(SOLVED) [Q] Change roms in Note 2 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

I'm interested in changing roms in my Note 2, I605.
The phone is currently stock except the carrier is Page Plus: not Verizon.
It is also rooted.
Can I change roms without killing Page Plus?
Mod Edit - Best Rom discussion is frowned upon

nvm

When comes to rooting your Note II and installing custom Roms i would use the Casual Method found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2272066. As for the Roms working on page plus, with my limited knowledge of flashing, i would guess you would need to edit the APNS to match PagePlus.

This could be a simple flash or flash and you may have to change a line or two in the build prop to get it were you want. You have a question that only a select few that could truly answer yours. Verizon phone on page plus flashing i605 Roms hmmm.

Simply Honey ROM OR run i9000 ROM?

About 4 months ago I installed a Rom to my girlfriends vibrant and it has been AWESOME compared to the stock touchwiz and compared to any of the roms I ever installed(tried all of them) for my HD2 and the few roms I have tried on my new-to-me Fascinate. The ROM just feels so cushy smooth, scrolling, resizing ect touch commands are almost iPhone-like and the stock UI has perfect icons, colors ect. I just can't say enough good things about this phone now.
I lost the original thread I got the rom from. The build shows "Simply Honey 3.5 Revolution by SGT" but I believe it's been ported from the i9000 as I had to flash a i9000 bootloader that I assume has been modified for the vibrant.
Is there any way I can get this rom onto my Fascinate? It seems hard to believe others aren't aware of this rom but a search for "simply honey" in the fascinate section and sub sections has returns zero results.
If you don't see it in the Dev forum, it's not available for the Fascinate.
The hardware on the SGS line is different enough (particularly between GSM and CDMA variants) among carriers that flashing a ROM from a different carrier is a fast track to bricksville.
Your best bet, if you REALLY want a particular ROM is to get the sources from the developer of that ROM and start working on your own version (porting it, as it were), or convince the dev to start working on a Fascinate version of it.
Also: Never ever ever flash a GSM ROM onto a CDMA phone. If it works at all, you'll be flashing all the way back to DL09 (and probably repartitioning, as well) to get back to square one.

As I said, it's not mentioned in any of the sub forums according to the search and nowhere on my google search either so I realize it's probably not available but I posted hoping someone would post with information directly relating to experience with the ROM and maybe developer inside info or information to another ROM with similar refinement.

First android Phone Noob Question.

So after having had the iPhone 4 since release date. i thought i'd switch it up had picked up the Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE edition found it too big for my hands, went back to the Galaxy S2 standard in white.
Now i'm in canada, Using a bell Unlocked Unit GT-9100M i believe.
i'm trying to install this theme. but i get stuck at a boot loop every time.

also in terms of custom roms what would you recommend to a newbie
Did you root your phone ?
if no read this section and root.
SGS2 Bell/Virgin Canadian Thread Q&A (Root/Unlock/Firmware) Modems/Mods
second you need to use odex or deoxed rom for the theme to work.
what kind of rom are you looking for, so can point you in the right direction.
You could use CheckROM RevoHD V4....it will automatically install KitchenPro, and you will have the abillity to install themes directly from there or customize almost everything you need on your phone.
But this means you have to root your device, if you haven't done it yet.

Question about i9500 + i9505 roms for VZW GS4

Heres the story;
Had a i9500 and had omega rom on it and i LOVED it. This was a toy around phone though; wasn't used as my daily driver.
Sold the i9500 and i now have a VZW GS4 - Is there anyway i can flash omega rom to it? or is there an omega rom for it?
What i'm ultimately asking is can i flash 9505 or 9500 roms to it ? My apologies if this has been answered, i'm still just beginning the research into this.
Thanks
ive also been checking out this hyperdrive which looks pretty cool.. although i have one issue, i'm not rooted or have twrp installed. Can anyone point me in the direction of where to download the twrp recovery for the verizon gs4?
Essentially, the US variants are classified as i9505 versions (despite having different numbers). You can easily check this by downloading an app like CPU/RAM/DEVICE Identifier and seeing what version of the CPU you have. Then go to Wikipedia and check for Galaxy S4, and on the right you'll see 3 versions, the second (i9505), should be your version.
Start here for rooting and recovery. If you DO NOT have the older Verizon build number (check in About Phone), then use the other guide in the warning section listed there for the newer build. For custom recovery involving TWRP, there is a link at the bottom of the first post. However, I was having major issues just trying to get it on, so I opted for the Clockwork Recovery mod (they have a touch interface if you donate).

Alright just got my VZW S4 - Its the VRUAME7 version out of the box :/ i noticed the other root method shows a video in which he says you cannot flash custom roms?
Unfortunately, this is true. You can root and get custom recovery, but not ROM at the moment. SafeStrap is still in development for ME7, so hopefully they will get custom ROMs working on that build.

When you say "out of the box" did you have it activated? Also, did you buy in a brick and mortar store or online?
I am going to be buying an unactivated S4 from Bestbuy for Verizon and every one I have looked at is the MDE build, which I think is an older build than the MDK build (still trying to confirm this...)

New to S4

So I just got handed an S4 from a co-worker, I just spent an hour looking up info on root and stuff to load custom roms (looking mainly for CM11). My main problem seems to be all the shortened terms and everything associated with this phone, root vs unlocked bootloader vs etc, MK2?? NC5??. I can't seem to find any "newb" friendly breakdown of all of this. This isn't my first hacked device by far (I got an old DiNC and a ReZound for my last 2), but definitely the most confusing one. So here's the info I got on my phone: Galaxy S4, Verizon, SCH-I545, Android 4.4.2, VRUFNC5, hardware version: I545.06.
Can anyone point me in the right directions to understand better, and get me to my final destination of Custom rom? Or at least get me to understand this better?
I did search the first 5 pages of every section to see if there was a "newb-friendly" sticky but didn't seem to go anywhere fast, just made me more confused.

The problem with a simple "newb friendly" page is that every update to the phone changes what you need to do to root and what you can run.
For your NC5 phone, you need to use Towelroot to root it. That gets you root, but you're stuck with the stock bootloader. That means that you can't directly run a custom ROM. You can use Safestrap to allocate space for an alternative ROM, which is almost the same as a fully unlocked phone. The big thing you lose is that you can't run arbitrary ROMs, just what's compatible with the stock kernel. No CM, no AOSP.
So, read up on Towelroot and Safestrap. Once you have those down, you should be n the way.
Yeah, I got towel root already installed, supersu running and added to system and Knox disabled. Where should I be looking at roms that I can run under safestrap? Or should I say which section of the forums? Thank you for your response btw.

Usually, roms that are compatible with safestrap are labeled as such. Since nc5 doesn't allow custom kernels, you will stuck with touchwiz kernels, so usually the roms will look like the stock samsung experience or a themed version. If you want an aosp themed safestrap rom, get eclipse rom. If you want a 99% gpe s4 rom download the gpe edition safestrap rom( it has some bugs though).
Usually roms are located at the "Android development" section of the forum. The gpe rom thread is in the general section.

The thing to keep in mind, is that safestrap loads too late to be able to replace the kernel. This is the limiting factor, your stuck on the stock kernel... Different versions of android and different versions of kernels may have slightly different functions/parameters coded into the kernel, so calling a newer function or calling a function with parameters that no longer match the new style will fail.... so if the rom wasn't directly designed for the stock kernel of the same version your using it likely won't work.
In practice that means you need a rom based on TW, that is the same version (NC5) as you are currently using. Not sure but there are likely a few changes the Rom make needs to add for safe strap compatibility... Basically when you look at the Rom's thread it will list a baseband (NC5) and say its safestrap compatible.
Thanks to all of you, that clears up a lot of confusion I had. Now where do I find out (or how do I decifer) if I'm MJ7/MK2/ME7/MI1? Or am I correct in assuming I'm NOT (all the builds I see for safestrap mention those only no NC5.

A question concerning custom roms...

This is my first LG phone (well, the original Nexus 5, but that doesn't really apply) I'm wondering if down the line I would be able to find some of the custom roms (AICP, Slim, Resurrection Remix, etc) for this phone. It's starting to make me think I should have done more research before picking it up. It's a nice phone, but I guess I got spoiled on all the options nexus phones and even the Note 4 had.
First thing is that you need to have the T-Mobile version of this phone. Both ATT & Verison have everything locked down and there can be no custom roms until this has been solved.
If you have the T-Mobile version the jump over to the T-Mobile specific forum and they are there already : http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-v10
