Has anyone tried using the media link HD with the one max?? I cannot get it to stream. it will only go into mirroring mode. Working with HTC but they claim it should work. All updates to phone and media link are done. Just want to know if anyone else has had trouble or i will swap the phone.
Thanks,
(i have two other HTC phones that it works on so not the media link HD. Its a one max specific issue)
i can confirm the media link hd only mirrors on the htc one max. i have the sprint version. stock not rooted.
when i went to the media link, it prompted me to update its firmware. as you mentioned, that did not help.
i know on the htc one and other devices (the lte 4G for example as well) whenever I would play a video or some other file and i was around my media link hd, i would get a prompt asking if i wanted to stream to the tv.. with the max, i get no such notification.
whats cool is my blu ray player, the sony 5100, picked up the pone and i can stream through that whilst i do other things on the device. i did not know the phone could talk to the player.
so yeah its not your phone its more likely a bug that needs removed.. :good:
Ok thank you for checking. I'll will mention that to HTC tech support.

Ok so if anyone actually reads this don't waste your money on the HTC media link. The roku box or most decent blu-Ray players do the same thing and more.

agree. thanks to your post i fired up the media link HD and at the same time had my blu ray player running. the max saw the blu ray player and the streaming was lovely.
i picked up chromecast and its been doing well. if someone is on the fence about getting the media link HD, id also suggest holding off. pick up a chromecast first as its much cheaper.
maybe htc will update the media link hd later....

Okay, so as i learn my new Evo3D, I came across the ability to stream music from my laptop (wireless) and thats just awesome however I was wondering if there is a way to stream videos from my laptop to my phone. I have a bunch of DVD's on my laptop, and think it be great to stream them over to the phone.
What would i need on my phone in order to play them? Im sure I would have to convert them down (no biggy), but on the phone side how would i get them to play? If all i need is that Watch app, then im SOL, cause i removed that by accident.
I am not rooted, and sorry no plans to either.
Thank in advance for any help
Search for zumocast in this forum or on the market mate. It works well for video apart from 3d ones.

Check out plex in the market... their forums and devs are extremely helpful.
Thanks, the zumocast isnt compatible with the Evo 3d, Im reading up on the Plex, and I also came across QLoud. Videos on my laptop are DivX, AVI so im looking at the apps that will either play them, or convert on the fly.

Vlc stream & convert, that will work..in the market. You can stream over 3g/wifi and it converts on the fly.
is there anything i need to install on my pc, for the VLC stream and convert
Rds... i think u will need to install vlc on ur home computer and enable web interface
Thanks everyone.
The VLC, is a little over top my head, with the set up.
GREAT NEWS though...
I got Zumocast to work just fine, thank you very much Bebida
Now if i could just get the Watch app reinstalled after i removed it for no reason, id be very happy.
Orb on the PC and the Orb app or use mycast.orb.com in the browser of the phone

Just download a ROM from the CDMA thread that has it then pull the watch.apk from system, app using 7 zip then re install or your device. Should work I think???

You can stream medias from PC to phone with Connected media. No need to install other apps..
How about PSM(playstation3 media server) it is a DNLA server, there's one for win/mac/linux, it is pretty much a 1-2-3 setting it up, it streams and if need it mux on the fly, so if lets say the evo doesnt play nice with "example" ACC it will mux the audio to mp3 codec on the fly(cpu heavy on pc). On the evo dont have to download anything, just go to the gallery and there's a lil arrow on top right corner, hit it and navigate to Media Server, and you will see PS3 Media Server, and... bOOM! you get your list of media(you configure the folders on the psm [email protected] side), Google PS3 Media server....pretty easy! been using it to stream all my media to all my DNLA devices!
Edit: If you use Handbrake to add some line-tag to the 3d videos(if you have any), the PSM will stream 3D and your Evo WILL play it on 3D mode automatically with the stock player!! no need to download any apks on the phone, just PSM and Handbrake. Been using that with ubuntu/windows7 flawlessly. (nocturnal 2.5.2 - chad's kernel(new#2) )

Play you Video & Music with Clear.fi software to pc or laptop DLNA-enabled via wifi
Hi guys, don't know if this software has been mention before but I just wanna share it to all. It's a great software that's works great on our htc music and video. (sharing movie & music to pc via wifi)
Download at-
http://www.acer.com/clearfi/download/
How to used :
Make sure pc or laptop connected to the same wifi router as your EVO 3D.
Install clear.fi & run.
On top right there's a share setting, click it. Make sure both share you media to other devices and allow other home devices to share media with you. Click o.k.( don't closed the apps)
Open your music apps or video on your phone, click the sharing option, choose share via Wifi network (once you enable the clear.fi sharing you phone will automatically found you laptop or pc) choose connection via wifi (via bluetooth still buggy) and click o.k.
Your Done! Just play whatever video or music you like. Enjoy~

How is this better/different than the current HTC Connected Media App or HTC Media Share? I use the Connected Media App all the time to play my pics/music/videos to my Sony Bravia TV. The only issue is that the TV needs the decoding is done on the TV side and therefore some files will not play. Is this different?
Bcuz you don't need to be on a sence rom like myself or others that hate sence

hi all, its any other device that works like HTC media LINK? i was thinking buy the HTC media link, but i want support to more codecs and so on, something like this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/3D-Android-1080P-Full-HD-Network-DLNA-MKV-Bluray-ISO-Media-Player-Realtek-1186-/250947964440?pt=Home_Theater_in_a_Box&hash=item3a6daa0e18#ht_18971wt_1037
anyone knows any device working like this? or i should buy htc media link? what can or cant do with media link?and lets say what happen if in the future i have another phone, htc media link will work for something?
Thanks a lot
If you're referring to the media link they announced with the HTC one, this ebay item it completely different. The media link is hdmi mirroring but wifi. It isn't out yet and htc hasn't released much info yet so not sure what else it might support. It could be only available for the htc one.
The device you found on ebay specifies Dlna. Dlna is similar to the media link in the sense you are sharing content from your phone to the tv, but it's not mirroring. It would only work with what you have in your gallery. So streaming netflix for example or playing a game wouldn't show on your tv.

Hi guys, just bought a Samsung smart TV and I wanted to know if and how could I stream movies from my phone to the TV Wireless.
I'm currently running Cm9. If there is an app required can someone upload it please.. thanks
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
You need all share to stream stuff on your smart tv. I don't know if all share works with CM9 though. All share is included in the stock Rom, so maybe if you ask somebody he/she will extract it for you do you can try it on CM9
it works on stock
Dont know about CM9, but with the stock rom, you just need to make sure your TV and Phone are connected to the same wifi and then you play your file on your phone. A symbol at the top of the stock player shows a 'choose your player' dialogues and then you choose your TV. Its starts playing either instantly or with a prompt on your tv, depending on your tv setup. I have mine set to auto accept. Works with photos and videos. I have tried with 1080p movies and it works without a problem.
Tv is LG LM670T. 3d smart. its gorgeous
I think most recently manufactured tv hs dlna.
Just search your tv model on Internet then you should be able to find out.
If so, then download bubbleupnp app from play store. You can either set up another server on your computer, which I do, using plex server, which you can download for free for your pc. Or you can use your phone as the server as well.
You can control all the streaming from your pc to your tv or phone to tv right from the bubbleupnp app. Very cool. If you install the extra bubbleupnp server on your computer, you can even stream remotely. Very easy to set up and very cool. Real cool.

If I understand well, you have two options: (1) stock Samsung rom and AllShare Cast (it needs Samsung framework, hence CM will not work) or (2) use DLNA (check if your TV supports it, but I guess so) and one of the apps mentioned above (which will also work in CM as it should support DLNA).
My PS3 and my smart tv pickup my windows computer over wifi enabling me to show pictures music and videos on it. Im assuming this is a windows feature that allows it to show up like that. Is there any type of app that can fake the tv I to thinking my phone is a wi dows media?
I may be using wrong technology terms here but hope what I am saying makes sense
Hey,
There are many apps for that in Google Play, the technology is called "DLNA", just look for that in Google Play.
I use imediashare for displaying videos and pictures on my Sony TV. But with this app you normally send your media to the TV, and not the other way round.
Just try it!

Phil
