone to bed, looks like you've already got the help you need though. If the wiping had started to work you'll be fine lesson learnt though, DO NOT FORMAT ANYTHING ON NT
Let us know it's fixed (which I'm sure it will be )
Bad news...

Well, the news is bad this morning. As someone mentioned in Adam's post, during the install, the screen went blank, so I left it for about another half an hour, then powered the device off and restarted it. All appeared OK, as the B&N firmware stated that it was clearing data, but that process froze for a long while, then a message popped up stating "Please restart your device and try again. If you encounter the same issue, contact technical support at blah, blah, blah." I restarted...same message. Over and over.
I tried the full wipe no less than 4 more times, preceding each attempt with a 'part' command, but the full wipe, for some unknown reason, stops about 60 seconds in, and pops up what appears to be a windowed 'ls -al'. I tried two different class 4 SDs in the 4 attempts...same for each.
Not feeling hopeful at this point.

Here's the results from my 'part' command:
Code:
~ # parted /dev/block/mmcblk0 print
parted /dev/block/mmcblk0 print
Model: MMC SEM16G (sd/mmc)
Disk /dev/block/mmcblk0: 15.9GB
Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B
Partition Table: gpt
Number Start End Size File system Name Flags
1 131kB 262kB 131kB xloader
2 262kB 524kB 262kB bootloader
3 524kB 16.3MB 15.7MB recovery
4 16.8MB 33.6MB 16.8MB boot
5 33.6MB 83.9MB 50.3MB rom
6 83.9MB 134MB 50.3MB fat32 bootdata
7 134MB 522MB 388MB factory
8 522MB 1164MB 642MB ext4 system
9 1164MB 1611MB 447MB ext4 cache
10 1611MB 2684MB 1074MB fat32 media
11 2684MB 15.6GB 12.9GB ext4 userdata
Note the fat32 and ext4 file system designations for various directories (is directories the correct word?). On page 6 of Adam's full wipe thread, user 'howcansheslap' shows the output of his/her 'part' command, and the file system in his/her output is all blank. Perhaps not coincidentally, my full wipe process stops on processing 'bootdata', the first item listed as fat32 above, and displays the windowed 'ls' of folder 'bootdata'.
Any thoughts on the relevance of this info?
Thanks all.

Turns out the full wipe *was* working. The trouble is, my impatience got the better of me. Adam's wipe process does not provide a whole lot in the way of progress feedback, and in fact, it can be 5 minutes or so before you see anything meaningful on screen. Best advice: give the process a full half hour to complete and don't assume that it's hung/stopped working just because you see virtually no progress reports. Note also that if you touch the screen anywhere during the wipe, any progress bar that may or may not have been present will probably disappear, and you won't see another one displayed for possibly several minutes.
My apologies to all for subjecting you to my own impatience, and a big thank-you for all the help.
I spoke too soon...again.
The full wipe/restore completed successfully, but now when I start the tablet, I get taken thru the B&N setup process and at the stage where it asks me to login to my B&N account, I get:
Error
Sorry we're having trouble setting up your NOOK. Please shutdown the device and try again. If the problem persist, contact Customer Support at...
Well, the problem has persisted all day. I have even done the full restore a couple of extra times. And the tech support line just keeps telling me they're unable to process my call at this time.
I am definitely able to login to my B&N account thru my PC, so I've got the credentials right.
Has anyone encountered this before?
UPDATE: I followed the instructions for bypassing registration, found here:
http://nookdevs.com/NookColor_Factory_Mode/Skip_Oobe
This allowed me to get into settings and 'erase/unregister' the device, but alas, still no joy after a reboot.
back from brick to Nook Tablet
Hi to all, i had the same problem as imacmill onlly i've idiotly erased the "SD card" the 1 gb amount.
After restarting the NT did not boot. I've entered in CWM recovery... and had the same problem (***up my partition table)
E:Can't mount / cache/recovery/command/
E:Can't mount / cache/recovery/log/
E:Can't open / cache/recovery/log/
E:Can't mount / cache/recovery/last_log/
E:Can't open / cache/recovery/last_log/
after agonizing 3hrs we succeeded to repair my NT via parted with ADB.
I've attached the log from adb.

Sounds like its not actually booting the SD card. Try powering off completely and the put SD card in. Connect power cable and see if it boots. It could also be your SD isn't written correctly. Could be worth you downloading the latest cm7 SD image from the dev thread. See if that boots.

cwm wont run
Thanks for the reply! i have tried all combinations of power,"n", vol up, and vol down, holding not holding all combinations of buttons and also the 8 failed boot buisness, plugging in to wall outlet, plugging in to pc... no changes yet, still "n" symbol on screen, then pic of box, hang. i am downloading the latest cm7 build and downloaded the installer located
here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1000957
per your suggestion. im now making ramen, because the download says 52 min left. I will check back soon. thanks again.
I have followed the instructions and still no boot to cm7. still "n", then pic of box, hang. darn. any ideas?
Can't ADB. PLEASE HELP.
I am having trouble with my nook tablet. It will not boot an OS, and it just hangs at CWM. I am trying the original solution posted by CelticWebSolutions, but I am very new to all of this, and I can't get my computer (windows 7) to recognize the nook as an ADB device. I have no idea what USBDeview is, or where to get it. I have also managed to kill my 2 best micro SD cards. They were 32 gb cards, and when I tried to install CM7. If possible, I would like to just get back to a factory Nook Tablet. If anyone can help me reach a solution, I would be happy to donate.

Can you get into CWM?, Have you tried Adam's total wipe method?, what OS did you have when you bricked your device? What exactly have you done to it? We need more details in order to help you.

[Q] Corrupt partition? how to check first and then reformat/fix if needed?

Background
I've got an HTC Inspire 4G (similar to the Desire HD) and those forums are more and more just for help flashing ROMs, I think my problem is deeper and wanted to see if I could get some general help.
I've been rooted and S-OFF since January when I switched to CM7. That was fantastic until late May. Phone started to freeze randomly. I decided to try flashing new ROM and am now using a JB ROM called Jellytime.
Symptoms
1. Phone freezes randomly. Removing the battery is the only way to shut it off. The time to freeze seems to get shorter and shorter eventually freezing during the boot animation. I can go in and wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik (I'm using CWM Recovery v5.0.2.0) and flash the rom and get a little use again. But most of that time is spent signing back in with google accounts and redownloading apps.
2. I can't flash other ROMs. I've tried flashing back to CM7 or to Android Revolution which is a stock-ish ROM with no luck. With CM7 I'd get an error in recovery a little while after it started that I don't remember off the top of my head. Android Revolution uses a different revoery or flashing tool (I think that's what AROMA is) When flashing that ROM, things go well until I get the following error at which point my choice is to reboot.
Code:
assert failed:write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img","boot")
Once I reboot I am back in Jellytime.
3. Can't mount /cache CWM Recovery will throw up some can't mount and can't open /cache errors once I "Wipe Data/Factory reset" I believe the two places it tries are /cache/recovery/log and /cache/recovery/last_log
4. Can't format System I've tried to format the /system or /data partitions using Recovery only to have an "Error: Can't format /system" returned.
What's going on?
Have I got a corrupt partition? My eMMC chip is fine as best I can tell. I ran 'dmesg | grep mmc0' and got the following back.
Code:
dmesg | grep mmc0
<3>[ 6.684753] mmc0: No card detect facilities available
<6>[ 6.685363] mmc0: Qualcomm MSM SDCC at 0x00000000a0500000 irq 98,0 dma 7

<6>[ 6.845764] mmcblk0: mmc0:0001 SEM04G 2.16 GiB
This link shows similar output for a good chip. I can't find the page now that had the messages indicating a bad chip. (browser history far too full of pages that led nowhere)
So...
Have I got a corrupt partition(s)?
Is there something else I should check?
Is there a way to test partitions to find errors? e2fsck?
How can I reformat things (from adb is fine with some guidance) if this is my issue and if that is the fix?
I've poked around the file system a bit in teh adb shell.
If anyone who has knowledge / experience with the android file system could just give some pointers, I think I can take it from there.
From reading it seems the /data, /system/ and /cache etc are all mount points that point to separate partitions, but then those partitions seem to be a directory or two deep and so I'm a little confused by that. Also, I'm not comfortable after reading up on formatting or making partitions and would be open to just a smidge of help on the commands as I'd want to use them.
Thanks.
the partitions are location in /dev/block...
they go with a name with a prefix like mmcblkpXXXX
not all phones have same name for each partitions... so its up to you to find out which is for the system which is for the data and etc....
but you can actually tell it right away by throwing this command on a terminal emulator...
su -c cat proc/mounts

not all phones have same name for each partitions... so its up to you to find out which is for the system which is for the data and etc....
but you can actually tell it right away by throwing this command on a terminal emulator...
su -c cat proc/mounts

Thanks for the help.
You're right on with what i found. mmcblk0p25, *26, and *27 were the system, data, and cache partitions. I think it was Sunday I tried e2fsck on them. Found lots of errors. Eventually was able to flash a new ROM though. Still having the same problems though with freezing. The partitions look like they have issues if I used e2fsck with the -n flag. But then when I check the version, it gives me the impression it might only be good at fixing ext2 partitions. Currently trying to figure out how I can check ext3 and ext4.
in fact, I think its when I use mount (with one of those partitions mounted) that it shows they are ext2. But then when I use parted and 'print' it shows as ext4.
Most frustrating is my phone seems to run fine until it freezes. So I really want to believe this is a software thing. I don't know for sure, but ti seems a hardware issue would manifest itself differently.
Thanks again for the help.

[Q] Hardware Wifi Failure?

Hello, I was given a Gtablet by a friend. Everything is in proper working order except for the wifi. The wifi will endlessly scan, never pulling up any SSIDs. Here's what I've done to troubleshoot:
Ascertained flight mode was off (it was)
Enabled wifi through the developer options (Did nothing)
Manually enter SSID/Security information (Claims that SSID is not in range)
Reloaded the OS (He had VEGAn Tab on there. I reloaded the 5.1 Beta. I don't know what version he had on there, oops.)
After a clean install I have the exact same issue, which leads me to believe it is a hardware issue rather than a software issue. Is this common? Am I forgetting something? Would loading an entirely different ROM be of any use or do they also use the same driver?
My apologies if this has been answered previously, but in all my searching I can only find people who have this problem temporarily; a reboot fixes it for them. I haven't been able to find someone who has had this as a persistent issue.

I'll have to look at some logs to ascertain what your WiFi problem is.
Run the commands in this post (after rebooting the tablet) and then post the text files that're created.

Thanks, see attached are the logs as per request. As a side note, now that I have the terminal emulator on there I tried a few commands I dug up on the internet after I looked over the logs.
Code:
$ su
# ifconfig tiwlan0 up
# ifconfig eth0 up
Both gave an error message
Code:
error: SIOCGIFFLAGS (No such device)
Also
Code:
# svc wifi enable
did not solve my issues. Oh well.

The wireless LAN interface name on the gTab is wlan0. Hence your error messages: "No such device" for the ifnames tiwlan0 and eth0. (The latter would work for the ethernet I/F on the dock--if you had one connected.)
Also
Code:
# svc wifi enable

1. You have to look at the Android system logs (using logcat) to see the result of that svc command.
2. Your Android logs indicate that your WiFi interface is a) disabled at startup and b) then not enabled thereafter:
Code:
01-07 23:21:10.429 V/ConnectivityService( 990): Starting Wifi Service.
01-07 23:21:10.429 I/WifiService( 990): WifiService starting up with Wi-Fi [B]disabled[/B]
Suggestions:
Since this now looks like a ROM problem (ie. not HW):
1. See this thread. Run the script to disable Airplane Mode which might be causing your problem. If that doesn't work, try step 2:
2. Boot into CWM and then a) Format /cache and b) Repartition the Internal SD card (take the external one out first).
You'll lose all your current apps and data with this step, essentially reverting to a "fresh" install of your ROM.
Re-setup WiFi, time & date and other things again.
If step 2. doesn't work, report back next year, and I'll give you more commands to run then.

Negative. Ran the airplane fix script, nothing. Reset cache/re-partitioned, still nothing. It's still endlessly scanning/shutting off/scanning.

This is puzzling because from your last logs, it doesn't look like the wlan kernel driver was even loaded, so no AP scanning should be possible. A little background will clarify what I mean.
On all the 2.6.32.x kernels for the gTablet, the wlan driver is not compiled into the kernel. Instead, it is built as a separate kernel module which is loaded and unloaded as needed by Android (from the files in /system/lib/hw/wlan/). When the wlan driver is loaded both the kernel (dmesg) and Android (logcat) will show some characteristic messages and until the driver is inserted into the kernel no AP scanning, or other wireless functions, should be possible. And, no wlan driver-related messages in your logs tells me that the driver was likely not loaded. (Also, only after the wlan driver is loaded does it check and initialize the wireless HW. So, only after its been loaded, strictly speaking, can we rule out a HW problem.)
Sometimes the Android logs are not complete, so I want to you setup ADB on your PC, enable USB debugging on the gTablet (Setting > Applications > Development) and collect the Android logs like this from now on:
1. Power off gTab; attach the USB cable to it.
2. Open a CMD.exe window on the PC, then run this command (and keep the window minimized):
Code:
C:\> [B]adb logcat -v time > logcat.txt[/B]
After all the tests/commands have been done, restore this window and press Ctrl-C to kill ADB and terminate Android log collection.
3. Power on the gTablet. The ADB command will wait for the gTablet and keep collecting logs on the PC.
Post also the output of these commands:
Code:
C:\> [B]adb shell dmesg > dmesg.txt[/B]
C:\> [B]adb shell lsmod > lsmod.txt[/B]
C:\> [B]adb shell "cd /; find system -type f -print0 | xargs -0 sha1sum" > sha1sum.txt[/B]
Is this the ROM you currently have?
Have you applied the VEGAn 1.00 beta 5.1.1 supplement also?

In this one I can see the kernel WiFi driver being loaded, and the driver is not reporting any HW chip, SDIO bus, or other errors:
Code:

<4>[ 23.907103]
<4>[ 23.907109] Dongle Host Driver, version 4.218.223.1
As far as the kernel driver is concrned, everything looks OK, but the Android logs still don't show any SSID associations.
What're the exact outputs of these commands? (You can post a screenshot. Mask the psk= value from the 1st output, if present)

Those are OK since you've corrected them. But, these commands you'll have to redo:
1. In the first command (fgrep ... | tr), you've typed a '/' (forward slash) instead of what I've given in the example, which is a '\' (back-slash) character.
The correct character will remove all those blank lines. But, this is a minor typo compared to:
2. The last 2 commands (wpa_cli scan* ...), which you'll have to redo. This time without the extraneous driver argument (again, see the example)--which turns it into a completely different (and non-existent) command. This is why the output doesn't look like what I've shown.
Instead of typing the commands in manually, select and copy the command lines from the browser and paste them into the shell window.
You might also want to increase the no. of columns that CMD.exe displays: Right-click on the title-bar; choose Properties; select Layout; increase the no. of Columns to, let's say, 150.
3. That dmesg.txt file is not very useful because you've not rebooted the tablet before issuing that command.
The kernel has a fixed-size message buffer, so all the HW initialization messages printed only at system boot will be overwritten by later, and irrelevent, messages as time passes. From the timestamps, it looks like your tablet's been on for a couple of weeks, at least--I can't see any of the earlier boot-up messages.

Random Restarts; How Do I Debug This?

I used CatLog in Debug mode to no avail. I can't figure out what's causing the Random Restarts problem. I've even reflashed my whole system.
The problem with CatLog is that it needs to write to disk to record the log. When I set it to write every 50 or 20 lines, I successfully reproduced a random restart while it's logging, but when I look at the log, it only recorded the 50 or 20 lines PRIOR to the random restart. I need at least the last 3 lines.
When I set it to record every 1 line (this should work in theory), it goes into a "log loop" logging it's own log as a log. So in other words, it logs that it's logging every time it logs a line. This makes the log file useless as I need to go on living for hours until I successfully produce the next random restart by accident, which I can't do as this will fill up my whole disk and may cause me a bigger problem in a matter of an hour or two, I assume.
Instead of catlog use logcat through terminal.
Code:
su
logcat > "your sdcard path here"/log.txt
Or
logcat | grep E/ > "your sdcard path here"/log.txt
Then you have either a full log or an error log. Or for debug only replace E/ with D/

How will that help? And when do I do that? Before the incident so it's logged, or afterwards so it's written to this specified file?
Sorry logcat before the incident as logcat doesn't stop until something explictly stops it and as you are piping it to file as it goes you will get a log until the last entry before reboot. It won't solve the problem but at least you will have a log.

Poco F1 with Black/Blue screen and reboot

Hi there,
It's my first post here, I landed here a lot of times and always found answers to my questions, many thanks to this community. I hope my frenchglish remains understandable.
The problem is that my poco F1 crashes randomly. I get a black, sometimes blue screen and then the device reboots to the OS normally, without any loop.
It can happen after 10 seconds or 1 hour and I cannot detect what is causing these crashes. Maybe something related to wifi.
How can I investigate to find a clue ?
About the device :
- I bought it used, already unlocked
- I tried with /e/, CalyxOS (2.7.0 and 2.9.0), and with miui (flashed with MiFlash)
- I tried several firmware versions
- I don't see anything relevant in logcat last messages, a lot of errors but different at each crash
There are these errors that are happening a lot of time, but I don't know if it's the cause because they seem to happen constantly :
- CANNOT LINK EXECUTABLE "/vendor/bin/wifidisplayhalservice": library "libwfdaac_vendor.so" not found: needed by /vendor/lib/libwfdmmsrc_proprietary.so in namespace (default) (300 lines over 20mn)
- W libperfmgr: Failed to write to node: /proc/sys/kernel/sched_boost with value: 0, fd: -1 (500 lines over 20mn)
In dmesg, I have tons of these :
[ 176.525217] [schedu][3448610271][14:31:06.270389] wlan: [2652:E:WMI] Service id 258 but WMI ext2 service bitmap is NULL

If anyone has an idea to solve these crashes, some ways to reproduce the crash, test hardware, how to get relevant logs...
Any help appreciated.

Hi,
Nope. I changed the battery, it didn't solve anything but I read in several posts that it fixed the problem.
I also removed the mobo, put it in the oven. It was supposed to check if some soldering would be defective. It didn't solve anything.
I finally cancelled, I may try again later. I think it's a hardware issue.

I'm not sure about persist partition. I flashed several times, with several firmwares and several roms. Is it part of these processes ?
I follow guides step by step without a good knowing of android, so I may have done a persist partition flash.
Thanks for this awesome collection anyway, the most things I did came from it.
